Wasn't Davey from LSU too?? That team has been an avid supporter of black QBs and still none seem to pan out. Russell did for a short time in college, then quickly lost his self control and will now eat himself to death.

I hope Harrell makes it, I like Flynn as a backup and think he could one day be an NFL starter after he plays behind Rodgers for a few years. Kind of like when Brunell and Detmer did back in the 90's when they played behind Brett.

I forgot about Davey. He was an earlier version of DuhMarcus Russell, not as hyped but still hyped quite a bit, and just as awful. Considering that every fat black QB has flopped, most badly, maybe that infatuation will fade back to where it belongs -- to morbidly obese linemen.

There have been quite a few fat black qb's through the years. Russell and Davey are just two that come to mind. The only out of shape white qb I can think of is Jared Lorenzen, but at least he has a good work ethic.

Possible good news for Jordy Nelson even though he isn't mentioned in this Rotoworld blurb:

Donald Driver recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on both of his knees. We don't want to go overboard, but it's realistic to believe that this could be the beginning of the end for the 35-year-old. Driver's performance dropped off sharply down the stretch of last season, and he's no sure bet to be ready for Opening Day. We strongly recommend to avoid Driver in 2010 fantasy leagues. James Jones becomes a very good bet to start games at flanker this year, while Greg Jennings' stock also gets a significant bump.

It is quite incredible, yet somehow also typical, that they fail to mention Nelson in that article. Who else is set to benefit more from this injury than the young number three receiver who has performed well since drafted. Yet his name cannot be mentioned. The writer is probably to afraid of appearing racist, or to be pro a white player, at the expense of a black player. Either that or I am totally misreading the situation and Nelson could be overlooked. Actually now I think about it, much stranger things have happened in the NFL!

Just another ho-hum event in a league filled with criminals. This particular story will garner less coverage than Big Ben's friend peeing on a golf course:

NFL suspended Packers DE Johnny Jolly indefinitely, and for at least all of the 2010 season. Jolly is accused of playing a major role in the Houston drug trade, so a long ban was not unexpected. It is a bit surprising that commissioner Goodell was so quick to hand the suspension down without a conviction, however. The Packers knew Jolly wasn't going to play much -- if at all -- this year, so they prepared by drafting DEs Mike Neal and C.J. Wilson in April. Last month, they demoted Jolly out of the starting lineup and replaced him with Ryan Pickett.

Don, there is one sentence in there that particularly stands out as evidence of the "non-biased" media's stance favoring affletes.
It is a bit surprising that commissioner Goodell was so quick to hand the suspension down without a conviction, however.

the media had no problem throwing Roethlisberger under the bus and calling him the spawn of Satan...and he wasn't even accused of committing a crime. nor did Goodell wait for a "conviction of non-criminal activity" before he handed down a big-time suspension.

nope, there's no double standard here at all. there's nothing to see here. please move along.

Accused of playing a major role in the drug trade? This fat lard already makes millions playing the NFL and he takes part in dealing drugs. I guess the significant differences in iq's between blacks and whites really do make a difference.
