Week two of the Culpper era. Another loss. Culppepper threw a couple of big picks. As bad as the Lions are they can't afford that. I was hoping the Lions would sign another retread black QB instead of Culpepper because Culpepper actually can play a little. At this point I think the Lions need to go with a younger guy for the future but for some reason they signed this guy????? Culpepper still runs too much so he'll get hurt soon anyway. He did put a nice tackle on the guy who intercepted him which is something you like to see from a QB. Culpepper was at one time a real good QB something you can't say for Vick, Jamarcus, Tavrius, etc.

With James "Shack" Harris moving over to Detroit from Jacksonville to work his blacks only magic, the Lions will not only be awful, but blacker than ever in the process. Looks like Detroit, Tampa and Pittsburgh are going to be the blackest teams within a season or two.

Grambling product welcomes challenge in Detroit

You have to hand it to James "Shack"Â￾ Harris. He sure knows how look at his job with a "glass is half-full"Â￾ point of view.

The Grambling legend was named the Detroit Lions' Senior Personnel Executive in February, joining General Manager Martin Mayhew and head coach Jim Schwartz in the task of rebuilding the franchise that recently became the first in NFL history to suffer through a winless season.

I look forward to watching this team finsish in the bottom of the NFL for years to come. I'm gonna come to hate this team and it's mostly black members. GEt out of there, Stafford.

Jared DeVries blew out his knee the other day and was placed on IR. A real shame, because he was used as a backup for many years before finally becoming a starter last year. He was always healthy until becoming a starter too, but lost half of last year to injury and now all of this year. At 33 he's probably finished in the NFL.

I ran across this Lions blog, which mentions at the end of the article a pre-game altercation between two affletes on the team. Notice how GM Martin Mayhew deflects commenting on it directly, instead invoking a white player who was never a Lion in a nonsensical way:

"¢Mayhew didn't seem too upset about the fight in warm-ups between tight end Carson Butler and defensive end Dewayne White. He said he was talking with a former NFL teammate about another bizarre warm-up incident.

"I think John Lynch picked off a pass in pregame warm-ups and ran it back for a touchdown,"Â￾ Mayhew said, referring to the star safety. "But no, I'd never seen that before. I did talk to Dewayne about it, and Coach addressed it with both those players. I think that's been addressed."Â￾

Maybe its just me, but Mayhew's comments make absolutely no sense.

QB Matthew Stafford is going to start the next game as Culpepper has a foot injury that will keep him out a week. Drew Stanton injured his knee and will have to have surgery, out 3-6 weeks. The Lions signed Brooks Bollinger and Kevin O'Connell to replace them for the next exhibition game and they will play (no one else). I really liked Bollinger in college, I hope he can stick.
