2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team includes many of our favorite white players! Funny thatevena rabidly pro-black publication can't ignore the mental superiority of white student-athletes. Out of the 25 players named, 21 are White men!

TOWSON, Md. -- Tim Tebow of Florida and Greg Micheli of Mount Union College are the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America of the Year winners, as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America.


Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, tops the University Division team for the second straight year. He has a 3.7 grade point avearge in Family, Youth and Community Services at Florida.


Six others are repeat picks on the University Division first team. Running back Tyler Roehl of North Dakota State, wide receiver Brian Robiskie of Ohio State, defensive lineman Nick Reed of Oregon, defensive back Andrew Berry of Harvard, offensive linemen Ryan McDonald of Illinois, and offensive lineman Gerald Cadogan of Penn State are two-time picks. All are seniors.


Penn State had four first-team picks, including Cadogan, senior offensive lineman Andrew Pitz, senior linebacker Josh Hull and graduate student Mark Rubin joined Cadogan as Nittany Lions on the first team.


Brigham Young had three first-team picks, including senior offensive lineman David Oswald, junior linebacker Matthew Bauman, and senior defensive back Kellen Fowler.


Dayton and North Dakota State each had two first-team selections. Senior tight end Bart Bergfeld and junior defensive lineman Brandon Wingeier represent Dayton; senior wide receiver Kole Heckendorf joins Roehl from North Dakota State.


Sophomore running back Kyle Minett of South Dakota State, graduate student Phil Brunner of Northwestern, and senior place kicker Louie Sadoka of Utah complete the Academic All-America University Division first team offense.





Senior Brian Flagg of Arkansas State and senior Kyle Hawari of Yale join Wingeier and Reed as the defensive linemen on the University Divison first team.


Senior Zach Arnett of New Mexico completes the linebacking corps. Junior Beau Hadley of Weber State is the fourth defensive back on the first team. Senior punter Tim Masthay of Kentucky completes the first team.


Micheli is a three-year starter at quarterback for Mount Union. The Physics and Mathematics major has a 3.84 grade point average.
