The winner of the epic all white Klitscko Ibragimov fight will have both the IBF and WBO crowns. However, he will have two mandatory (I believe mandatory) defenses already lined up, Tony Thompson for the WBO and Povetkin for the IBF. This will clutter up the fight calendar for the Klitscko Ibragimov winner and make a further unification bout (against Chagaev for example) that much further in the future.
Wouldn't it make sense for Povetkin and Thompson to have a challenger unification fight to match the title unifier fight, with the winner to face the winner of Klitscko Ibragimov? Edited by: referendum

The IBF will mess this up. IF the winner of Klitschko-Ibragimov were to fight The IBF will strip them of their title just like they did Calzahge for fighnting Mnafredo.

It would be better for the fans and the sport of boxing, but neither camp would do that unless the money was too good to pass up. Thompson without his mandatory spot isn't much of draw as he wasn't even a headliner in the Baltimore /DC area. That's saying a lot since both cities boxing scences are very Afro-centric....
