you might have heard about real madrid's resort island in the middle east, just one more proof that real madrid wants to develop in the arab-muslim world (like many clubs)
it was not a surprise, i said a while ago that they wanted to be popular in the middle east, and said it was the reason why they have quite a lot of arab-muslim players

there has been some talk about this resort island recently by the way, especially because of their logo:

the logo is at the start of the video
do you notice something?

compare it with the real logo:
Real_madrid_cf1.gif

they cut off the cross at the top of the logo....
they said they did not want to cause religious problems
maybe the arabs who come in europe will hide their hideous non-european faces to avoid hurting our feelings? :icon_rolleyes:
(the original article in spanish: http://www.marca.com/2012/03/30/futbol/equipos/real_madrid/1333103798.html)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

anyway, recently, in the first leg of the quarter finals of the champions league (real madrid vs apoel), madrid started the match with 4 arab/muslim players (khedira, ozil, benzema, sahin)

and benzema is for me the most annoyingly over-rated player today with balotelli
after this match, in wich he scored 2 tap-ins, and missed 2 open goals (including this one: http://youtu.be/G5VQV8IjYsk ), the french media was out of control
some titles: "benzema, mieux que messi" (http://www.eurosport.fr/football/li...enzema-mieux-que-messi_sto3212650/story.shtml)
= "benzema, better than messi"

"benzema, the lethal weapon" ( http://www.sport24.com/football/ligue-des-champions/actualites/benzema-l-arme-fatale-544807 )

you could almost forget that the man who makes real madrid win is, of course, cristiano ronaldo

but there is a little problem: benzema should have never been titular in real madrid
higuain is 100 times better than benzema will ever be, and they are the same age
benzema never scored in an official competition for france, while higuain is still a starter in the argentina national team and scored 4 goals in the last world cup
higuain has been consistent at out-scoring benzema

this season, so far, higuain is the 3rd top scorer of la liga, with 20 goals in 1378 minutes (he was a starter for 14 matches)
benzema has 17 goals in 1700 minutes (he was a starter for 20 matches)

in champions league benzema scores more, but higuain only started 4 matches and benzema 8
and benzema had incredible misses in champions league (a friend of mine is currently doing a compilation of these misses )

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

something i already posted about why benzema is the number 1 striker in real madrid despite scoring less than higuain, updated:

http://www.aniveldecancha.com.mx/nota/1303/higuain-esta-harto/
higuain is tired of being poorly considered in real madrid, despite scoring a lot more than benzema. he asked the club to think about selling him, so he should leave the club at the end of the season.
the article mentions that even the players prefer higuain to benzema, as benzema only talks to the other "french" lassana diarra.
they also say that benzema is paid more than higuain.
so since every thing shows higuain is better, why does benzema play as a titular, while higuain thinks about leaving the club?
the answer is in this sentence:
"Y es que Higuaín teme que Mourinho se haya decantado por Benzema tras las presiones de Florentino Pérez. El presidente le fichó como un galáctico y le pidió al técnico que sacase el máximo rendimiento del francés. Quiere a Benzema de titular y, en igualdad de condiciones, el francés siempre estará por delante. Para Florentino es básico que no le echen nunca en cara el sobreprecio que pagó por un delantero que ha mejorado, pero que sigue sin ser tan decisivo como el mejor Higuaín."

translation: "higuain is affraid that mourinho might have chosen to play with benzema as a titular because of florention perez's lobbying. the club owner, who advertised benzema as a "galactic" (very famous players bought by real madrid to gain popularity), asked the coach to make the most of benzema. he wants benzema to be titular, and, when in similar contition, benzema will always be ahead of higuain. it's very important for florentino perez that nobody can tell him that he paid too much for a striker who improved, but remains less crucial than higuain when he is at his best".

and http://www.elconfidencial.com/depor...rentino-perez-cuando-nadie-creia-en-el-95167/

" No le quería en su equipo, pero la insistencia de Florentino Pérez, uno de los pocos con los que hablaba por aquel entonces por su dominio del francés, arruinó la iniciativa del técnico, que volvió a insistir en su salida antes de la lesión de Higuaín de noviembre de 2010."

