I've been watching this guy for the past 6 years (sorry, I was not aware of Caste Football back then), and he has posted several article claims on how the Chinese can be very good in basketball. Better than whites especially. These are the two boldest claims:

The Chinese are coming (2007)

Chinese Basketball Theory (2002)

Just in case, I will post them here too:

Chinese Basketball Theory </font>

Sep. 8, 2002 - by Arthur Volbert

When Rik Smits (223-C-66, agent: Bartelstein Mark, college: Marist) was a freshman at Marist College, just up the road from me in Poughkeepsie NY, I predicted he would be in the NBA one day. At the time, Rik was less proficient than China's guards and I was among those pursuading Marist to recognize his talent.

I also gave Rik some good advice about dealing with journalists -- advice he appears to have taken during his 12-year NBA career. At the time, I was also writing about Chinese Basketball Theory, as Rik will confirm.
Now China has a 7-5 center with even more potential than Rik, and a 7-1 center whom I also project as an NBA star -- exactly what my theory predicted.

My theory also predicts that China's guards will be even more proficient than their centers but this has not yet happened because of the style of play in China's professional leagues and the junior programs feeding them.

Chinese have advantages over Caucasians, as a group, in quickness, jumping and body control. They have a disadvantage in the leg-drive needed for staight-ahead sprinting, but sprinting skill has little correlation with the abilities needed for basketball though it does in soccer because of the longer runs necessary.
All athletic talents can be looked at separately, and are allocated according to distribution curves, so some individuals will be strong in a talent in which their group is weak. But the high-end of the curve, the amount of top performers, will be determined by the average ability of the group and the population size of the group.

Northern Chinese are a fairly tall people, taller than Southern Chinese, Koreans, Japanese and natives of Taiwan. A former scout for the Dallas Mavericks reported that most Chinese seven-footers came from the north, as I predicted. According to TNT television, China has 100 seven-footers in its basketball program.

I predict that the Chinese will produce guards and small forwards who can both penetrate and dunk, yet be great at passing and shooting. That type of player is rare, even in America. But first China must allow pressure defense and dunking in its top domestic leagues, or these players' skills are wasted, and the players themselves go unrecognized -- like Hu Guang playing in the second division.

The Chinese want to do well in the 2008 Olympics for political reasons. I wish to prove Chinese Basketball Theory. So I am giving China advice which will help it attain its goals, coincidentally assisting mine.

The Chinese are Coming !!!</font>

by Arthur Volbert - Jun 30, 2007

Two players from China were drafted by the NBA Thursday, Yi Jianlian and Sun Yue. But this is just the start of the flood of players who will come to the NBA from China. There may be one player drafted from China next year, athletic 200 cm swingman Wang Lei (200-F-86). Wang is listed as born in 1986 so he becomes automatically eligible for selection next year.

Wang is currently starring for the National Team and if he continues his current outstanding performance, and has a top-notch season in the CBA, he stands a significant chance of being drafted. NBA scouts should take a look at Wang as he competes against the US U-19 team on July 1 and in the Las Vegas NBA summer league.

Aside from Yi Jianlian, there appear to be no players in the class of 1987 who curently project as NBA draftees. 6-4 guard Yang Ming and 7-1 center Zhang Xiaoxu, who is in California and is being recruited by UCLA and USC, are possibilities but would have to develop significantly in order to be considered. Yang has been beaten out by two guards in the class of 1989 for spots on the national team.

I call them the class of 1987 and the class of 1989 because the players are listed as being born in 1987 and 1989, whether or not those dates are correct. Just like seniors or juniors in U. S. high schools and colleges, a class may contain people of different ages. The ages of U.S. high school and college players are rarely mentioned. Their class designation is what is considered most important. As in the United States, the experience level and competitive level of young players corresponds to the class in which they are placed. Once players are fully developed physically, experience level is more important than age, at least until the players reach their thirties.

There are two players from the class of 1988 who may make the NBA, 6-3 guard Xie Libin and 7-2 center Zhang Jiadi. Xie is currently playing for Beijing in the CBA and is scheduled to play on the Chinese team in the World University Games. He once played alongside Chen Jianghua on the Olympic Hope team. Zhang is a late-developing big man who started out as a volleyball player and is currently on the Chinese Under-19 team. Think of him as Roy Hibbert two years ago. He has potential but is not currently NBA-ready.

The real breakthrough year for China comes with the class of 1989. The two best prospects are 6-2 guard Chen Jianghua and 6-9 small forward Zhou Peng. Other top prospects are 6-7 leaper Xu Yong, 6-4 point guard Liu Xiaoyu, 6-11 center-power forward Zhao Hang, 7-0 center Su Wei and an outside shot for developing 7-1 center Jiang Liyang. It would not surprise me if four or five players are selected from the class of 1989 as this is the first class that has consistently played junior basketball in the international style rather than the old Chinese style.

Chinese players, like African-Americans, will be noted for their athleticism -- quickness, leaping ability and body control which are group characteristics of Chinese. Athleticism was not that important to success in the old Chinese style, while it is vital to success in the international style. But Chinese shooting abilities will be more like the strength shown by Europeans. Chinese players will tend to be less robust than African-Americans or Europeans but this disadvantage can be overcome as Chinese begin to use sophisticated conditioning programs. The 1.3 billion population ensures that China will produce enough players with sufficient height even if average Chinese height is less than that of Europeans or African-Americans.

This was the first year that more than one Chinese player was selected in the NBA draft. It won't be the last. This is what Chinese Basketball Theory has long predicted.

