ESPN Classic is showing a 5-hour special today and tomorrow with Bert Sugar rating the Heavyweight Champions. It's on all day Friday. Sugar lists them in this order: Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Jack Dempsey, Jack Johnson, Gene Tunney, Rocky Marciano, Ezzard Charles, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Larry Holmes.

Bert Sugar Sucks! But I did enjoy watching Rocky knockout two of the guys on his list and footage of Dempsey and Tunney.

This is odd.

In his book, and in an interview with Sugar I saw, he rated Dempsey ahead of Ali.

I guess he decided he'd take too much flak from the ******* Supremacists if he rated a White man ahead of the supposed "greatest".

Bert comes up with different criteria to suit his moods. Found this interview.
