those kinds of numbers are INCREDIBLY impressive and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he were to win the Defensive POY (i did put him on my 1st team All-American list, after all
), but when it comes to the NFL draft it doesn't seem like production matters very much.
much more often you see guys who are "workout freaks" who show impressive sprinting and jumping ability at the combine move WAY up the board, regardless of their playmaking ability. coaches and GMs usually feel that they can "coach up" a special physical specimen into becoming a good player. often they fail miserably, but much like with the prevalence of black "studs" in the draft every year that end up sucking donkey balls, coaches and GMs never seem to learn from their mistakes.
the only way Hawk will be drafted that high is if he has a really fast 40 and good bench reps, rather than the other way around where production matters more and then size/speed stuff comes in second.
