Got to like LB-Jordan Tripp's confidence! "I'd be a 1st Round Pick if I would have played at Alabama or Texas"! Most of us here at CF are already aware of this talented prospect... just had no idea his confidence is on another level! More players need his attitude!

Montana LB Tripp: 'I'€™m the most versatile linebacker in this draft'

As teams continue to tailor their respective draft boards, one player might be undervalued because of the perceived competition he played against.

After posting a team-high in tackles at the Senior Bowl coupled with an impressive performance at the NFL Combine, Montana linebacker Jordan Tripp could be one of this year’s notorious draft-day surprises.

Tripp, who matched up against FCS teams during his collegiate career, had no trouble playing against the nation’s elite in January.

“I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I believe that I’m the most versatile linebacker in this draft,†Tripp told FOXSports.com in a telephone interview on Tuesday. “I believe I can run and cover better than any linebacker in this draft.â€

During his time in Indy, Tripp scored well with scouts and performed the fastest 20-yard shuttle run (3.96) as a linebacker since A.J. Hawk in 2006. He also was in the top 10 at his position in the 40-yard dash, three-cone drill, vertical and broad jumps. Tripp’s change of direction, lateral quickness and closing speed will make the leap into the NFL an easier transition than for others.

“Jordan came to Mobile as one of the most heralded sleepers in the country based on the scouts’ comments during the regular season,†former NFL general manager and Senior Bowl director Phil Savage said. “A combination Mike/Will, he has a proportioned build with the frame to add even more weight. His best position may end up being Will, because he is athletic and can chase from the backside, however, he is capable of making the calls as he did for the Jaguars’ staff all week. Jordan has the skillset to develop and will likely become an NFL starter in due time.â€

Naturally people will continue to have their doubts since Tripp didn’t play at a premier university. That’s something the 22-year-old linebacker uses as motivation.

“I think it’s funny that people want to do that,†Tripp said with a laugh. “The reason I’m not a first-round pick is because I didn’t play at Alabama or Texas.

“I don’t think it matters where you play. Everyone who plays football puts their pants on one leg at a time and you just go play football.â€

While Tripp trains for his May 18 pro day at California Strength in San Ramon, Calif., he has continued to master his craft by working on his strength and flexibility. By doing Olympic-style weight training and yoga three times a week, he has fine-tuned himself into a prospect that will not only allow him to test well, but perform at a high level on game days.

“Yoga is a tough core workout but at the same time it’s a balancing effect, which directly correlates to on the field,†Tripp said. “It’s important to have good body control and balance when you’re running around on the field. A lot of athletes know that you do certain things to get an edge in the game, yoga is one of those things.â€

Tripp, a third generation player at Montana, arrived on campus in 2009 as a 6-foot, 180-pound safety/linebacker hybrid. Since then Tripp went through a rapid growth spurt, which included him gaining three inches in height and packing nearly 60 pounds onto his frame.

While the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder plans to let his Combine numbers stand at the pro day, he’ll partake in position-specific drills to show off his raw athleticism.

“I just want to come in and contribute right away and I believe that I can,†Tripp said. “I know I can be an impact player right away. I just need a team to fall in love with me and I’ll get that opportunity.â€

The fake ass NFL is already totally discredited in my mind, but if Manziel isnt the first pick then it just becomes a total joke. A bad joke at that.

WR update and Matinez

Some grimness settling in. Steve Hull ran a 4.54 much slower than I expected . Amidon will likely work out and pursue the NFL if they want him. He could run a 4.4 40 we will have to wait and see. Based on his career he has a 50/50 chance of getting drafted which would make 4 wr's drafted which would be an improvement over last year. However the next two to three years look terrible on paper for white wr's getting drafted. Unless some surprises pop up and we can always hope , the mini wr trend might come to a sharp end very soon . It pains me to say it but I have researched it and things look bleak for the 2015 and 2016 draft for wr's. .
As for Martinez just about the time i discovered he was white and not hispanic his career started to get shaky and injuries mounted-- yeh go friggen figure.
Would have been nice to see him run my guess high 4.4 low 4.5 at the combine but all told the signals I get is the NFL does not want him at QB so thats a huge problem for him going foward. And as usual for us as well.

