The discussion on the NFL news thread about White players being pushed out of the tackle position sparked my curiosity about exactly what the racial numbers currently are on the offensive line. So I did some research and this is what I came up with:
Left tackle: 12 of 32 starters are White (37.5%)
Right tackle: 12 of 32 starters are White (37.5%)
Left guard: 17 of 32 starters are White (53.1%)
Right guard: 16 of 32 starters are White (50.0%)
Center: 27 of 32 starters are White (84.4%)
Left tackle actually isn't as bad as I thought it would be - it's still whiter than any defensive position. Right tackle, which used to be a little more white-friendly, has been purged a little more over the past few years. Guard has remained consistently hovering around 50/50. Center is by far the whitest position on the field aside from special teams - as the quarterback position has gotten darker, center has remained very white.
