Since 2006 Miami started 4, 4, 2, 4, 2, 4, 5, 3, 4, 4, 3, 3, and 4 whites making them one of THE consistently black teams in all of college football, never starting more than 5 whites. No surprise this year to see their depth chart list out only 2 whites and only a handful on the 2 deeps as well.

Only reason to bat an eye at this team is to see if OSU transfer Tate Martell is able to take the field after the media had a good laugh and gleefully reported that white boy got beat out by future reparations recipient Freshman Jarren Williams

Caste bad you bet. The worst this season? Apparently not given that senior DE with the TE number of 19 Scott Patchan is getting a starting nod. I vaguely recall seeing him on the field last year but Miami is a team I usually avoid watching at all costs.

But this Tate Martell story is beyond frustrating. As mentioned on another thread there is now talk of moving him to WR. Which makes you wonder what chances he would have of getting on the field as a WR since he has been a dual threat QB his entire career? Probably slight.

It is very difficult for me to understand his transfer to Miami. I have felt he should have stayed at Ohio State. But even though he transferred, why Miami?

Except for last season Ohio State has employed an offense built around running QBs the last decade or so and both Justin Fields and Tate Martell are true blue dual threat QBs. So the system at Ohio State is tailor made for his playing style as evidenced by his success when he did get playing time last season.

I can't recall Miami employing an offense that relies on a dual threat QB. Typically their QB's are classic drop back passers.

So I am confused as to why Martell jumped on Miami.

That said I predict Martell will take over the starting QB job sooner rather than later. It would not surprise me if Martell comes into the game Saturday night to replace the struggling Williams. He is too dynamic to rot on a bench at the college level. Improvising talents like Martell never show their full strengths during "controlled" practices. Put him in when the lights are on? That's when the real fun starts.

Tate Martell transfers there last year - is relegated to third string behind a doughy quoatback and hyped up black quarterback. This year another hyped up quoatback transfers in and is handed the starting job. Martell was stupid for going there in the first place but this is the type of cautionary tale white athletes need to get through their heads.

Miami named redshirt senior QB D'Eriq King starter for the 2020 season.
King (5'11/195) was essentially a foregone conclusion to start this fall, but here's the official word. The Hurricanes are hoping that the former Houston gunslinger can ignite an offense that looked pitifully, woefully ineffective for much of the 2019 season with QB Jarren Williams pulling the proverbial levels. If everything gels and King can stay healthy, he has the potential for huge numbers upcoming. Back in 2018, his last near-full season (he was knocked out late with a knee injury), King threw for 2,982 yards while posting a 36/6 TD/INT ratio. He added 674 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns as a runner that season. We would not discount the possibility of a Heisman-worthy campaign in 2020, assuming the season ever actually reaches that point.