Seems like he has run in the same range as Denard Robinson last year. Denard got drafted by the Jaguars in the 5th round as an "offensive weapon". Martinez is slightly taller and slightly heavier. If the NFL were fair, Martinez would get drafted in the same round, give or take. However, I predict he won't get drafted at all. He could make an interesting UDFA for a team willing to teach him a new position.

Blake Annen

Annen out of Cincy at 6-5 250 ran a very fast 4.41 at pro day. He was an afterthought but now they are saying he looks like a late round draft pick. We can only hope.

Martinez is another guy with Eric Crouch type athleticism. My bet is he gets a shot at safety or slot receiver.

Yep. I bet he gets 'screwed' like a $2 whore on "half off" night. I'm about totally done following the cultmarx soaked, ultra-caste NFL.

Badgers DE Ethan Hemer ran a 4.9 40&32 bench reps at pro day at 6'5 290. I'll post other numbers from O'Neil,Armstrong, Muldoon, Dippel, abd Klotz when I can find them. Every pro day story is focused on wiscos more well known players. Dezman southward put up a workout warrior type performance so he's stealing the headlines despite only alright production as a starter.

St. Francis PA RB Kyle Harbridge is being described as a Danny Woodhead Clone per Gil Brandt:

Kyle Harbridge of FCS-level Saint Francis (Pa.) is a 5-foot-9 3/8, 204-pound running back, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.52 and 4.56 seconds as one of those area small-school prospects on hand at Villanova’s pro day. Harbridge had a 33-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.25 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.23 seconds. He also performed 22 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Harbridge — who had 1,692 yards rushing, a 6.0-yards-per-carry average and 16 touchdowns on the ground for the Red Flash in 2013 — caught the ball well out of the backfield and is also a really good kickoff returner (he averaged 26.27 yards a return in 2013).

Also Max Bullough had a great pro day workout. Not sure why he is being knocked down - he is huge and moves very well for his size. The media and draftnik weenies are pointing to his suspension for the bowl game as the reason he is falling - give me a break with that nonsense: Max Bullough, LB (6-3 3/8, 248) — Bullough ran the 40 in 4.76 and 4.70 seconds. He had a short shuttle time of 4.29 seconds and a three-cone time of 7.08 seconds. Bullough looked good in the drills, displaying a lot more athleticism and flexibility than his frame would suggest. To be 248 pounds and run that three-cone time is impressive. Bullough, it should be noted, is a third-generation Spartan. His grandfather Hank Bullough played guard at the school from 1952-54) and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers and later coached at MSU and in the NFL, and father Shane Bullough played linebacker at MSU from 1983-86).

Good stuff all the criticism of Bullough has been unnecessary him and Borland are showing they belong as among the best LBs coming out this year.

Also saw that Kory Faulkner QB for FCS SIU tore up Northwestern's pro day. 6'4 230 4.67 40! Could be a guy to watch along with South Bama QB Mason Miles who also has good size and speed. Too bad these guys couldn't get a combine invite instead we were force fed Tajh and company.

2 long shot WRs are Wilson van Hooser and Derrek Engel. Wilson ran a 4.45 40 at Troy pro day while Engel says hell run a 4.4 when he's recovered from acl tear. Draftdaddys been posting a ton about some small school guys and its very much appreciated!

As for Harbridge what a talent! Similar size/speedto Kmic, Justin Beaver, and Nate Eachus. All from small schools but were D1 talent.. Another long shot but goes to show the amount of talent that gets ignored.

Beau Blankenship worked out at Oklahoma's pro day - ran a 4.47 and had a 37 inch vert. Probably a good move for him as the Oklahoma proday had more scouts in attendance.

Wow. Awesome results, including 27 reps on the bench press. The only guy that put up more reps was a 310 lb. O-lineman. He was top 2-3 in every category.

He had over 5,000 yards at Norman North High School, right under Bob Stoops' nose. Now he puts all of Bob's affletes to shame at their Pro Day. I guarantee Stoops never considered recruiting him and is oblivious to his own completely brain-washed bias against White skill position players.

