Black americans have not lost total interest in boxing, contrary to what the sports media would have you believe. 9 of 11 boxers on the Beijing team are black.

I still maintain my position that they have lost a lot of interest in the sport though, just not as much as the media says. On the other hand, white americans seem to have completely lost any interest in boxing at all, and barely even watch it anymore, let alone take it up.

Very hard to find a boxing gym where most Whites live. But they can find lots of places to train for MMA-so the White Brothers from Russia can rule boxing and the White Brothers from the USA can kick booty in MMA.
You take the blacks from the US and I'll take the Whites from Eastern Europe and we'll see who wins the most medals at the Olympics.
Blacks lost interest in boxing because they can't whip the Russians!!!

Sad results, though a white man -- Mike Wilson -- made the semi-finals in the super heavyweight division and lost a 1 point decision (probably because of his skin color).

White Americans are doing fine in the pro ranks. Paul Malignaggi (25) recently won the junior welterweight belt. Kelly Pavlik (also 25) is about to win the middlweight title from Jermaine Taylor. Tye Fields should fight for a belt at heavyweight soon as should Jason Litzau at featherweight.

The U.S. Olympic boxing team is going to be the "new" Olympic basketball team. In other words, it will be the team that White Anerica loves to hate, just like a few years back when every enjoyed watching the U.S. b-ball team flop around to a pathetic bronce medal finish. I can't wait until next summer! Can you guys just imagine all the damage that the Russian, Ukranian, German and Slavic fighters are going to do to the nearly all-black ghetto circus?lolIt's going to be "ass-whoopin' central". I'm marking my calendar right now, and inviting friends over for a party already.

Tye Fields is pretty bad, and represents how few 200 pound athletes go into boxing anymore. Brian Minto would beat him handily, and Brian himself has never deserved a shot at a major belt. Several of the black american contenders like Tony Thompson and Eddie Chambers would knock out Tye in 2 or 3 rounds. All of the champs would knock out Tye in 1 or 2 rounds.

Tye is football player who is not that great at boxing. I don't see how even a pro-white boxing fan can see it any other way.

I don't think so. I don't think the mainstream US media is going to cover Beijing boxing much, as the average american doesn't care about boxing anymore. In the US today, boxing insterest is limited almost strictly to border jumpers. Look for boxing coverage on Univision and ESPN Deportes, not on NBC or whoever has the mainstream contract.

I don't doubt that the americans will struggle to medal though.

the next top international amateur boxing event is next months world amateur championships held in Chicago i believe. The US team is overwhelmingly Black, but interestingly their super heavy representative is White who made it through intensive qualifying against mostly Black competition. It's been many moons since the US was represented by a White super heavy, probably the last time being Duaine Bobick in 72.I'm looking forward to seeing the super heavy and heavy divisions because your really looking at the next generation of future pro champions as most of these kids will either turn pro after these championships or the 08 Beijing games. The Russians produce a conveyer belt of talent, theirs probably as many as five or six Russian super heavy's that could potentially win gold at these championships but unfortunately only one representative per weight class is allowed for all competing nations.Islam Timursiev,Robert Helenius from Finland,Denis Poyatsika,Roman Romanchuk,Italian Roberto Cammarelli,David Dolan and the US rep Mike wilson are all names to keep an eye on,all compete in the heavy and super heavy divisions and all have the talent to become future pro champs.

You don't know your boxers very well, Nevada. Chambers is fast and slick, and he would likely defeat Fields by decision, but he has little power and so there's no way he would knock Fields out in two or three rounds. Thompson would likely win by decision too. Ty may be slow, but he's big and strong enough that many heavyweights would have to settle for a decision win. He would have a chance of beating some of the heavyweights. The four titleholders might be able to KO Fields, but only Wlad would do it in an early round.

Nevada, you're always out of step with everyone else here at castefootball. I wonder why you post here - you seem to be pretending by times to be one of us, but most of the time, your true anti-white attitude comes through in your posts. I think you're probably Jewish. Edited by: JD1986

I can't even watch olympics on NWO-american tv any more. All they do is jingoism "USA #1" bullcrap and show sports that American Negroes are dominant in, like track and field. If the NWO-american boxing team is all black they're sure to show it. i remember boxing in past olympics with NWO-american judges giving absurd decisions in favor of their cannibals.

To me the interest of the Olympics would be seeing new and different sports and new and different countries competing, but you ain't gona see that on tv here.

Interesting bit of censorship here:

I wrote Z O G and it comes out "NWO".

I always enjoy your wildly insecure replies JD.

