From 2006 to 2012, New Mexico State started 10, 12, 12, 7, 5, 4, and 6 white players. No write-ups were done in 2013 or 2014. Since 2015, they have started 4, 4, and 6 white players. They remain at 6 for 2018, all on the offensive line aside from QB Matt Romero and FS Ron LaForce, 2017 All-Sun Belt second team with 104 tackles and 3 interceptions. Not a team to watch or root for, and I doubt they’ll win too many games.

Two running back freshmen on the roster in Josh Foley (Rio Rancho, New Mexico) and Alex Escobar (Peoria, Arizona). Foley was the 2016-17 New Mexico Gatorade Player of the Year, rushing for a gaudy 2,086 yards and 41 TDs as a senior (in addition to 5 receiving TDs and a 101-yard pick six). Two white WRs on the roster in FR Gaven Swinson and SO Sol Rascon, both in-state.

On defense, the aforementioned LaForce is the sole starter. RS JR Sy Slater is our other DB on the roster. Two back-ups in SR Jackson Solbeck at DT and SR Billy Nipp at LB.

Offense
QB: Matt Romero (JR)
LT: Sage Doxtater (JR)
LG: Brian Trujillo (JR)
C: Jamin Smith (SR)
RT: Sebastian Anderson (JR)

Defense
FS: Ron LaForce (SR)

Back-ups listed on the two-deep: C Billy Sharmoug, DT Jackson Solbeck, LB Billy Nipp.

LaForce is a tackling machine. Too bad hes a Sr. Already... Maybe he'll be eligible for a 5th year and can transfer as a Grad Student to somewhere worth a damn. Get the hell out of Las Cruces.
