Ovechkin has been a beast over the past two months. Since he was named Team Captain his team has won 18 of 20 games. Last night in an OT loss to Montreal, he checked giant Hal Gill and the Habs' goalie from the crease into the net, with the puck going in as well. The refs called "Goal" in real-time, but later overruled the goal, stating that Montreal goalie was unable to play the puck.

Mr. Eight is starting to pull away from the rest of the NHL scoring elite, both in goals and total points

Ovechkin is a beast of a player and then some. The Caps are having a dream regular season, but guess who I'll be pulling for in the playoffs?
