Since 2005, Northwestern has started 12, 13, 15, 14, 15, 16, 15, 11, 11, 11, 12, 9 and 11 Whites. They are projected to start 10 white (12 if you count the Miller brothers who are white/asian). The depth on this team bodes very well for the future especially on the defensive side of the ball as all three levels have young players that should be contributors to the Wildcats defense for the next 3-4 seasons. The Wildcats also look to start 3 white WRs - this will be a must watch offense.

Two big names to follow are QB Clayton Thorson who by all reports has recovered well from the torn ACL experienced in the bowl game. Depending on how he plays this year he could potentially be picked in the top 3 rounds of the draft. The other is LB Paddy Fisher who had a very dominant first season for Northwestern in 2017.

Players to look out for include QB TJ Green, WR Charlie Fessler, TE (Superback) Trey Pugh, DT Ben Oxley, DE Trent Goens, DT Joe Spivak, DE Tommy Carnifax, DE Trevor Kent, LB Nathan Fox, LB Peter McIntyre, S Joe Bergin, S Austin Hiller, S Travis Whillock

Offense -
QB - Clayton Thorson
WR - Flynn Nagel
WR - Bennett Skoworek
WR - Riley Lees
LT - Blake Hance
LG - JB Butler
RG - Tommy Doles

Defense -
DE - Joe Gaziano
DT - Alex Miller*
DE - Sam Miller*
LB - Paddy Fisher
LB - Blake Gallagher

Nice! So many of these resent write ups have been a bummer to read.

Thanks Leofan.

This is more like it!!

Fitzgerald is a HC comfortable in his own skin and to his credit he doesn't follow lock step the rules of caste. And this team is damn exciting to boot with a mobile NFL type QB, albeit a torn ACL is always a bummer, and a white friendly receiving core. Stop the presses on that one!!

WR Riley Lees has a lot of talent and lets hope he gets a chance to shine this season.

And MLB Fisher is a stud. Nice depth on the roster too. Tough school too so not one of those dummy teams that plays with their heads up their asses. Just need a white or two in the defensive backfield to complete the good vibes feel.

GO Northwestern a team to root for big time.

They open at Purdue this Thursday night on National TV.

Yessir Coach Fitzgerald has been one of the best things to happen to Northwestern football. I like the make up of this team and as Shadowlight mentioned, this is a tough, physical team.
