Sergei Dzindziruk just became WBO junior middleweight champ by beating Puerto Rican Daniel Santos. The dominance of white boxers in the middle and upperweight divisions proceeds at a nice pace.

I'm sure the corporate media will devote as much space to this as they do to loser black quarterbacks like Culpepper and Vick.

This board sure is up on things, something goes down and it's here.As far as having no TV coverage here I think because Taylor-Hopkins is happening the same day that has most peoples interest. But not me.Dzinziruk-Santos was my main focus despite the little coverage it received. Also the fact that Sergei is an unknown Uky to these shores also contributed.Hats-off to Universum-Box Promotion out of Germany who scout these Euro prospects as amateurs and bring the best ones in and develop them as pros.Dzinziruk sure had the credentials as an amateur as he holds a win over the very fine Cuban Hector Vincent Caron.I know most people here are mostly into the heavyweights, but I like all divisions and with outfits like Universum I feel you will see more Euros kicking butt from fly to heavy.Makes you kind of wonder had the Eastern-Euros been allowed to turn pro in the 60's,70's and 80's how the boxing landscape might have been altered.

I subscribe to HBO and showtime specifically for their boxing programs. Showtime airs showbox the first saturday of every month and Dzindziruk vs Santos fight would have been an excellent fight for the audience but instead they show some scrubs who no one is even interested in.
