The star for this week is Oklahoma's Tom Wort. Against Florida State - he had 8 tackles, 1.5 sacks and an INT (for a 12 yard return). He looked quick and explosive.

Because several teams are still playing cupcakes, I didn't look at all the stats (not even close to it). So, feel free to post any performances that interested you from Saturday.

Chase Thomas was very good last season. He had the break-out season that I thought he would have. However, a couple more sacks would have been iceing on the cake!

This year, though, his sacks are on the increase so far. If he stays healthy, it would be nice to see him get at least 9/10 sacks.

He looked awesome out there. Some other stats from yesterday:

Luke Kuechly -- 14 tackles (8 solo)

Andrew Sweat -- 10 tackles

Max Bullough -- 9 tackles and a sack

Chris Borland -- 7 tackles

Jake Holland -- 6 tackles (4 solo) against South Carolina

The star for this week is - again - Chase Garnham. Vandy's "D" played valiantly for more than a half, but when you can't score, you are going to lose (and the score will usually look more lopsided than it really was). Chase had 10 tackles!

Luke Kuechly -- 16 tackles (11 solo)

Andrew Sweat -- 9 tackles

Houston Bates -- 7 solo tackles

Tom Wort -- 7 tackles

Patrick Larimore -- 6 tackles

Chase Thomas -- 5 tackles and a half-sack

Joey Ehrmann -- 4 tackles and an INT returned for 50 yards!

Luke Kuechly -- 12 tackles and an INT!

Joe Holland -- 10 tackles and an INT!

Andrew Sweat -- 8 tackles

I don't know how I missed Purdue's Joe Holland.. he is nimble and instinctive and is playing well as a Senior. http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/237332/joe-holland
Every week Kuechly puts up ridiculous tackle numbers and I have a hard time putting it into context. Is he an absolute beast or is it a product of his team? Is he the best linebacker prospect in college football (White, black or other)?

Luke's instincts are ridiculously good. In an instant, he can diagnose a play, get there and wrap up. He has the range of a safety, a position he excelled at for at least one year (Junior I think) in high school.

Mel Kiper actually has Kuechly third at linebacker, behind Te'o and Burfict. I'd definitely put Kuechly above head-case (not to mention poor technician) Burfict. Kuechly has proven to be a superior tackler to Te'o, while Te'o has the pass-rushing edge. Te'o benefits from having been in the Rivals 100 while Luke was a 3-star..

Kuechly's been the real deal since he arrived on campus as an undersized freshman. All he's done since is continue to get bigger, faster, and stronger.

Iowa linebackers

--NOTE: On ESPN, none of their starters, 2 Whites and a black, have stats listed from their game against Michigan State that occurred the other week. So, for now, I'll just go by what is listed.--

Sophomore - James Morris - leads the team in tackles with 87, edging Kirksey (black) who has 84 tackles. http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/500835/james-morris

Senior - Tyler Nielsen - has 49 tackles. http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/236646/tyler-nielsen

Luke Kuelchy sets the ACC single-season record for tackles, passing the mark of 183 he set last year! Also became BC's all-time leading tackler with his 525th stop in the first half.

Kuelchy could be a first round pick if he decides to leave early.

Does anyone know his measureables?
