Lockett is Pavlik's WBO mandatory, not Abraham's mandatory. Sauerland said Abraham will face his own IBF mandatory in the fall, appearing on the same card as Pavlik. It should have read "in the fall against his mandatory, on the same card as Kelly Pavlik" to clarify what I meant, but I thought most people would understand.

I see on the BoxRec schedule this morning, Arthur Abraham vs. Edison Miranda on June 21!

I find this hard to believe - BoxRec is accurate 99% of the time, but this time they are probably wrong. It would be a great fight if it does happen!

Fightnews is reporting today that Abraham will fight in the US on June 21, but there is no mention of Miranda. It also states that Abraham will fight his IBF mandatory in the fall in Germany, and if all goes well, face Pavlik in the winter. Edited by: JD1986

Again I am very impressed with King Arthur. His defense and chin are both very strong. I do believe his workrate could come up just a bit.

I wouldn't mind seeing an Abraham/Miranda rematch, but it would go much the same as the first fight, with Arthur taking it either by UD (like the first time) or by KO in the latter rounds. I would actually like to see him fight Winky Wright!

Congrats Arthur. Also, Vladimir Povetkin (Alexander's little brother) also won via Decision. Also, Mads Larsen won. This was a very good way to cap off a pretty poor month in boxing.

In this fight against Ayala, Abraham had hurt his right hand and had trouble using it -especially in the twelfth. He took longer to knock Ayala out and had to work harder than necessary because he was waiting for the perfect place to land some kind of a left hook. He ended up knocking Ayala out with a left upper cut from an odd angle.

We confirm two things from this fight: One, Abraham will fight injured and fight with whatever tools he has left after an injury in order to win. Not all fighters will do this and it makes him exceptional. Two, Abraham has power in both hands and has the skill to land those shots.

What I like about Abraham is his all-around boxing skill which gives him many ways to win depending on who he is fighting. His defense is mostly blocking, parrying, footwork, and distance control, but it works very well for him thus far. I truly believe he is a formidable opponent for any middleweight in the world. He is not as good as Calzaghe or Pavlik but he is right there behind them. Long live the king.Edited by: Maple Leaf

I know that. I misunderstood what you wrote. I thought you meant that Pavlik was fighting another mandatory (I've read that it's Lorenzo) in the fall, after Lockett.

Well, Pavlik has two mandatories, so that's what created the confusion for me. No big deal. I'll ignore the thinly veiled insult... this time.

I saw the complete fight today, and I can't say that I was overly impressed. He can be very passive at times, plenty of punches get through that "shell" (his swollen face was a testament to that,) he didn't jab enough (he has a great jab when he uses it, but for most of the fight he didn't.) I don't see what he could do to Pavlik that Taylor, Miranda, and Zuniga couldn't do. Of course, he has a puncher's chance, just like they did. But Pavlik is the much more complete fighter, IMO.

Arthur Abraham is fighting his mandatory Raul Marquez on Saturday. There is a PPV in North America, which will include cruiserweight Enad Licina vs. African-American Otis Griffin. It starts at 3 pm Eastern time (12 noon my time), and costs about $25.

Since the PPV lasts for four hours, I expect they will also show young Ukrainian heavyweight Oleg Platov vs. white American Jason Gavern, and likely another fight or two, perhaps Finnish heavyweight prospect Robert Helenius vs. Nicola Vujosinovic.

The fight was cancelled last night. It stated that Art got a bad case of the flu. The bout has been rescheduled for the beginning of November.

I see King Arthur blowing out Marquez in five or six rounds. The slaughter has been postponed.

Looks like the tournament was cancelled. It had been postponed twice before.

So do we consider Vic white or not? I was happy to see him beat the Mexican regardless.

Amren.com of course Vic is white. You ask any Amermian if they are white, they will say they are. If you say they are Arab or God forbid, say they are Jews or some mogral group you will have a fight on your hands. All Armos are Christians and devote family people. To be honest, they stand up to dirt bag blacks more than the esmasculated American whites in the USA.

I am in Law Enforcement, and we consider Armos white for what ever thats worth. Remember the deep hatred they have toward Turks who are Arabs during the genocide back in the early 1900's. To answer your question, he is white, unfortuneately, for him, he is born with a crooked nose.

A lot of this comes down to a look test. Armenians are certainly white, but some people feel they don't "look" white, as Seahawker pointed out above.

I personally think they do "look" white. Obviously different from a Scnadinavian, but still white. White's have a white range of looks, hair and eye color, etc. I don't know if any of you are familiar with System of a Down (a band) but they are all Armenians, and are also white. Ara Parseghian of Notre Dame was Armenian, but looked like an Italian. Same with Mike Connors, who starred as Mannix back in the 60's. He looked like he could have been Dean Martin's brother.

To get back to topic, I think Vic is not followed as closely on this board because he is at such a light division. I posted of his victory in the white boxers thread, because it was a huge fight in importance, and a great win. He is one of my favorite "little" boxers.

Arthur Abraham defeated his opponent Raul Marquez by RTD 6 today.

It was very unusual for a warrior like Marquez to quit on his stool, but he took a bad beating in the 5th and 6th rounds.

Abraham is an absolute beast in the ring. He dominates fights like few guys I have ever seen. I am now convinced he is better than Pavlik. I think Abraham would beat Hopkins with ease. He is extremely tough and fights through pain.

King Arthur is scheduled to fight in Germany on March 14th. It it unknown who his opponent will be. I would like to se him fight Pavlik this summer.
