Im gonna go ahead and start a thread for our current white DBs on active NFL rosters, similar to our 2018 WRs thread. I count only a total of 15 white Safeties on all active rosters, with a few most likely getting cut. I didnt even try looking for white cbs :(. Post any guys I may have missed

    Nate Ebner- Patriots
    Jeff Heath- Cowboys
    Chris Maragos- Eagles
    Troy Apke- Redskins
    Eric Weddle- Ravens
    Clayton Fejedelum- Bengals
    Micah Hannemann- Browns
    Harrison Smith, Andrew Sendejo- Vikings
    Cody Davis - Jaguars
    Colin Jones - Panthers
    Chris Conte - Bucs
    Daniel Sorensen - Chiefs
    Dallin Leavitt - Raiders
    Jordan Simone - Seahawks

Slim pickings besides our 2 established stars in Weddle and Smith.. Conte, Heath, and Sendejo make up next tier.

Your post reminded me to check in on small school athletic freak Mason McKenrick who was generating draft buzz as a Safety/LB Hybrid. Looks like Ravens already cut him after starting the 6'3 218 pounder with 4.4 speed as an inside LB in a 3-4. What a joke.

Only 15 White safeties in the whole league is a damn joke, and you figure, each team carries 4 or 5 (that's less than 10%). Out of the 15, I'm expecting only 8 to be among the 64 starters, and believe it or not, this about as good as it's been in the last 5-10 years! I remember we had a bit of a resurrection at safety in the mid 2000s, but that was snuffed out in a matter of a few years.

Smith is probably the best safety in the league, with Weddle still firmly among the top 5.

Sendejo and Heath, I predict will at least be in the conversation for a pro-bowl nod by season's end.

Conte still in the top half at the position league-wide.

Jones and Sorensen are penciled in as starters as of now.

Davis and Fejedelem are listed as backups, however, the so-called starters atop their depth charts are nothing to write home about. Both should at least be heavily involved in the sub packages, perhaps stealing a starting job.

Apke is the guy I'm most excited about. Looking at the Redskins' preliminary depth chart, I don't see many barriers between Apke and a starting position. I hope he cracks the lineup at some point early in the season.

Sadly, the others will be nothing more than special teamers, assuming they even make the squad. When you've seen guys like Craig Steltz, Sabby Piscitelli, Landon Feichter, Vinnie Sunseri, Mike Caputo, etc., etc., basically flushed down the toilet, it's hard to be positive about the safety position...