translation:
"mourinho didn't want benzema in his team, but florentino perez, one of the few who was able to talk to benzema because he was fluent in french, insisted on benzema playing for real madrid, and ruined the coach's efforts
but mourinho asked for benzema to be replaced until higuain's injury in november of 2010"

and i won't even talk about pellegrini, who was benzema's first coach in real madrid (he would have never accepted to play with benzema as number one striker)

but why does florentino perez love benzema so much? because he is arab, so he is very popular in the arabic-muslim countries, so he helps real madrid to conquer the arab market, like zidane before him. see for example benzema's presentation to the fans when he was bought:

http://youtu.be/HB1Em22z1UE

with caricatural arabic music (while benzema, like most "french" arabs, prefers french rap)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

for someone like me, who is both french (so who have to deal with the dumb benzema worshippers) and a former real madrid fan, this benzema joke is getting very annoying
when they say that he will take on the legacy of legendary real madrid strikers, like di stefano, ronaldo (the brazilian) ....

I didn't notice the cross missing until you mentioned it. Do the leaves represent Islam?

The media always has to play up the minority. I am sick of seeing Balotelli's face on the BBC. There is always some story about that guy.

i'm not sure if they represent islam per say (i think islam has no real symbol) but it sure is part of a global oriental image, with the sand for example

balotelli and benzema are the most ridiculously over rated in the world for me
balotelli is the most over rated by far, because he never accomplished anything to prove he was so "gifted"
benzema has been top scorer of ligue 1 , it shouldn't be enough to be bought by real madrid (especially when they never played with huntelaar, who now scores incredible amount of goals with schalke) but that's something balotelli never did

higuain scored once again today when real madrid won the tittle
this player has a better goal /minutes ratio than ronaldo, but he will be sold like he is not good enough for real madrid
the club who will buy him after that (juventus? paris saint germain?) will make a good deal

all this because of the club owners, who prefer benzema for marketing reasons
but mourinho will try to buy a very known striker for the next season, because i know that he doesn't consider benzema good enough for real madrid
since mourinho won the spanish league this year, he will become more influential, and the club owners will be forced to buy a new striker
then mourinho will put benzema on the bench, or he will play in unimportant matches, or in a more defensive position

mourinho will do exactly the same that he did with eto'o at internazionale in 2009, when etoo played almost as a full back, just because mourinho was forced to put him on the field (but his favourite striker was milito)

real madrid's team when they won the title:

8 whites
2 arabs-muslims (ozil and khedira)
1 black (part-black pepe)

1 black, 1 white and 1 arab (benzema) came in

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

by the way, some more quotes that prove that the club owners always prefered benzema to higuain while the coach prefers higuain:

http://www.jeuxvideo.com/forums/1-20-17828655-5-0-1-0-benzema-est-surcote.htm#message_17830965

everything is in spanish though
i posted this on a forum i was trolling with the benzema compilation, when some guy said that there were no proof of the fact that the club owners prefer benzema

Mourinho also doesn't seem to like Mesut Ozil as he's consistently substituted or kept him on the bench until well into the second half. I actually think Ozil is the best non-white player they've got. Khedira is sometimes good - both he and Ozil were involved in Higuan's great goal today - but not anywhere near as good as our salivating commentators claim. Marcelo is pretty good but has a discipline problem. I don't rank Pepe at all. He's also a hothead who has got them into trouble lots of times and should have been suspended for stamping on Messi's hand earlier in the season.

Obviously another player they could do without is Benzema. (He looks like the kind of awkwardperson who couldn't walk into a shop without knocking over the merchandise). But the same could probably be said of Argentinian diver Di Maria who also plays up front, on the wing. Clearly Mourinho wants two left-footed players on attack at all times. Di Maria would be fine as a sub but not as a starter for a team of Real Madrid's calibre.

Assuming they'll get rid of Kaka (rightly so) I'd go with Ozil as an attacking midfielder and I'd ditch both Di Maria and Benzema and go shopping for another lefty forward. But who? Gareth Bale might be a good fit but I don't see it happening. Nor do I see Robben coming back (though apparently he's still upset about being transferred to Bayern). Who else?