Looks like the rest of the board is providing you a lot of entertainment, nevada. You 'always enjoy' JD's 'wildly insecure replies.' Over on the UFC forums, we're always 'cracking you up' with our discussions of white fighters.

You seem to have a lot of dislike for the people who post here.

Obviously you're trolling here, since you don't share the same views as the rest of us. You even seem to dislike white athletes.

Although your posts are very sympathetic toward blacks and seem to be from a black perspective, you don't make a lot of spelling errors.

And although you pretend to be a self-loathing white guy, why would you be posting on this site if you were?

So the most likely possibility is that you're Jewish. The more I read your posts, the more it seems likely. With your above statement about Ty Fields, you again show your prejudice against white boxers.

Because you consistently show dislike and lack of respect for white athletes, I think the site administrator should ban you, Nevada.Edited by: JD1986

I've just done a brief search of Nevada's posts and found that he usually doesn't bad mouth white boxers. He said Povetvin would probably win the eliminator and that Pavlik would beat any Hispanic boxer. I saw the last Tye Fields fight on TV and the announcers were not impressed with his fighting style. Until he starts fighting some quality opponents we won't know for sure how good he is.

I realize that my opinion on Tye Fields is a minority one. But I think he can actually win a title if matched correctly. He is big and strong (6'9, 260lbs) and has incredible stamina and a strong chin.

I would have given Tye a 50/50 shot against Shannon Briggs due to his power, stamina and chin.

Minto would be way too small to hang with Fields and Tony Thompson is not exactly a world beater. Tye has victories over Bruce Seldon, Mo Harris, Sherman Williams and a whole list of B-level opponents (which is where I place Thompson). Chambers is like Chris Byrd and may or may not beat Fields. But he would never KO him. Tye is fighting Hasim Rahman next (probably by the end of the year). That should answer a lot of questions about him.

Watch this space and let's resume the debate on Tye Fields after the Rahman fight. Oh, and look for Fields to stop Rahman in the 9th round (but, of course, he will still be dismissed as a joke due to improper pigmentation).

White boxers have every major heavyweight belt. I'd say they are the best boxers right now. Would you agree?

But we don't agree about Tye Fields, so I guess that means I'm black. Or jewish.

Which belt do you think he can get?

I think both Brian Minto and Rob Calloway would handle Tye Fields easily. Tony Thompson is no world beater, I agree. Nobody thinks he is. But he would knockout Tye Fields without much trouble.

Tye does not have a single match against a good boxer. Not a single match. He's unproven.Edited by: nevada

I would give Tye a 50/50 shot against Maskaev.

He is 39-1 (35 KO) and has beaten Sherman Williams, Mo Harris, Bruce Seldon (former champ), Kendrick Releford, Dominci Jenkins, Saul Montana and Ed Mahone.

That is about as good a competition level as Chambers who has beaten Dominic Guinn, Derrick Rossy and Jenkins.

But in the past, you've said it's only because all the blacks are playing football, the same excuse we here from blacks (Douglas, Holmes) and Jews (Atlas, Wetzel, Kellerman).

nevada said:

What you said was Fields would get knocked out by light hitting Eddie Chambers. No serious boxing fan would agree with you on that, although most would say Chambers would win a decision. It shows your bias against white fighters.

In the past, you've said

1) it's not right for us to root for white boxers.
2) that we shouldn't root for Chagaev because he's Muslim
3) that it "cracks you up" the way people here talk about UFC
4) that all the top heavyweights are playing football, that's why Europeans dominate

You always have a "different take on things" to use your own words, than others here. And you show a condescending lack of respect for the other posters here.

Tye does not have a single match against a good boxer. Not a single match. He's unproven.

Tye holds impressive victories over tough journeymen Tank Williams and Sedrick Fields. KO'd 7 foot Julius Long. He beat Saul Montana, former champ Bruce Seldon (in 2 rounds), power punching Ed Mahone, and tough Mo Harris. None of these guys have great records, nor are they world beaters. But if Tye was as awful as you say, no way he would have gotten past these guys at all, let alone impressively like he did.

Tye is not great fighter, but with his size, power, stamina, toughness, and will, he is much better than most of the black hype machines being forced on fans right now.

The reason why the media makes so much out of a supposed lack of black enthusiasm for boxing or any sport for that matter where there is a growing or significant non-black presence or eminence is because it is simply assumed that genetic superiority ought to make blacks the best at any sport they touch. If blacks aren't the best at something, it's because they aren't touching it enough, or at all.

The end.