It's pretty obvious that someone (Stoops, NFL scouts, staff testers) intervened on behalf of the Sooners players.

There's no such thing as a Vertical Jump tower that measures to one-eighth of an inch. Yet a Stoops negro gets that tiny extra little bit so he can be ahead of the white player. And hand-timed 40 results are notoriously unreliable. At pro days even more so. There's absolutely no reason to believe that Blankenship finished 0.03 behind an afflete. It's just a made-up number. He might have finished seven tenths behind or half a second ahead. Impossible to know. But it sure serves the caste system's narrative to publish the numbers that they did. Same thing on the short shuttle with Beau finishing a "not possible to hand-time" hundredths of a second behind. And no mention at all in the writeup about his bench performance.

I thought the same thing, Riddlewire. A vertical jump of 37.125 inches?!

Blankenship's Pro Day performance will be quickly swept under the rug, and Stoops will never have to answer for his racially traitorous recruiting policies.

odds and ends

RB Blankinship had a good workout so lets see if he gets drafted. I have been unable to find WR Amidon's BC pro day workout numbers esp. the 40 yard dash? ND State WR Ryan Smith ran a 4.45 40 and as mentioned above so did WR Wilson Van Hooser of Troy. But both are long shots.
One guy that is vaulting up the draft board is BYU S Daniel Sorenson. He ran a bit better during the pro day and is roughly a 4.58 40 guy but nearly unmatched in hip quickness and agility.. Scouts are in love with him so look to see him get drafted within first 4 rounds. A very good all around athlete.

Brandan Green

Green a wr out of Grand Valley State got some pub at draftdaddy.com. Wow is this guy quick. He ran a 4.37 at a regional combine with a 38 plus vertical and astonishing numbers in the agility drills. He is 5' 10" and 180 and we saw this last year with a superquick guy who never got drafted but was at Falcons training camp before getting cut--his name escapes me. Anyway I hope Green gets drafted and why not as a change of pace wr and punt/kick returner. We can only hope. He has more workouts scheduled.

NFL.com's Gil Brandt believes BYU DB Daniel Sorensen "helped his draft status at BYU’s pro day" and could be "selected early on the third day of the 2014 NFL Draft (fourth round)."
Sorensen (6-foot-1 3/8, 206 pounds) is an impressive athlete who played outside linebacker as a true freshman before moving into the defensive backfield. He collected 4.54 and 4.59 second forties, a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-2 broad jump at the event. He chose to keep his combine numbers in other drills.

If Daniel Sorenson is worthy of a pick in the 4th or 5th rounds, Ty Zimmerman should be in the 2nd or 3rd...and Vinnie Sunseri in my humble opinion would be in the same range (2nd/3rd) if he didn't declare early. He didn't work out at the Combine OR Alabama's first pro day...

According to some reports Lovie Smith, the black new head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, wants a new quarterback.

If these reports are true it can only mean one thing, Smith wants a black quarterback.

Mike Glennon, who is white, had an excellent rookie year and looks like the real deal. Based on performance the Bucs should be addressing other needs and not be looking to replace Glennon.

If Teddy Bridgewater is available and the Bucs take him the only reason would be because he's black and they don't want a white quarterback.

To his credit, in his 8 years as the head coach in Chicago, Lovie has never had a black QB, even as an emergency starter.

He’s had guys like Grossman, Hutchinson, Krenzel, Griese, Orton, Hanie, and Cutler. Black QB, Jeff Blake, was on the roster many years ago, but never played a down from what I can recall.

Lovie’s odious trend is a virtually all-chocolate team led by a white QB.

Brett Smith and more

Smith the QB out of Wyoming is considered the fastest QB in the draft. He ran a 4.51 on pro day and even if you bump it up--pro days are typically faster friendly than the NFL combine you are still looking at a 4.5 QB.
Thought is he will get drafted and is looked at as a backup early in his career.
On a more ominous note I am getting bad vibes on wr Campanaro. Despite an elite workout he may not get drafted . That would suck. Right now we are looking at one sure bet and Janis is I'd say has about a 70 to 80 % chance of getting drafted. I'm not giving up hope on Campy but based on last year I am getting that sinking feeling..
