Ath-uh-letic

Is it just me, or do others find the pronunciation of athlete and athletic by DWF's to be repulsive. It makes me want to pull my hair out every time I hear someone say he's so ath-uh-letic or look at thatath-uh-lete!!! That really grinds my gears.

And then we have Presidents of the United Statessuch asJimmy Carter and George W. Bush who couldn't pronounce the word "nuclear" correctly. Sarah Palin also pronounces it "nuc-u-lar."

Ha ha, yeah I remember seeing a comedy skit about GW where he was dating some libchick and he blew his cover when he said "nuc-u-lar." The ath-uh-letic is pathetic as well.

"Ath-uh-lete" is a pronunciation sometimes used by white mid-westerners, the late President Gerald Ford, for example. I once read that Red Grange would say it that way as an announcer.
