    2013 NFL Week 13

Brilliant Absolutely brilliant. I've explained this to people many times, but you've said it so clearly. Bravo!

    Blaine Gabbert

Revise Well, now it looks like Gabbert may have to wait for another opportunity:sad:. Chad Henne has really produced the last couple of weeks.

    Blaine Gabbert

Looking better Gabbert has looked much better this year, despite the fact that Blackmon has looked like a bust. If I had any criticism of Blaine it would be that he doesn't put that much arch on the ball. This will make it more difficult to complete long passes, assuming of course that he has...

    Rand Paul for Amnesty

:hail:Football Dad makes a brilliant assessment. I would just like to add that the only libertarians I've met who could be trusted were libertarian nationalists. Your standard garden variety libertarian is an open borders fanatic.

    Lebron James

Has anyone else noticed that James is looking more and more like Andre the Giant? Absolutely acromegalic. I can't say for certain, for fear of being sued, but if one were to use a lot of HGH that is what you'd wind up looking like. P.S. I thouht Zeus' post was funny.

    Jim Thome

Thanks for the walk off info. BTW, Ruth had 49 home runs, includeing a then record 29 in 1919, prior to the introduction of the live ball in 1920. So there's a good chance he could have been robbed of some.

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

Lemaitre hasn't been superb yet this year, but for a sprinter that could as simple as having a cold or a mild muscle pull. It's still early enough in the season for him to easily round into form. Even if he doesn't beat the world this year, he can still have a great career. I just try to enjoy...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

That Simulator is assuming a perfectly strait wind giving equal support or resistance for the entire race. That rarely happens in a real race. If you've ever sprinted, or even if you've only been following sprinting you should have observed this.

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

You're saying I haven't seen what I have seen. If a 2.0 wind blows directly at your back for the entire race, that would speed you up by 0.1. That almost never happens in real life. The wind usually blows at angles or in gusts. A tailwind measured at 2.0 usually improves the time by about...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

Nope, I made that estimate based on experience, seeing what the same sprinters have run with and without wind, not some silly 'rule'. I know all about altitude effecting times. Sprinters tend to run .06-.07 with a 2.0 tailwind as compared to no wind at the the same altitude. Next time, try...

    Jake Bequette

These arm length reports are pretty amusing. An arm lenght of 35.5 inches? That would mean the two arms combine for 71 inches. Say this guy has a 80 inch total wingspan, he would have incredibly narrow shoulders, wouldn't he.

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

Good observation. A tailwind up to 2.0 is allowed, so any time run within that limit is obviously real. Some folks are just looking for excuses to dismiss him. I wonder Why? Btw, 9.92 with a 2.0 talwind would equal about 9.98 with no wind, so the point is moot anyway.

    Steroids and Black Athletes

Prior to the 1960s the fastest men and women were usually White. Black sprinters were usually slimmer than White sprinters. Then in the 60s Black sprinters bulked up and started winning almost all the time. This is also when steroids exploded into widespread use. Does anyone really believe this...
