Cliff Lee just signed with the Phillies. On paper, Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, and Hamels has to be one of the best pitching rotations in MLB HISTORY! I live in the Philly area and I remember when Lee got traded to the Mariners. He seemed genuinely pissed off and very suprised. He said he and especially his wife loved the area, loved playing for the team and felt like they could lay roots in Philly. I thought he was possibly BSing....I guess not.

That is a absolutely awesome pitching rotation especially come playoff time. On paper, the Phillies are virtually unbeatable now in a best of seven format.

Yeah, but with Jason Werth signing with Washington, they're down to Utley as the lone everyday White starter. Maybe they'll swing some trades or sign some more whiteys as that is an amazing starting staff. . .

Bah! The National League "Yankees", sign all of the best white pitching talent but fill the rest of the line-up with non-white guys. I hope they choke again next year.

It was down to keep Werth or acquire Lee. Putting race aside there really is not much room to acquire additional players (white or otherwise) due to Lee's contract/salary. If Ryan Howard gets injured or returns to his perennial slump, Mike Sweeney can backfill...provided they keep Sweeney and not offload more overhead.

So in very recent news the Los Angeles Angles (the perennial choice for caste team of the year), have traded their leading home run hitter Mike Napoli for the overrated, overpaid Vernon Wells. This bumps Peter Bourjos from the starting spot in CF. As of right now the Angles will start 8 of 8 non-Whites in the field. If they sign Scott Podsednik (rumored) he will go to left and Bobby Abreu to DH. 8 of 9. However, they could also sign Vlad Guerrero which would give the Hispanic owner his dream of 9 non-White "supa-affletes". For the record, this multicultural mess was 19th in runs last season. Good for Napoli but not too familiar here with the Blue Jays. Hopefully for Posednik he doesnt go to the Angels.

The clock turns to the 2011 Offseason...

--After the career seasons they had, some team(s) are going to give huge money to Matt Kemp and Prince Fielder. Can't rule out it being a Whiter team that has money to spend.

--It will be interesting to see what Detroit, Texas, Philly, Atlanta and Arizona do. These teams don't need that much more pitching or hitting.

--Does Josh Willingham get out of Oakland? Do the NYY retain CC?
