The idiot Turks had pretty much won the game against USA earlier today, first in regulation, then in OT, wasting numerous opportunities, it’s a shame. But I think this means that one of the better teams in the elimination rounds, such as Spain, Australia or Serbia can and hopefully will beat them.

Serbia never trailed and led by as many as 25, as they defeated USA earlier today, 94-89. this is the second loss in a row in the 2019 Fiba Basketball World Cup for the basketball-Americans, who will finish in (at best) 7th place in the tournament.
this version of team yo-BA was a disaster, primarily because of all the egos of the “superstar” players who kept quitting or never bothered to show up at all, causing a massive roster disruption and multiple chemistry issues. the resulting team was talented, but they didn’t have time to gel, and the results clearly showed.
Bogdan Bogdanovic was unstoppable for Serbia and led all scorers with 24, but it was their balanced scoring and unselfish sharing of the basketball that really shined.
USA was led by Harrison Barnes and Kemba Walker on offense, but they were both abused by Serbia’s pick-and-roll, and America’s bigs couldn’t contain the faceup game of the Serbian big men.

Spain vs Argentina for the gold medal, did not see this coming. The two teams combine for literally zero diversity among the full rosters, 24/24 white!

The one Achilles Heal of the US will always be their big men and without a dominant low post player the team can always be abused . Rudy Gobert who isn't a real offensive presence abused the US in the low post in the minor upset in the quarterfinals.
Even with Drama Queen James, this would still be a problem I did notice a Plumlee was on this team but he never left the bench in the video I saw of the elimination game.
