Commissioner Skeletor has just suspended the NBA Season. Apparently Black "Frenchman" Rudy Gobert has tested positive. The hysteria around Coronavirus is full speed ahead.

This is truly unprecedented. I’ve never in my lifetime seen hysteria like we’re seeing now over this Chinese flu. Oh wait....I seem to recall an election in 2016 that nearly rocked the world off its orbit....

But seriously...suspending the NBA season because one player tested positive? Good grief!!!

That's all this is, an exercise in hysteria. That's what I said at a town meeting once, back when London had a plague epidemic (70k dead), the London mayor and council did what they could to maintain calm, nowadays, it's the government that keeps revving up hysteria.

How would you know the NBA has cancelled its season?

at least the WNBA won’t have to close, there are no fans there already!

I wonder if the virus goes away if they will bring back any of the sports to finish the seasons this year? It's strange with everything from baseball to hockey to basketball
    all being canceled.

Gotta say Zion putting up for the salaries of his team and arena employees is big. Congrats to him.

100% right Mac is a wigger, why would you play for a nigg-r like ewing and be around all that TNB down at Georgetown, what does DWJ mean?

Hello wokewhite232 and welcome to CF. I could be wrong, but I don't think McClung had a lot of D-1 offers coming out of HS. Believe it or not he wasn't heavily recruited by the big boys at Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, etc. I think it came down to two, Rutgers and Georgetown. They may have been the two biggest names in D-1 that were recruiting him. Maybe his thought was; get as much exposure as possible by playing D-1 instead of settling for Wofford, UNC Greensboro, etc.

he could have went to one of those aforementioned schools (Wofford, UNC Greensboro, Liberty, etc...) Would actually benefit him as he would be the focal point of the offense with a better coach. Ja Morant did just fine going to Murray State and could have been buried at a bigger school. Mac playing for Ewing was a huge mistake, hopefully he wakes up and does what is best for him and his career.

I would say leading the team in scoring is the focal point of the offense. I guess I was thinking more of him NOT being a wigger just because he went to Georgetown. Again, I think he only had two D-1 offers. Playing D-1 would better prepare him for what's going to be a lot scrutiny coming his way, and we all know why. Better for him to have led a D-1 team in scoring and possibly the Big East before he graduates than to have led a D-1 AA league.

You're right CSpeed. Makes more sense for McClung to go to a highly recognized D1 program/ conference and be the team's leading scorer than a marginal school/program. He has a tough road ahead regardless. This at least gives him something of a shot and if he continues to excel without being highly drafted it just further proves our point. Also, the style of play at Georgetown better fits his game and attributes too. He is a smart kid . Georgetown is a very good academic institution by current standards and I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't an academic all American at some point in his career.

A quick google search shows he had 30 D1 offers as a 3 star prospect. An argument could be made that Georgetown was the best basketball school.

I have no idea why this wigger is loved here so much but at least it seems to be genuine. Theres got to be 20 white american college basketball players with a better shot to make an nba impact, but to each their own.

It depends on what you call D-1. Yes Bucknell is D-1 in BB, but D-1AA(FCS) in football. Bucknell offered, but are you going to Bucknell or Georgetown?
Yes I said he didn't have many D-1 offers. I guess because of his talent, he should have been offered by the likes of Duke, UNC, Kansas, etc.
    A list of his D-1, D-1AA offers
Air Force, Boston College, Bucknell, Cal Poly, Central Arkansas, UT- Chattanooga, Cleveland State, Drake, Duquesne, E. Tenn. State, Elon, Kent State, Marshall, Miami(OH), Murray State, Oakland, ODU, Quinnipiac, Radford, Rice, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Tennessee Tech, William and Mary, Wofford, and Yale.
I never said I loved him. I just think he made the best decision based on what was offered to him. Seton Hall would have been a good choice as well, but I'm not him.
Honestly, I don't know enough about McClung to call him a wigger, whatever wigger means? I don't really care. He's an outstanding white BB player is all I know about him.

McClung is from rural western Virginia. I’m sure he chose Georgetown as it was the closest offer from a power conference program. Ewing may not be a good coach from a tactical perspective but he’s given Mac plenty of playing time from day 1, and at this point, the offense basically runs through him.
