We can always hope.  Currently, of the 5 running backs on the Stanford roster, 3 are white, including Tyler Gaffney, who did well last season in limited duty.  ALL of the incoming recruits so far are black, so apparently Harbaugh hasn't been looking for his Gerhart replacement.  Maybe someone should send Harbaugh a tape of Nile Knapp's highlights.  He'd be a better back than any of the incoming affletes.

Add to that a third guy I'm surprised didn't offer Knapp- I posted in the H.S thread about this Football dad (we think alike). Turner Gill (Kansas), Bronco Mendenhall (BYU) and Jim Harbaugh (Stanford). White Rivals, Scouts Inc. etc. buried Knapp in their databases, so he had no buzz or hype. Still coaches regularly offer players not "hyped" by those evil recruiting services. Knapp should have been at the top of their list!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

If Harbaugh does not use a white running back, or recruits only blacks, then he and the program can go F themselves.
Screw you. At least he gave Gerhart a chance, and he's got 3 other white backs. That's more than any other program in the nation. You should worship this man if you want your white power movement in the NFL to succeed. I, for one, think Harbaugh has done a great job letting white men play football.

No need to get nasty. Maybe this is why you get banned lol. The point is that most every other FBS program recruits ONLY black tailbacks. Henceforth the best RBs available to Stanford, will almost always be white. A school like Stanford (that isn't "considered" an FBS football powerhouse, tends not to land RB recruits like Lache Seastrunk or Marcus Lattimore).

I still like Nile Knapp better as a prospect than Seastrunk anyway. I have compared their 10-20 yard burst, vision, instincts and their dazzling moves. Knapp looks to have a slight edge in all these areas. Seastrunk has the advantage in up the gut short yardage situations (he's a little bigger/stronger) at this point and playing better competition and a slight top-end speed advantage.

However, Knapp had an amazing senior year (leading Georgia in rushing- playing for Sherwood Christian Acadamy), while Seastrunk didn't stand out as a H.S senior- having his worst year that year for Temple Texas.

To clarify myself: I know I usually give more credence to a north-south, cutback power runner succeeding at the FBS or pro level (due to speed of defenders from sideline to sideline cutting off wide angles at those levels).

However, Lache Seastrunk (although larger than Knapp) is not big enough to be a prototypical powerback. I think Knapp is still in the process of growing into his body as well. Knapp's dazzling cannon cuts and top notch instincts have a quasi Barry Sanders feel to them - his film is THAT incredible. Although Seastrunk has dazzling moves as well, he doesn't quite bring back memories of Barry Sanders (like Knapp did) for me. That kind of agility can't be taught- and can be successful at any level.

My point is that if Harbaugh and Stanford, after tasting success with Toby Gerhart choose to go with a black running back in order to be politically correct or prove they've arrived, rather than use another Toby type deserve to loose.

And ya know moron, I used to come on here with inflammatory posts, but have learned to tone it down. Maybe you should do the same. No one is going to awaken to the racism within Caste sports if proponents of this site are saying " Screw you" to each other, it tends to diminish the message.

the news coming out of The Farm is that Tyler Gaffney is expected to emerge as the #1 tailback in 2010. but, while Gaffney is dominatingbehind the plateand in the outfieldfor the Stanford baseball team ...

Gaffney is batting .336 and has not committed an error ...

it is a perhaps surprising name that hascome out ofspring camp for the Cardinal football team as a potential playmaker at running back. several black backs have failed to spearate themselves from the pack, and a phenomenal athlete was caught up in a numbers game at linebacker ... may i introduce you to Alex Debniak.

AlexDebniak.jpg

Debniak provides a Gerhart-like blend of imposing size and speed (currently tipping the scale at233, Alex ran a 4.43-40 coming out of high school) that the other potential candidates lack. in high school, as you can surmise, Debniak was a dominant running back (and linebacker) before making the move to full-time defense when he signed with Stanford. perhaps, though, that move was premature ...

Amazing, premature indeed. Great reason to continue following Stanford Ball.

One advantage that Gaffney should have that Gerhart did not is an improved passing game. Andrew Luck should be one of the top quarterbacks if he comes out in 2011.
