Since 2006 there have been 5, 4, 3, 8, 4, 5, 5, 5 4, and 5 whites at Alabama. Saban's plantation projects to start 6 whites in 2017. The Crimson Tide will be slightly more tolerable to watch, maybe even worth supporting if they had a white QB. Nick Saban is usually pretty good at keeping whites only at the approved positions QB,OL,TE, and token defender usually a LB'er.

Saban won't even be playing whites at QB this season, opting to start "quotaback" Jalen Hurts. The QB situation may look bleak for some time too, with a Poly back-up. 3rd string QB(Fr) Mac Jones has a bright future however, and hopefully he can make his mark down the road! Offensive-Line is a bright spot for the Tide this year, managing 4/5 whites and good depth! Their O-line is stacked with white talent, and they possibly could play a 5/5 "Snow-Plow" O-Line in certin match ups! LG-Ross Pierschbacher, C-Bradley Bozeman, and RG-J.C. Hassenauer are all projected to be taken early in the 2018 draft!

The Crimson Tide have some nice Tight Ends, with 3 whites on the depth chart! Starting TE Miller Forristall 6'5 238 has the skill set of a modern "move" TE, he's got great athleticism and hands but not much of a blocker. Hale Hentges is more of a traditional in-line TE, and he will likely spli snaps with Forristall.

Defensively it's about what you would expect from an SEC team, only 1 white starter. (Jr) Keith Holcombe will be that lone starter at MLB, and he's worked his ass off for it too! Holcombe's a big 6'4 236 athletic inside LB, that probably could've been a Safety. There's hardly any defensive depth, with Safety Keaton Anderson the only other scholarship athlete on defense. Anderson a sophomore has been mostly used a WSTD thus far, but he has the potential to be a starter!
Ones to look out for in 2017: QB(Fr) Mack Jones, OT(Fr) Scott Lashley, OG(Sr) J.C. Hassenaur, OT(Jr) Elliot Baker, TE(So) Miller Forristall 6'5 238 lbs, TE(Fr) Major Tennison, DB(So) Keaton Anderson, WR(Jr) Mac Hereford ( Only white WR on roster)

    Offense
TE: Jr. Hale Hentges 6'5 249

LT: So. Jonah Williams 6'5 301

LG: Jr. Ross Pierschbacher 6'4 303

    C: Sr. Bradley Bozeman 6'5 314

RT: So. Matt Womack 6'7 324

    Deffense

ILB: Jr. Keith Holcombe 6'4 236

    Special Teams
    LS: Fr. Scott Meyer
    K: Sr. Andy Pappanastos
    P: Sr. JK Scott

4 snowplows, athletic TE and a LB. For Bama that's good! Better depth wise than I expected for this team.

Haha yeah I would say there just a QB away from being a team I would support.

Jonah Williams definitely has top-10 draft pick written all over him for when he declares, hopefully he can solidify that this season and possibly climb even higher.

It looks like Saban won't be going white QB anytime soon with his beloved quotaback and ploy frosh backup though.

Deceptive Speed, I'm wondering how secure Holcombe is as an actual starter. Some recent depth chart analysis has him as a top backup at linebacker behind some of Saban's athletes. Would be great to see him actually out there starting, but with any SEC team any time I see a white player on defense I'm paranoid about their place in the pecking order.

I have seen some that has him as a backup too. However this article and a couple others say he's working with the first team D. http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2017/04/why_alabama_lb_keith_holcombe.html.
Regardless he should get a fair share of starts this year.

Alabama Mud Tide, typical caste team. Whitey can be O-line, tight end, and special teams, and that's it.

I'm hoping this fling that Saban has with Quotabacks recently, is what it is a fling. QB Mac Jones probably will be the No.3 QB, but he was a 4-star recruit so lets hope he shows something in the future. It's not like they ignore white QB's, Alabama constantly recruit top 4-star, and 5-star white QB's they just all transferred. Maybe not next season who know's, but we will see plenty more Alabama teams lead by white QB's..

im a bama fan and we're actually not that bad with white depth. Keith Holcombe is gonna be great when he 100% healthy. We have 3 White tight ends out of 4 we play. Miller forristall is our better pass catcher will a lot of potential. We're getting a white slot receiver next year. He's now in his sr year of hs. Look him up his name is Slade Bolden class of 18. Next bama white wr behind Richard mullaney (2015) and Gehrig dieter (2016). Now Slade Bolden will have all of his years unlike mullaney and dieter where they were 1 year transfers.

LB Holcombe looked good last night. He did not start but played maybe 20-25% of the time and recovered a fumble on special teams. He also is a baseball player. I expect his role to expand as the season progresses.

He will see more time. He's still recovering from off season shoulder surgery.

Alabama has lost two OLBs for the season. Hopefully Holcombe will get more playing time replacing them.

Keith Holcombe has indeed been playing well and should be a starter the rest of the season!. In other news Jalen Hurts was benched in favor of the poly Tua Tagovailoa. Hurts may still be the starter we'll see.

Never good to see ANY player suffer a career threatening injury, but that may be the case for (Sr) LB Dion Hamilton who will be out for the rest of the season (maybe career) after re-tearing his ACL...

This is good news for my man Keith Holcombe, who will takeover as the starting MLB! (Jr) Holcombe has looked good in a couple spot starts so far, tallying 30 Comb Tackles with 2 Tfl's and 1 Sack. He should definitely put his Baseball career on hold now, as he looks to become a leader on the Tide's defense. I could see Holcombe developing into a solid 2019 draft prospect following a strong senior campaign. He has all the tools needed to be a good ILB/OLB in the NFL, with the size 6'4 236, tackling ability, and plenty of athleticism!
