Since 2006 the white starter roll call reads 3,4,3,4,3,4,4,3,3,2,4,3,4,6 and 1 last year. This year looks like 5.

I was anxious to sink my teeth into this team and break down their defense. Ha. These numbers are important. 1-16, 11 strikeouts and a batting average of .063. Those are the baseball numbers from QB John Rhys Plumlee and hopefully he continues to improve on the football field where he can dump any delusional belief left that baseball is an option. A few good games in a row with a home run or two mixed in would be enough to keep his MLB dreams alive. It takes so little for white athletes to chase their often foolhardy attempts to play baseball.

With their new unreliable HC Lane Kiffin around know one is sure if Plumlee or Matt Corral will secure the starting role. I am fully aware Plumlee as a QB is a work in progress but he will have no room to improve if he is relegated to coming off the bench for "special occasions." To me we know he can run and it is a thrill to watch him gallop past SEC defenses but I am looking at the big picture. And that means if he wants to get drafted down the road he needs to show scouts he can "pass" the passing tests. He has two to three years to improve his passing and overall QB skills. Baseball athletes are generally very adaptable so I think he will progress nicely in those areas as along as he is given a chance. He is a supremely electric talent and an important one when discussing caste.

Players to watch: QB Matt Corral, OL Eli Acker and LB Luke Knox.

    OFFENSE:
    QB John Rhys Plumlee (SO)
    OG Royce Newman (SR)
    OG Ben Brown (JR)
    OT Nick Broeker (SO)
    OT Jeremy James (FR)

    Kiffin is the problem.

At least John Rhys Plumlee had 1k+ yards in 2019, this means he can still throw the ball if any QB doing no good.
Matt Corral has his problems too, last year he is poor man version of Shea Patterson (in Ole Miss), any coach giving Corral more snaps would
only ruin the 'Plumlee show' we saw last year, not a team to root for, but watching John Rhys Plumlee run is fun.

I expected Kiffin to do this. I think Plumlee should be used as a weapon - QB, RB, WR if Corral is starting all season.

Mississippi redshirt sophomore QB Matt Corral is listed as the starter on the depth chart released ahead of Saturday's game against Florida.

Corral (6'1/206) battled 2019 starting quarterback John Rhys-Plumlee in camp and has the edge heading into Saturday, being listed first but still being tagged with an "or" between the two signal callers. Much of the speculation coming from Ole Miss practices has been centered around Corral's superior passing acumen giving him the edge over Plumlee. The depth chart release give credence to these rumors, as new HC Lane Kiffin prefers a gunslinger under center as opposed to a run-first QB like JRP. We will have more clarity on this situation when Ole Miss travels to the swamp to take on Florida Saturday.

Taysom Hill and Matt Jones (former Arkansas starting QB) were quarterbacks in college and transitioned in the pros. It looks like this maneuver will hang Plumlee out to dry and if he doesn't end up being a starting QB his chances of getting any NFL interest will be reduced.

Some here have mentioned he should play another position anyway but it looks like at least initially Plumlee will be used as a "special occasions" plug in player. Time will tell whether this role can be parlayed into an NFL career but that will be a big mountain to climb. I will wait to see how things play out but I don't trust Kiffin. His first hand out of the block isn't inspiring confidence.

I agree though with Leonardfan that if he isn't starting I want to see him on the field in other capacities.

I do not trust Kiffin at all either. He's been nothing but a caste bozo and the beneficiary of nepotism which kept his career afloat.

Lane Kiffin is a cuck! John Rhys Plumlee had the talent to rush for 214 yards last year against LSU and is the fastest QB in the nation. Yet Kiffin won't play him. Rebels are 1-3 and it looks set to be 4 seasons of misery while Kiffin is at the helm...

Total disrespect for the best athlete on New Piss. Agreed Kiffin has long been a Cuck!
