I hope you guys don't get tired of hearing my recruiting stories about these colleges. ECU was one of the worst schools, we, my son and I, went to. When being recruited they were one of the schools that said they wouldn't recruit a white RB. We thought ECU would be a lock for a scholarship offer, being that one of my son's high school coaches brother was a coach there. True story, they recruited a black kid from a nearby city, that no doubt looked the part. About 6'2, 225, chiseled, coming out of high school, wasn't real fast, around a 4.7, but fast enough because of his skin tone. We had run the combine route with this guy and he couldn't catch a cold either. Despite never winning at the combines, and rushing for maybe 800-1000 yards/250 carries in a small division/high school, he was offered a full ride to ECU. After about three weeks this kid was back home! He did an interview with the local newspaper saying there wasn't anything to do at ECU but practice and go to class. Really? Later, I found out from a business friend of mine that this kid could barely read! His wife was a teacher at the high school he went to. BTW, they did offer my son a preferred walk-on. LOL.
Again, hope ya'll don't mind. Got a lot of time on my hands with the Hurricane hitting us hard! I got lots more stories! Maybe it'll help someone here in the future.

Always enjoy your stories and the first hand experience of the caste system. Your stories are proof that the gripes we have are legitimate.

    Stay safe!
