Liberty will be making its first appearance as a (provisional) FBS member in 2018, before becoming a full FBS member, including bowl eligibility, in 2019. There has never been a CF write-up for Liberty. In 2018 Liberty project to start 8 white starters. Yet another one of those teams who has whites at QB, TE, and OL with a token one or two on defense but grab all the black "talent" they can at the other positions.

Liberty won the FCS Big South Conference in 2007-2010, 2012-2014, and 2016. Their Head Coach (2012 to present) is former Nebraska (1980-83) black quarterback Turner Gill, former head coach of Buffalo (20-30 record) and Kansas (5-19 record), with a 41-29 record at Liberty, including a 2017 win over Baylor.

At QB is Stephen Calvert, who threw for 1931 and 3363 yards the last two seasons, with TD/INT ratios of 15/9 and 29/6. Definitely improved from 2016 to 2017 and will hopefully only get better, although his completion percentages (57.3 and 58.7) could use some work. Threw for 447 yards and 3 TDs, completing 73.3% of his passes and rushing for a TD in the win over Baylor last season. No WRs listed on the depth-chart (has 8 names) but there are some on the roster - SO David Jeremiah, JR Josh Tully, FR JT Wood, SO Rudiger Yearick, R-FR Brody Brumm, and SO Michael Chorowicz. Hopefully some of these guys can get some playing time in 2018.

Two starters on defense in DT Vincent Elefante and LB Remington Green. The rest of the defensive starters is the usual black garbage players, but there are three DL back-ups and an LB back-up listed, and there are plenty more on the roster. Two true-freshmen CBs come in in Hunter Goetz and DJ Skelton

Offense
QB: Stephen Calvert (JR)
FB: Michael Bollinger (SO)
TE: Zac Foutz (JR)
LG: Ethan Crawford (JR)
C: Thomas Sargeant (SO)
RT: Tristian Schultz (SO)

Defense

LB: Remington Green (SO)

Back-ups listed on the two-deep include QB Mason Cunningham, FB Mitchell Lewis, LT Cooper McCaw, C Ben Fiordelise, RG James Passmore (great name for an offensive player!), RT Sam Isaacson, DE Dylan Gilfoy, DT Mitchell Hurtado, NG Ralf Rusins, and LB David King.