I guess they could also give Mourinho's fellow Portuguese Fabio Coentrao more playing time.

ozil is better than the joke that benzema is, but he is 100% a marketing-related transfert

real madrid communicated a lot about ozil's muslim faith when they bought him
and i have read an article where florentino perez says about the ozil transfert that he plans to buy more arabs-muslim players in the future, because the muslim world is important to real madrid
i didn't found it on the internet, i read about it in a real newspaper then

he is also popular in germany, and he is also a turk (althought not very popular in turkey because he plays for germany)
florentino perez bought a lot of "german" players and turks (mertesacker, ozil, sahin, khedira, altintop) because the company he owns (acs) planned to develop in germany and turkey :
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/25/business/global/25hochtief.html?pagewanted=all

source in spanish:

(the title is "to understand some transferts you have to look further than football")

real madrid can have every player they want
if they want bale, he will come
that's why seeing them with karim benzema as number 1 striker is so ridiculous
if i were a coach i would say juan manuel vargas but he's not known enough for real madrid (and he just got a bad injury)
if think that we can expect this left footed player to be south american if he plays instead of di maria
i hope the striker that mourinho will buy will be white, and there are many european strikers that did amazing things in europe, from giroud to van persie
suposedly he called ibrahimovitch to ask him if he wanted to come to real madrid

I guess they could also give Mourinho's fellow Portuguese Fabio Coentrao more playing time.

yes, i always thought that he was one of the best at his position

I don't rank Pepe at all. He's also a hothead who has got them into trouble lots of times and should have been suspended for stamping on Messi's hand earlier in the season.

that's what i don't like with mourinho
these guys are a shame for real madrid

in their beautiful anthem, they say "cuando pierden dan la mano", "even when they lose they shake hands with the oponent"

that's something that we all love about football, you give everything on the pitch, you can even be violent , but when the match ends you shake hands with the oponent
the players that have perfect attitude for me are diego lugano and forlan
this "chivalry" thing

mourinho and pepe are the oposite of that

i forgot to say that in spain it is widely accepted that the next player who will be bought by real madrid will be brazilian, again because of business-related reasons
they suposedly plan to take part in the construction market in brazil (throught ACS, florentino perez's company) that will increase because of the world cup and olympic games (and because brazil is an emerging power)

(source:

http://sicom.cat/conflictesoblidats/2012/01/02/fichajes-mas-alla-del-futbol/)

so obviously neymar is a possibility
but leandro damiao is a striker (what they are looking for) so he could be their new number one striker
obviously this is not what we would prefer
but as long as benzema is no longer the number 1 striker of real madrid i'm OK

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

higuain had tears in the eyes when the real madrid players celebrated the title with the fans in madrid, and he was one of the most applauded players
he was wearing a jersey with messages written by his team-mates like "thanks for what you gave to the team"
the kind of message you write when the player is about to leave the club
paris saint germain's offer is becoming more serious, it seems that it will be his next club
paris saint germain want to make him their star player

http://www.as.com/futbol/articulo/pipita-gracias-nos-diste/20120504dasdaiftb_8/Tes

Gonzalo_Higuain.jpg

(in the picture you can read "mi casa es tu casa" = "my house is your house")

this was another proof that higuain was more popular with the fans and with his team-mates than bezema, something that has already been proved at the start of this season when they asked the fans who they prefered as the main striker: higuain or benzema?

55% said higuain, 45% said benzema
this means a lot when you consider that when this poll was made, benzema was clearly the number one striker
it would be like the bayern munchen fans saying that they prefer olic to mario gomez, with a 10 points difference
that's quite unique actually

a relatively recent debate where they discuss whether benzema is still playing for real madrid because of florentino perez or not:

i love this kind of debate :icon_mrgreen:
anyway the guy who has long brown hair says that mourinho, during a match, said in front of the bench "el frances del presidente" to mention benzema negatively
which would translate to "the president's frenchman", impliying that benzema is in the team because of florentino perez, and that mourinho never liked him

then they mention that under mourinho, adebayor played more in the most important matches than benzema last year (2010-2011)
he says that benzema didn't even play 1 single minute in the champions league semifinal last year
so the other guy's theory about mourinho always thinking that benzema would be good one day and trusting him is proven wrong

they have some strange theories to explain why benzema didn't play much last year, and became the number one striker this year
all these theories are ridiculous and are so full of wishful thinking that they sound like some kind of conspiracy theory

