Jackson McChesney has so much potential. In addition to playing football he was also a sprinter in high school and a very talented one. The kid is so explosive and he is not even in top shape
yet. He just finished up his mission work and is only a freshman that hasn't played much this year. He will be the main man for the final few games and the bowl game.

Could we be seeing the next Luke Staley type at BYU? It's very possible as this kid can flat out play. Jackson is big, fast, elusive, powerful and explosive. Best news of the day so far! :)

Tyler Snead picked up right where he left off from the bye week, 16 catches for 126 yards. Lots of dink and dunk but back to back games with 15+ catches is impressive.

UCLA WR Kyle Phillips is 7-94 so far against USC and it isn’t even halftime yet. Will they keep getting him the ball or let him fizzle out the 2nd half?

I’m a little behind in the Wisconsin-Purdue game.
Horvath just ripped off a 25-30 yard run.....
He’s been hardly running since September...
Good to see him power his way for a long run...
Barely a compliment from the announcers...

Yep, it looks like the Heisman voters are gonna pull a ‘Peyton Manning’. Just can’t pick between Burrow and Fields so we’re going with a black defensive player..........

Wouldn't surprise me - even though Burrow has gone up against top 10 teams 4 times this year and overpowered them all as well as laying waste to the SEC (the best conference according to the "experts") all season. Gerhart getting screwed over by Ingram for the Heisman is all the proof one needs to illustrate black favoritism/bias when it comes to the award.

Yep and McCaffrey losing to Derrick Henry... both white running backs from Stanford with better stats losing out to black RB’s from Alabama. No way Derrick Henry deserved that Heisman when all he did was run the ball. CMC ran it, caught it, and returned kickoffs/punts that year and scored TD’s in all of those ways. It’ll be a disgrace if Joe Burrow doesn’t win it.

Close to no chance at a camp invite, hopefully I’m wrong.....

Jake Chisholm 166 yards rushing for Dayton.
I haven’t seen any of their games.....

I need to keep an eye on this kid. He’s a sophomore.

Don’t get a lot of small school games on direct tv.

Yep, Dalton Rigdon out today with the concussion from last week. McLane Mannix starting with Rigdon out. Hopefully Mannix can bounce back from the game losing fumble last week.

Purdue ... seriously, WTF is wrong with this team’s offense? i’ve watched a lot of football in my life, and i can’t make sense of their offensive “philosophy” at all.

today was the first time this season i’ve seen them play, and they’re just terrible. there’s no threat of a running game AT ALL despite a big tailback (Horvath) who is explosive enough to return kickoffs and is obviously capable of picking up blitzes on passing plays. Horvath also can break tackles, so he’s clearly a physical runner and he has good hands. so why don’t they at least give him enough touches to keep defenses honest?!? just terrible!

otherwise, just go 4 or 5 wide every play and completely sell out to an “air raid” attack like old school BYU or modern Washington State. but even they have the threat of the running game. like i said, Purdue’s offense is just offensive.

**********

Horvath is a talented kid. i wonder what he could do if given a legit opportunity.

Looks like Mizzou WR Barrett Banister is in their starting lineup now. I hope thus is a sign that he will become a full time starter next season, the SEC needs one.

Air Force WR Ben Waters is amazing!! He had a 4-171-2 game today! What a game, his season stats are an incredible 17-546-6. That is an unheard of 32 yards per catch. I’m impressed.

Anyone know what's going on with KSU's RB Harry Trotter? I don't see him getting playing time this evening.

With another good game he could reach 1000 yards for the season. If not then it would likely be the first season we don’t have a 1000 yard receiver since 1993 I believe.

They let Horvath run the ball 4 times the whole game. Meanwhile the freshman rb King (Trash) got 9 carries and did nothing with the opportunity. Why the hell did they give a freshman
9 carries and the junior Horvath gets next to none despite breaking off a 27 yard run and averaging over 4 yards per touch? Oh I forgot he is a white rb. Back to the bench white boy. :(

Horvath actually played the majority of the snaps ... but he was almost exclusively used in pass protection. i just don’t get it.

I had the KSU - TT game on and I saw Trotter in on one play and that was for pass pro which he did well. For Mizzou I watched Bannister make a circus sideline catch. I'll just guess that Hovarth is real book smart and understands the game and is being used like John Kuhn was in the Packers' pass game, but it's a shame he is not given the rock which like the Packers when they faced a team that would drop 7 the checkdown pass to the FB would have moved the chains like a Freightliner, but of course Rogers was always looking downfield.

They don't call it The Game for nothing. Ha. More on that later.

There were some really screwy moments yesterday that stand out but overall a business as usual week.

As mentioned above East Carolina freshman WR Tyler Snead has a ridiculous 35 catches in his past two games! Other wide receivers of note include San Jose State's Bailey Gaither who had a decent game and Air Force's Benjamin Waters had a huge chunk yard stat line.

Notably Notre Dame's Chris Finke had a solid game with a TD so his momentum is on the upswing. WR Dalton Schoen of Kansas State had a quiet game but their sophomore DE Wyatt Hubert once again came up with some huge late game sacks as they took care of Texas Tech who as mentioned above was playing without WR Dalton Rigdon due to a concussion. UCLA sophomore WR Kyle Philips had another nice game but their all black defense was destroyed by the young USC QB Kedon Slovis

I was getting a local feed of the BYU game but it was a noon game and I can't watch five games at once. Kind of wished I peaked in now. RB Jackson McChesney is not a new name to me or this site but that was years ago. What I remember is that he ran a 4.49 40 yard dash as an underclassmen. I think I have this right. He graduated in 2017 and I believe he went on a two year mission. I also thought at one point he tore his ACL but I might be mistaken??

