German boxer Arthur Abraham won an impressive 5th round TKO over black British boxer Wayne Elcock to retain his IBF middleweight title.

White boxers still hold all four world titles at middleweight!

To win the opportunity to fight Abraham, Elcock won a unanimous 12 decision over Howard Eastman. Have you ever heard of Howard Eastman (I know you have)? Judging by the vid. it would appear Elcock was fortunate to have such a good referee as he looked almost out on his feet at the time of stoppage.

I think I have finally healed from Hatton's loss. Now its time to start focusing on the white middleweights. This guy Abraham(not jewish, but Armenian)looks like a world beater. He has demonstrated great power as well as heart. Slugger Edison Miranda fractured his jaw and he still fought the last half of the fight with it, winning the fight!

I suspect Pavlik will avoid him for a year or two. When the two meet I think Pavlik will have the edge if he boxes intelligently. He can not stand there and trade with this man. I will hope for Abraham's and Pavlik's success and maybe in a year or two they will meet for the undisputed title. They are the 1 and 2 best fighters in the middleweight division.

I have, but I've never seen either of them fight. I think I saw a short vid of Miranda knocking down Eastman, that's about it. I'll watch the Duddy/ Eastman vid that Devans posted. Anyway, I don't mean to criticize Abraham, I was just a little surprised that his face looked so bad after only five rounds.

I hope Arthur can put a W in the column for white fighters this Saturday. As most members know March has been a distaster for marquee white warriors. A win would be a great to close out a bad month.

This guy he is fighting looks like he is part black, hispanic and white. King Arthur should win and start to set up a huge match with Kelly in the late summer.

I believe Arthur is like Kelly in that he has a will to win and crushing power in both hands. Go Arthur

Arthur Abraham's promoter Sauerland does not deny Ayala is a relatively easy opponent for King Arthur, but he has bigger plans for his future. He said Abraham will fight again in the US on June 7, then in the fall against his IBF mandatory, on the same card as Kelly Pavlik.

Sauerland said they plan on a unification fight with Pavlik in early 2009 if all goes well until then!

Abraham KO 12 Ayala

Damn, I thought Arthur might have killed Ayala the way he slumped to the canvas.

Irish junior welter Paul McCloskey also won over a former lightweight champ as well.

Good end to a tough month for white boxers.

Beautiful left uppercut and Ayala buckled and fell on his face.

Good fight with a perfect ending - Ayala turned out to be a decent opponent with his good speed and excellent work rate.

They're showing another fight now on that livestream - young white cruiserweight, Enad Licina, against a decent African-American Kendrick Releford (normally a heavyweight, he was robbed against Chazz Witherspoon and went the distance with Tye Fields).

First thanks alot JD1986 for that stream. I caught the last round where Arthur clip him with that vicious left hook/upper cut. Its great knowing the month will end with a great performance by one of our warriors winning in dramatic fashion.

Second, they are setting the stage for Pavlik/Abraham showdown in near future. Being part german, I took a little bit of pride in Arthur speaking german after the fight. It made me wonder about centuries ago, when that was the world order.

Now I can rub noses of some of my black co-workers. Payback is a great after being on the recieving end.

I just reviewed a bunch of clips of King Arthur on Youtube. Kelly, if he fights this man he will have his hands full. Art it seems takes alot of punches but returns in kind with devastating affect. He won't be discouraged. Just watch his fight with slugger Edison Miranda, it was a war, with Art getting his jaw broke in the middle of the fight. He hung in there and battle Miranda to a victory. I hope King Arthur knocks some other black hopes off before he steps up to Kelly.

I was hearing of Pavlik and Abraham being on the same card for a while, then it switched to Pavlik and Lee. But I think this confirms it. Abraham will come to the states. But against whom...I think it would have to be someone decent for the mainstream public to take notice. I was thinking Winky Wright as he doesn't have a opponent but that would be very tricky. Trinidad or Mayorga but they are Don King fighters and who knows what could be up. Either way they will figure out something for Abraham.

Mrjohnnynofear, I never thought of it until you brought it up. A fight between Trinadad and Abraham, wow, you talk about a war. This fight won't go beyond two or three rounds. I suspect that Abraham would win, but Trinadad looked good going 12 rounds with Roy Jones and was winning after the sixth round!

If I was Trinadad or Abraham I would ask for this fight. Big PPV and a title on the line. This would be a great fight for Arthur while he waits for Pavlik. Felix however, must be respected for his left hook. No gimme for king Arthur.

Trinidad can't make 160 anymore otherwise he would have been Pavlik's next opponent. Felix couldn't even make 168 for the Jones fight (he came in at 170).

Abraham will probably fight a safe fight on 6/7. Someone like Raul Marquez or Giovanni Lorenzo.

Lockett is a mandatory, do you think he'll fight another mandatory in the fall?

Yeah, Kukulcan, I was thinking about it. But Liverlips is right. How soon I forget. Trinidad was having a tough time trying to make weight. And Mayorga would be the same way. Winky is way too tricky at this point. I think along the lines of Raul Marquez could be fine. I wish it was a well known fighter who would give action. That way, it would get Abraham some exposure to the mainstream. But if HBO gets behind it, they have a decent stable of fighter to pair him up with.