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

anyway, some more proof, this time we go back to 2009, when manuel pellegrini (one of my favourite coaches) was coaching real madrid

http://www.facetasdeportivastv.com/nota.php?id=7977

the title of the article is "benzema creates the first conflict with pellegrini"

to make it short, they say that when florentino bought benzema, pellegrini said that it would make the team worse
pellegrini would have liked to keep the 35 millions they spent on benzema to keep robben and sneijder in the team

today, we can see that he was obviously right, because since 2009 real madrid didn't even play a champions league final, while robben played 2 finals (including 1 today that he may win), and sneijder 1 (which he won)
also, both reached the world cup final in 2010

in the end of the quote they say that florentino perez didn't listen to pellegrini, and once again prefered the mediatic aspect to the sports aspect

another one:

http://www.eurosport.fr/football/liga/2009-2010/pellegrini-accuse-perez_sto2401493/story.shtml

pellegrini says that he didn't agree with florentino perez about the squad, that perez sold players that he considered very important like robben and sneijder
and when the president and the coach don't agree, the coach has to leave
he says that he agreed with florentino perez about buying players that would be good for the club's mediatic image, but florentino perez bought too many forwards

then, something that does no longer come as a surprise since we have read the 2 previous quotes:

Una de las claves del distanciamiento entre Florentino y Pellegrini fue precisamente el poco protagonismo de Benzema. Algunas personas del entorno cercano del presidente cuentan en privado esta cuestión.

http://www.vavel.com/mobile/es/futbol/realmadrid/11719-la-verdadera-historia-de-karim-benzema.html

which would translate to "benzema's little play time was the main reason why florentino perez and pellegrini became enemies
some people in the president's entourage can testify"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and also, like always with benzema, when they say that he is important for real madrid's mediatic image, they mean that benzema is here to raise interest in the arab and muslim countries

For now, they (the middle eastern fans, ndlr) have to settle for a smattering of well-known players like Zinedine Zidane, born in France to Algerian parents, who was arguably the most popular Muslim footballer of his time. While not all Arabs are Muslim, the majority are and it's through religious affiliation that a lot of Muslim fans relate to players. Franck Ribery, Abou Diaby (both France), Mesut Ozil (Germany) and Hakan Yazin (Switzerland) are four of the few Muslim players who play for countries that are not traditionally Arab.

A smidgen of stars from the Arab region make it in major European Leagues but should more of them become prominent in those leagues, it would strengthen Arab sides and help to create a global interest in players from that region. That's much needed in a world where connotations of being Arab are often negative and the Muslim culture as a whole has become more withdrawn and inward looking. A rise in top-class footballers from that section of society could go a long way to altering those perceptions, at least in the sporting world.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/world-cup/columns/story?id=807301&cc=5739&ver=global

translation: "a few months sooner, real madrid did a big step towards arab countries by buying karim benzema
if florentino perez likes benzema so much, it's mainly because he allows him to raise interest in the oriental market, like zinedine zidane did before him
as a reminder, they put the song "aicha" by cheb khaled while benzema was presented to the fans in real madrid's stadium"

i might also add that zidane (who is very popular in the world, but especially in muslim countries and arab countries, for obvious reasons) has been named "sporting director" of real madrid
basically it's just an excuse to say he is part of the club and show his face
he does nothing actually

there were rumors in spain (denied by mourinho) that mourinho wanted zidane to be fired, because he was totally useless
(zidane is not a showman, he hates talking and gives very few interviews, he is very shy also
he is also pretty dumb)

a french article in the most famous french-speaking sports newspaper
so ridiculous that i took a screenshot of it:
471659_3319291104410_879784318_o.jpg

it says that the 3 most important players in real madrid's triumph this year in la liga were benzema, ronaldo and xabi alonso
that's already bad enough, since benzema was suposed to be a goal-scorer and he scored less than ronaldo ofcourse, but also less than higuain, even though higuain played 548 minutes less than benzema (higuain has one of the best goals per minutes played ratio in europe with messi and ronaldo)

also, no mention of ozil who is the player with most assists in la liga

but it becomes incredible in the text i highlighted: "even though cristiano ronaldo beat all his records this year, some people think that karim benzema has been the best real madrid player this year
benzema never chocked in the big matches, unlike the portuguese"

that's such an idiotic statement that i won't even tell the big games where benzema choked and ronaldo shined, i think everyone except french or arab delusional people will agree to say that ronaldo has always been and will always be way superior to benzema

but just the most important match in the league triumph: the victory 2-1 over barcelona
benzema choked, and ronaldo scored
it's embarrassing to have to say it, it's so obvious

