It took me a minute to figure out who was who Jersey color wise, then I remembered there's no way England doesn't have multiple Sub Saharan Africans as starters let alone zero.

England actually started just 5 whites with 6 blacks. As Rebajlo mentioned, Trippier is part black. All I've got to say, they're lucky they've got Harry Kane, because their many black forwards (who mostly seem to play the same) could not finish to save their lives against a very average Tunisian side who bunkered for nearly the entire match. I mentioned in the qualifying thread I was worried about "England's" total lack of white midfielders/forwards, and I was right. Southgate eschewed players like Jack Wilshire, Jonjo Shelvey, and Adam Lallana (not %100 fit) for a bunch of (very similar) black forwards. The result: your white midfielders/forwards? Kane, Jordan Henderson, Eric Dier, and Jamie Vardy; the latter likely will never play with Kane up top. England are 1 or 2 players away from being France.

On a more positive note, it was great to see Sweden beat South Korea sporting an all-Swedish XI!! They did finish with a black striker, but still, a LOT better than I'd have expected from Sweden.

Belgium are a little better than expected: 8 whites starting with 7 finishing the match. Hopefully they beat "England."

'My bad', as you Americans say, I was tricked by Trippier! He must be a Quadroon or an Octoroon? Good to see Kane do well, but if they think they can win the WC they are deluded. It was fantastic to see an all-White Sweden team, so many blonde, blue-eyed players that the diversity brigade would be apoplectic!

A great start for Japan! Colombia must have the most mongrelised team at the WC?!

Japan v Columbia was entertaining, though not exactly high quality, football. I felt a bit bad for the Columbian defender who was sent off as his arm wasn't in an unnatural position as he was jumping. A yellow card and a penalty would've been enough punishment. So the guy's World Cup may have lasted only three minutes! It was also a defending error by someone else running forward and getting caught out of position that gave the Japanese the breakaway opportunity in the first place.

Anyway, up next it's the white Poles versus the black Senegalese.

Senegal player Ismaila dives and stays on ground, gets ball minute later and is completely fine, tries to get a penalty by diving again.

The big controversy surrounds the Senegal substitute player who sprinted ahead of the pack for the second goal. Looked like a hockey shift and the goal in my mind is totally tainted. The ref used poor judgement and the Polish players were caught sleeping. An unfortunate turn of events that led to Senegal's win. Worse than the France goal but twice now black or heavily black teams got LUCKY in their 2-1 wins. (France and Senegal).

What is the forum's take on the referee waving the Senegal player on the field and then the guy getting the cherry pick goal? As a casual soccer fan, it looked completely bogus to me. The guy comes onto the field, is in front of all the defenders, and gets an immediate goal? Doesn't look like it was within the rules.

Great win for Russia as they beat Egypt 3-1. If they haven't locked up advancing to the second round they are very close. Not many people thought they would even get this far. Great for the nation and great for this team.

It wasn't illegal. If you're Poland you have to be aware of what's happening at all times. Overall a terrible performance, first the own goal and then the fluke game winner by Senegal, and then we are treated to some kind of tribal dance BS afterwards. Just hoping these African teams are all eliminated at the group stage, but Senegal might make it out of this weak group, and of course France, the other African team will still be in the picture.

Russia is a 2nd rate team, but they are feasting on weak opposition and with the crowd and wining momentum behind them, maybe they make a run to the quarters. White team with white fans, definitely one to root for.

Now that they have entered the second round I have very little feel as to who will emerge. If I had to pick one it would be Spain who play with intelligence and cohesion.

I did not see either Brazil or Germany but based on reports they don't inspire confidence. I have seen France and I don't like their approach. Their young black "stars" are all solo artists and I just don't see them having the discipline or togetherness to pull through at the end.

Poland has talent but they played a brainless match.

Both Peru and Denmark displayed the sort of feistiness I haven't seen in too many other teams so they can't be entirely dismissed. I missed the Belgium match so can't comment on them. Mexico is always dangerous. At least one of these four teams could make a "dark horse" run. Not to win it all perhaps but maybe reach the semifinals.

As for England we know the "story." Somewhere along the way they will manage to screw it up in royal style. I will give them this. They always find a spectacular way to falter.

I miss Italy so much I can't stand it.

As for Argentina look for Messi to reassert himself. He is still a fabulous player. They play Thursday against Croatia.

Awesome win for Russia!! I'm glad to see them playing well, destroying two weaker teams, although Egypt was definitely better than Saudi Arabia. It's great to see Russia prove the media wrong, and are nearly through to the knockout stage. They're a pretty much all-white side with the fans behind them. Like CrazyFinn, they've got the look of the team who made be able to make a surprise run. I'm interested to see how they fare against Uruguay, although they haven't exactly looked like world-beaters either, struggling against the same Egypt side (without Mo Salah, their best player), needing a last minute goal to win.

Very disappointed with Poland. Although the ref allowing the Senegal player back onto the pick wasn't illegal, they were saying during the match how the ref will usually wait for a team to get full possession in a "safe area" before allowing a player back on from injury. Poland played like crap, though. From what I saw, they looked awful. Being the Polish automatically qualified this year, I was hoping they'd be able to buck their recent trend of under-performing their talent level in major tournaments. So far, looks like they won't be. Although they can still win against Japan and maybe Colombia.

Good to see Japan beat Colombia, who along with France may be the team most over-represented by blacks in the entire tournament, considering blacks make up just 10% of their entire population!

If I had to pick right who would win, Spain and Portugal have looked the best so far. I thought Croatia looked really good defending, but their offense needs to pick it up. Neymer might be hurt for Brazil, so that could really hurt them. As Shadowlight alluded to, neither them nor Germany impressed. Unless Germany get Khedira and Ozil out of the side (which even DWFs and some German media have suggested), I don't see them doing well. Russia have played great, but it's been against a very bad team and an average team. Again, like Shadow said, it's really difficult to predict at this point.

I think Portugal can do it, they seem to have a lot of luck, and Ronaldo of course!

I obviously want an all-White team to win, but they've flattered to deceive so far.

Poland left me very disappointed indeed...

Really? Croatia and Russia are all-White, and they are doing very well so far.
Fair enough, although the opposition they've faced has been weak.

I think I'm focusing on Poland too much, lol. They were so bad, I was really disappointed

Impossible to watch this Spain-Iran match with these godd@mn vuvuzelas, I've got it on mute. They need to ban this ridiculous, annoying African "contribution" to the game.