They can still redshirt him but that is irrelevant at this point. He is or is nearly 21 so he can put his name into the draft at anytime. OK I am getting ahead of myself but based on his high school exploits and his breakout game yesterday Jackson is a nice late season surprise. I noticed BYU QB Zach Wilson has been back and playing well. They extended their head coaches' contract. Not a big fan but going into next season BYU should be a team to root for. A shame star LB Zayne Anderson has been banged up all year and probably severely hurt his NFL draft chances?

There was a lot of righteous howling around here when Tom Herman became the Texas head coach. Here was a guy whose whole body was dipped in caste juice. Recruiting all everything Jake Smith looked like a nice coup but now it looks like a mistake. In fact the whole thing reminds me of ex LSU WR Trey Quinn. Like Quinn, Smith is a star white WR playing for a team that is nearly totally caste. Smith has been used as an afterthought dink and dunk type and his usage has gone way down as the season progressed. We all know what happened to Quinn. He lasted two seasons and by his second year LSU had no desire to integrate him into the offense.

Meanwhile Herman has put together an awful program. A deep dish caste defense that stinks to high heaven and without a white player on D within miles I would love to see Texas can his sorry ass.

Speaking of LSU unless QB Joe Burrow really screws up against A & M he should win the Heisman. Ohio States DE Chase Young has been terrific and he will likely be invited to the ceremony but keep in mind he also missed a couple of games due to some NCAA issues.

Penn State gave Ohio State their first scare of the year but without those turnovers the Buckeyes were generally in control. The problems with Ohio State are well documented here. Their offenses have been totally caste over recent years and they haven't had white DBs in ages. The Dustin Fox years? But the one reason I am less hard on them as others here is they have had top notch white defensive players. Maybe not a lot of white bodies overall but quality over quantity when you consider tip top draft picks the Bosa brothers and Sam Hubbard. The people that post about Ohio State here at CF never root for them. While they aren't Iowa the fact that they have at least one or two stud white defensive players softens me up. I think people here know by now how much importance I place on a team having excellent white defenders.

Lost in the Chase Young hysteria ( and I admit he is damn good) was the sensational play of LB Pete Werner. Werner was in charge of Penn State's terrific TE Pat Freiermuth and he blanketed him the entire game holding PF to a 6-40 stat line on 11 targets. The announcers were slow to warm up to junior Werner's play but admitted he is versatile enough to play safety at times. A real athlete the rangy Werner led his team in tackles with 10 and was a key difference maker in the game. He even made a play deep down field. MLB Tuf Borland was his usual solid self and while the offense is a generally a caste cloud they have a stable of white stud TEs including sophomore Jeremy Ruckert.

Out of the top teams only Clemson and Ohio State have the kind of defenses that spell national championship.

Sorry to report Iowa CB Riley Moss was nowhere to be seen in their Illinois game. I guess a starter returned and that was the end of that. Iowa looked sluggish but their superior talent overwhelmed caste laden Illinois. I mentioned his name briefly a few weeks ago but freshman DE Joe Evans #13 had a key sack and is a quick twitch terror on the outside. One to look out for next season. Another player to keep an eye on is Indiana sophomore LB Micah McFadden who is a live wire. And we all know about big and bad Aidan Hutchinson ( who was terrific yesterday) as Michigan shook off Indiana like a bad cold. These type of players are a big reason the Big Ten is my favorite Power 5 conference.

Much maligned Michigan QB Shea Patterson is coming on like a runaway locomotive of late. He was stunning yesterday (20-32-365-5) as he took apart the Indiana defense and if he is able to put up a big performance against a top notch defense like Ohio State this coming Saturday he could vault into the first round of the draft. Worth noting versatile Wisconsin RB Garrett Groshek had a nice game. Will he get his touches next year? I hope so.

Very frustrated TCU couldn't quite overtake toxic Oklahoma. They almost made a valiant comeback. TCU QB Max Duggan had some nice runs fueling their comeback.

Enough about the grade school stuff. Now the main menu. By the way when I have some time I want to do a sneak peak for the Ivy League next season but safe to say "The Game" was the most exciting game of the season and wildest to boot. When I flipped back to ESPNU figuring that halftime was over they were airing the Oklahoma State game which was on another ESPN channel. I thought ESPN screwed up and started to panic. It took about ten minutes or so until I found out about the half time protest. I think it was a first in the sense that both students from Harvard and Yale participated in the half time climate change sit down. A mainly all honky event it could have been worse. It could have been a "black protest" which would have really brought me to a boil.

Obviously the game is super charged and Yale was too hyper and nervous to get anything done in the early portions. Their QB Rawlings looked lost and they didn't establish a running game with Zudek ( see Rocky post above). But this powerhouse offense can't be contained for an entire 60 minutes. Both stud wide receivers JP Shohti and Reed Klubnik started to get more involved and Shohti, a pro prospect in my book, made the tying TD catch in the 4th quarter and Klubnik recovered the on side kick late in the game as Yale rallied back from a big deficit in the fourth quarter. And they get a share of the Ivy League title with Dartmouth. Job well done.

Dudek of course had a couple of big touchdowns as well in what was a quiet game for him. But the heart stopping overtime was not only thrilling but they were up against the clock as well. Do you know that the Yale Bowl does not have lights? That halftime interruption pushed the time up. The announcers were convinced they were going to call the game because of darkness and it was around 4:30 or so and it was getting dicey by the time Harvard started what turned out to be their last drive. I wasn't in downtown New Haven yesterday but it must have been a zoo.

You want drama you got it. What did I say in my primer? Be there or be square. Ha what a game. Historic!!!!!!

I always look forward to the weekly wrap by TwentyTwo. Always on the top of his game. Just a standout member here at CF and he gives this site a lot of legitimacy.

One more week left in the "regular season."