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

some more proof about benzema playing in madrid because he is arab (because it's incredible how the media keeps saying how benzema improved and made a name for himself in real madrid while he plays only because perez wants to be popular in the middle east
typical delusional article: http://frenchfootballweekly.com/2012/05/16/karim-benzema-finally-fulfils-his-potential-at-real/)

a recent article about how paris saint germain tried to buy benzema:

http://www.le10sport.com/football/france/ligue1/le-psg-a-tente-benzema-l-ete-dernier-61733

translation:
"paris saint germain's qatari owners dream about having a star player of north-african descent, so they tried to buy real madrid's karim benzema last summer
very powerful financialy, the qatari owners have no limit when it comes to buying players
they always said that they wanted to find a good player of north-african descent and make him a star, to increase the club's popularity in the middle east
they also want younes belhanda"

lucas moura the brazilian (part-black) will most likely be the brazilian that real madrid will buy, he is left footed so he could be both the lefty forward you were mentionning and the brazilian i was mentionning

he's not bad, he is better than neymar i believe

edit: he plays on the left of the field, but he is right footed, i have trouble with the left-right foot
so we are still looking for a left footed player for real madrid (silva from manchester city is mentionned)
moura would replace kaka i think

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the official video presenting the new real madrid shirt for the 2012-2013 season:

benzema appears more important than even ronaldo (because ronaldo wears nike shoes and benzema adidas shoes)
he scores, he is the last viewed in the video, so the one everyone will remember after seeing the video
no higuain (he has nike shoes, but ronaldo too, and it didn't prevent him to at least appear in the video)
sergio ramos also has nike shoes but he is seen a lot in the video
kaka is seen despite his horrible season

higuain scored with argentina vs ecuador (4-0 for argentina, ecuador with no white player) in the south american qualifications to the 2014 world cup
higuain now has 13 goals in 24 matches for argentina, but remember guys: according to the benzema worshippers, higuain never scores in the important matches, while benzema scores in the important matches!
that's a very important point of the benzema mythology

he was (according to the south american media) the 3rd best player of this match, after messi and aguero

benzema scored in the adidas commercial for the new real madrid shirst, while higuain scored in this very important match in estadio monumental of buenos aires :biggrin1:

Fred Hermel? (just kidding)

i said earlier that i was pretty sure that frederic hermel knew why benzema was so important for real madrid (arab/muslim player, so he is very popular in the middle east)

here he is on a spanish channel saying that paris saint germain's qatari owners wanted to buy benzema last year because they wanted an arab/muslim player:

at the end of the video, 14.50
it happened the 16th of may

and then he acts like florentino perez likes benzema because of his skills :icon_rolleyes:
by the way hermel is also the name of a city in lebanon

benzema saying before the eurochamps that messi and ronaldo were not much better than him, and that he thinks he can win the golden ball this year:

it's a big victory for me today, because when i created this thread and when my friend did these compilations about benzema's misses we were insulted left and right, because at the time benzema was over-rated like crazy by the media for scoring a few goals with real madrid (they were saying that he would be the euro champs top scorer and then win the golden ball, even benzema himself said this)

but we never stopped telling the truth
today, after benzema's pathetic euro champs (0 goals in 4 matches, least effective player in the history of the euro champs) we can say that we were the only ones to be right about benzema
this forum, this thread, is the only place on the internet where the truth has been said about benzema
this is the only place where you will find somebody who is not surprised by benzema's pathetic euro champs

benzema's shot against spain meeting with sergio ramo's missed penalty in the champions league final:

A couple of weeks ago Sergio Ramos was in the crowd at a Madrid tennis match. The two commentators started joking that the ball he struck hasn't been found yet. I would like similar jokes to be told about Benzema.

i'm trying to create new nicknames for him, in spanish there was "benzena" (benze-nada = benze-nothing because he never scores) or "benzemalo" (benze-bad) but he lacks a nickname in french

a friend told me "benchépas" which could be translated to "duh, i don't know" because he looks lost (in french that sounds like "benchépa" because in french the last "s" is silent)

benzema saying that he will offer his shoes for a commercial if he scores a hat trick in the euro champs final

it's funny because at half time in france he was in every commercial, scoring goals left and right, but then he didn't score in the real competition
how delusional he was...

Jose Mourinho is no doubt watching the performances of his two main forwards - Ronaldo and Benzema. Talk about a contrast.
