I haven't followed baseball much the past few years and it amazes me how much turnover there's been at the All Star game, especially towards young stars, many of whom thankfully are White.

All Star games used to mostly be dominated by players in their late 20s to early 30s peak years with a sprinkling of younger players and veteran superstars in their mid to late 30s. At this game Pujols is the only semi-grizzled veteran and he's appearing for the first time in a while.

Hopefully the young White stars can keep it going and eventually become all-time greats.

Trout takes "white Bo Jackson" comparison graciously, even though he's a hell of a lot better than Jackson ever was.

Not just baseball...but as an athlete...Trout is 6'-2" 235...probably runs a 4.4...they also mentioned he could play in that "other" league(NFL)....

i posted about this on the "Mike Trout" thread...he was interviewed this pre-season would he play Linebacker or Safety?? He said "Running Back". We know he has incredible burst...as his base-stealing from 1st to 2nd is actually FASTER timed than one of MLB's premier base stealer's Jose Altuve who is only 5'-6" 165!

Yeah Don the younger baseball players have really made a serious impact! Seemed to have energized the game...interesting 8 of the 9 NL Starters tonight were white...& the AL looked like they ended the game 9 out of 9?

Congrats to Trout. Baseballs trajectory really does seem to be pointing up in comparison with the rest of the sports In Amerika. So many young white players, not many blacks and the Latin big name players seem to be on the wrong side of 30.

Trout is 10 times the ball player bo Jackson was, he is better than Griffey at this point in his career and Ricky Henderson who he was initially compared to when he first got in the league do to his penchant for stealing bases. When you look at him he really does look like a throwback ball player - reminds me of Mantle.

I saw the highlights this morning at the gym of him scoring from second on BSPN. I was reading the subtitles and I am assuming it was a black Sportscenter anchor that was hired to be Stuart Scott reincarnated because when describing Trouts running ability he said "the brother can run" wtf is that.

Yes, what we are witnessing in Mike Trout is truly historic! I haven't studied every great 5 tool player, but I have looked at a lot of players stat wise and I can't think of any player, with the exception of AROID, who has done all the things Trout has done at such an early age. He's truly amazing and I hope he stays healthy and it continues. If he continues to get better, he could become the greatest 5 tool player of all time.

Trout set yet another record last night in the All Star game, by becoming the youngest player to hit for career All Star cycle, age 23. I think 10 players have done it, but not before the age of 24, Trout did it at 23!

First All Star Game, first AB, Single
Second All Star Game, first AB, Double
Third All Star Game, first AB, Triple...and last night in his first AB in his 4th All Star game he completed the career cycle with a HR, AMAZING!

On another note, it was nice of the announcers to compliment Paul Goldschmidt on his combination power and speed. They mentioned his 16 stolen bases. He's 16 for 20 for an 80% success rate