Interesting. This Volbert guy's found himself a little niche. I've always wonderd why China with all those people hasn't had more impact on the sports world. So fare not much. Yao's okay. The others have been duds.

Chinese basketball theory. Maybe right up there with Cold Fusion. We'll see.

the Chinese people are noted for their athleticism?
smiley36.gif

furthermore, the so-called excellent guards he's talking about are terrible. every time i've watched China play in international competitions, by far the weakest part of their roster were the guards. they were short, slow, and unable to play defense. but somehow, despite the obvious evidence to the contrary, they really could do all those things? hahaha!!!
smiley36.gif

the Chinese 7-footers, are just that. they're tall. other than Yao, they've not yet produced an NBA caliber starting player, despite all the hype around the subesequent Chinamen who've been drafted. also, there is a great deal of controversy over the ages of most of these so-called "draft worthy" players, because they usually turn out to be several years older than reported.

finally, unlike White men, Chinese players don't offer a wide range of body styles. with Whites, body types of NBA-caliber players range from long and athletic to shorter and more powerful. the Chinese prospects all appear to be slender, but they're not long. they are notorious for being short-armed. just look at Yao, he's like a Tyrannosaurus Rex with his short reach compared to his height.

there is no doubt that there will be a few NBA players to emerge from China's billion-plus population. but a takeover of the NBA? i just can't see it.

and to think Chinese are better athletes than White men is simply ridiculous.

Is every race superior to whites now? And will whites
ever stop publishing articles proclaiming their inferiority? Talk about
low self-esteem.

Asians are supposed to be the best martial artists, yet are routinely beaten by
white fighters. Do you think Asian publicists discus this irony? </span>How the white man defeats them with the fighting
systems they produced? </span>Furthermore,
will Asian sports writers theorize to explain this phenomenon? </span>Will they talk, for instance, of the white
man's superior strength and power exemplified in Olympic lifting, power
lifting, and World's Strongest Man competitions? </span>I think we all know the answer:
</span>Asians have high cultural esteem, and so does about every other race
except for whites, and esp. whites in America.
</span>

And as far as Asians having better agility and quickness: </span>examine how well whites perform in both agilityand
shuffle drills at the NFL combine. If the few whites allowed to participate
have the best times, does anyone think Asians would outperform both white and
black NFL players in agility, quickens, and first step speed? </span>

Can Yao Ming even be considered better than Rik Smits?

Rik Smits was a fine player, but he was no superstar and not even a perennial all-star.

Let them play in their own leagues in China. This is why I am getting sick of sports and this country. They'll just let everbody in to take the place of Americans. In Europe, they let all the Africans and South Americans in to take over the game.

If not for his foot injuries (just like Ilgauskas), Rik Smits would have been one of the best centers of the 90's, a several time All-Star. But in the end, he was good enough to be well remembered.Edited by: j41181

What a dumb, dumb article!

These videos will prove Arthur Volbert totally WRONG!

Big Z BLOCKS Yi

Big Z CLUTCH 3

Chinese better than whites? Puh-lease, Yao Ming has never hit a clutch shot, let alone a clutch 3, and Yi has a very long way to go, not even close to Dirk's standard by a million years.

Smits was a good one. if he were playing today he would be the top center in the league. back then he was in the tier behind Shaq, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, and Hakeem Olajuwon. But better than Vlade Divac and Dikembe Mutombo.

Better centers back in the Nineties. Where have all the centers gone?

They just disappeared and aged out I guess. Dwight Howard is fast and strong, but not as skilled compared to his 90's counterparts, Yao Ming is too big and slow, Zydrunas Ilgauskas plays like Smits, just only slower, Shaq's too old, Tim Duncan, and Pau Gasol are more of power forwards, Dirk Nowitzki is another power forward. The next great center could be Brook Lopez (white hispanic), but beyond that, not much center to talk about. Chris Kaman has been injury prone as of late, and again, not much centers to see.

The Chinese as a race are, in my opinion, generally adept at sports that place a premium on body control and precision (yeah -- ping pong, of course, pistol and rifle shooting, archery, and also gymnastics and diving). This general truth is born out by their Olympic performances.

Barring certain exceptions, they generally aren't so great at sports that place a premium on brute strength or speed.

Whites, on the other hand, are perhaps a race ideally suited for sports participation in any field -- which is why whites generally display competence (if not outright superiority) at most athletic endeavors. And also, I might add, why whites have survived and thrived throughout the world, and are constantly pushing the envelope insofar as human achievement in all its measures is assessed.

These pro-Chinese articles are just further evidence that any sign that the white race does not intend to bow out of sports altogether to let someone else play is a bad thing for the liberal media. If these sports "experts" were to have it their way, whites would be completely marginalized (instead of just partially marginalized) while blacks are dominant but there would also be a healthy smattering of all the other races, too, in every sport.

Once again, just like affirmative action and other gimmies designed by the weak minded to cow tow to the even weaker minded, this racial "whaa-whaa" in favor of Chinese athletes seeks to punish whites for creating a sport, being the best at a sport, and dominating a sport -- and this punishment is clearly seen in the way the sports themselves are changed so that other races can dominate them (does anyone even call "traveling" anymore, let alone fouls committed by minorities against whites?)

As always, liberals -- in their condescending, know-it-all sense of intellectual and moral superiority -- fail to realize that in debasing themselves (assuming they're white, and they usually are -- they will one day no longer have the power to dictate what is right or wrong, because the white power structure that grants them the safety to spew their rhetoric will be gone completely, to be replaced by propaganda channels probably run by Don King and Antonio Villaragosa.
