Not so fast Senor. Read my post on that fight thread. Many an aster ix attached to Garcia's win -most salient is Matthysse fought most of the fight injured with only one eye. Do you think Garcia could have not only survived Matthysse but fought a close fight with only 1 eye?

An Alvarez win would be a breath of fresh air for boxing, but the vast gulf in experience and level of opposition between the two (never mind the weight drain) is giving me last minute reservations about Canelo's chances. I don't see how he can pull it off. Just count me a naysayer on this one. I think the Mexican has been rushed and that's going to cost him. He's going to school tonight.

No offense (The Hock has been edging towards the door).

The commentary is brutal. They keep making it sound like Mayweather is winning. BS.

Tough luck for Canelo. He can't help it if Mayweather was imitating the opening scene of a space odyssey. Mayweather started ooking when he heard one of the judges scored it a draw as were the liberal sackless brits.

What a dull main event! Mayweather is such a pitty-pat tapper. Nothing behind his punches. The fight was exactly as I predicted. I wrote weeks ago Canelo doesn't throw enough volume and his stamina is too poor to beat this shrimp who fights sideways. I don't know what anyone on this site was thinking in picking Canelo to win?

We all knew he couldn't win a decision in crooked Las Vegas. 117-111. Yeah right. What did the black bum do to win a decision, scamper away all night? How did one honest judge slip in there anyway?

Well we knew it had to be a knock out but of course Mayweather kept moonwalking the whole night like the punk he is. The brit commentary was outraged a judge scored it a tie. The most embarrasing thing to see the whole night was that little girl Bieber as part of Mayweather's entourage.

    "What a dull main event!"

And the second main event wasn't that great either. These little guys are boring.

Point taken, but I tend to view that you tend to make your own breaks in a big fight. Also Matthysse is going to be avoided more then ever without a belt unless Schaeffer and friends can maintain his high ranking. Who needs to fight him for a less than mid 6 figure purse?

It's almost as if these are staged events for Mayweather though they're likely not. No one is going to beat this shrimp with such dull, predictable moves, foot work, and combinations as Canelo et al throw. It's no secret how to beat him: either over power him with speed and skill, and there have been boxers who could do that, or fight him roughly with volume from wild angels, positions, and combinations. The weasel feeds on these slow, predictable, plodders who know only a few patterns. Canelo's 40 punch rounds from distance were mostly a waste of time. The judges were all very kind to him.

Mercifully I didn't have to listen to the USSA zogcommentators foaming at the mouth. That alone is worth a lot.

Wait a minute - are you talking about that little cannibal thing that cake walked in with Mayweather with no shirt on chanting mother ****er this and that. That was a "girl"? I thought it was something they borrowed from the zoo.

Then they had all that black "royalty" in attendance, and some ape monkeying up what was once the national anthem. Compare that with the patriotism of the Mexicans! And what was Jack Nicholson chawing on? The USSA is a total embarrassment, to put it mildly.

Floyd won that fight by 3 or 4 pts. I accept that. Canelo did not commit to the body. Hence the out come. Lucus tho got hosed. he won that fight by 2 or 3 pts. Guys, no big deal, Floyd is a great fighter, and has played the game perfect. But he is just one negro, the rest are a mess who will get blown out.

It was. The commentary kept saying Canelo was all bruised up and Mayweather's nog was clean. I only saw one visible cut above Canelo's eye and that was it. Mayweather hardly did any damage to Canelo. On other hand, the shrimp afleet was too quick for Canelo's big punches. Canelo was just a tad second too late for the KO opportunities.

Matthysse should, and may get a rematch with Garcia. Matthysse will win the if they fight again. If Matty can't get a rematch, everyone will think Garcia is a coward. Matty can otherwise go and fight the rest of the gang out there. Someone will fight him.

I lost my prediction, but only because of the injury. The better man just had bad luck.

Yes. They were being ridiculous with their Mayweather-worship. It was a closer fight than thay were saying, and Mayweather was running away much of the time.

Mayweather didn't try to stop Canelo, he just wanted to win another boring decision.
It was a poor quality PPV, definitely not worth the price.

The eye problem was bad luck for Matthysse, if he could see I think he likely would have stopped Garcia late. Despite that, I scored it 114-112 for Matthysse, but it seemed Golden Boy and Showtime wanted Garcia to win.

The best fight of the night was Cano-Theopane. I thought Cano won wide by 98-92, it should have been UD not SD.

Yeah, one thing Matty could have done better was quantity. I think he was a bit cautious for the threat of a counter.

I was rooting for M but I actually think that Garcia is the better fighter, and I don't know if I'd attribute any of that to M's eye. His punches were flailing compared with Garcia's short straight accurate punches, and Garcia's defense was impressive. I disagree with Ambrose. I'd pick Garcia again in a rematch.

My mistake I should have said girl(s).
Nothing about Mayweather's intro made me want to root for him not even the typical negro sung star spangled anthem. You could tell the crowd was mostly rooting for Canelo. All da brothas that showed up in support of Mayweather should feel ashamed of Mayweather. He fought like a scared little bitch.:boxing:

Good points, but easier said than done I guess. He's a slimy little weasel good at running away. I'd favor bulling in on him, and I thought that Hatton was doing good on the inside (Yow - that was six years ago!) but the Cortez crook kept distracting him and wouldn't let him fight on the inside. In fact it seems that none of the refs, at least in Las Vegas, let people fight on the inside and/or fight their way out of clinches. They kept yelling Stop stop stop everytime they got inside. Maybe what they should be doing isntead is not allowing fighters to grab the opponents head in a headlock on the inside and otherwise clinch.

It's clear all Mayweather cares about is making money by dancing around and having the judges kiss his ass in the end. Canelo still has a long career ahead of him. As of now Canelo has more career KO's than Mayweather. That number should climb up.

Well, I'll ask you the same question I asked earlier: do you think that Garcia could have survived Matty if Garcia had only 1 eye to see with? Do you think Garcia could have made a close fight with only 1 eye?
