    Fast HSer

Thanks for the update on these speedy HSers from Texas. I did a little investigating and found that Colin Jones ran a 10.39 this weekend at his district championship. That is a smoking time for a HS sprinter. Intersetingly, he is listed on Rivals.com as a football prospect with a 40 time of...

    2006 NCAA Outdoor Rankings

Matt Scherer ran a 45.90 in Oregon today. That puts him in the top 10 collegiates this year.

    Jared Connaughton

Jared ran a good time today of 10.28 to win his heat and finish 3rd overall at a meet at TCU.

    Minnesota 400m Men

Mitch Potter is back on the scene! Ran a 45.77 to win the 400m at the Kansas Relays today.

    Fast HSer

Ronald Arajs of El Paso has the 4th fastest HS 100 meter time in the country going into this weekend. His time is 10.40.

    Nate Probasco

He ran a 20.88 at a Nebraska meet last week. Dusty Stamer ran a wind aided 10.53.

    Minnesota 400m Men

Aaron won the 400m at the Sun Angel Classic in Arizona in a time of 46.01. Very good time considering he is coming of a foot injury.

    John Biacofsky

John won the All Ohio Div III championships yesterday in a time of 10.40.

    Draft

Issac Bruce was also a track guy..a 9.2 or 9.3 100 yard guy. I think Tim Brown was also a 'speed' receiver, but your point is well taken - most of these guys were not 4.3 speed demons, which seems to be the only thing that coaches look for these days.

    2006 NCAA Outdoor Rankings

John Biacofsky is ranked #1 on the NCAA Division III list for the 100 meters. His time is 10.27, better than all the Div I guys listed above. Also Louis Corominas is similarly ranked #1 for Div III in the 400 meters - 47.04 Div II sprinter Joel Duffield has the #3 ranking with a time of 46.79.

    John Biacofsky

No wind reading given in the results, so I don't know, but I hope it's wind legal.

    High School Junior David Klech

Klech ran 35.45 at the Arcadia Int'l yesterday. That makes hime 4th all-time at the 300m hurdles. I think he'll get the record by the end of the year.

    John Biacofsky

Here's a new sprinter on the horizon....John Biacofsy of Mt. Union College. He ran a 10.27 yesterday at a local meet, and won by a huge margin. Second place was 10.65. Never heard of him before, but that's a pretty good time.

    JT Scheuerman

JT ran a 46.24 at the Arcadia HS Invitational. Smoking time for high school, especially early in the year. He came in 2nd by 4/100's of a second.

    Texas Relays

I am also disappointed with Trey Griffin's performance, but it makes Trey Hardee's 100m performance in the decathalon seem even more impressive. The both had the same wind (2.5), but Hardee ran a 10.35 to Griffen's 10.46...and then Hardee went out and did 9 more events! I would have to say...

    Micah Harris

Micah Harris, a top hurdler, is in big trouble with the law..... http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20060315/news_6m15ha rris.html http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/8029824/detail.html

    Texas Relays

Trey Hardee may be the fastest white collegiate in America. Even though his 10.35 was slightly wind-aided, it was significantly superior to the times put up by the 100m guys - Steve Koenehmann, Jared Connaughton, Michael Gauthier, Daniel Varnado - at the Texas Relays.

    Draft

correction: Reggie Bush did run 10.42 as a HS junior, and did finish 2nd at the state meet...but he ran that time in the prelims, not the finals.
  19. J

    Draft

Reggis Bush is very fast. He ran a 10.42 as a junior in HS to finish 2nd at the California HS Championship. Matt Bruno won that race in 10.40.

    MLB racial breakdown for ’06

Kind of ironic that Pittsburgh has so many white starters. I believe they were the 1st team to start an all black team - back in the 70's with Willie Stargel, Al Oliver, etc. Anyway, goes to show that the tide can turn back.

    High School Junior David Klech

Klech is too skinny for the decathalon. Don't forget he would have to do the shot put, discus, javelin, and pole vault. I think if he concentrates on the 400m Hurdles exclusively, he could really go far with it. His season just started, and he ran one of the fastest HS times ever. He may be...

    Jeremy Wariner

Kevin Little is without question, the best all around white sprinter the US has had in the last 25 years.
  23. J

    High School Junior David Klech

Klech ran a 50.35 in the 400m Hurdles today at the Stanford Invitational. That's 9th on the all-time HS list. He also won the 110m HH in 13.86, and placed 3rd in the LJ. Kid has talent...

    Jeremy Wariner

I believe Little's fastest time is 10.13, which means he is still the fastest white American. Woods' time was at altitude, so it is not really comparable. I think his best non-altitude time is 10.25. Wariner supposedly ran 20.37 today for the 200m, but I have not been able to confirm that.
  25. J

    Jared Connaughton

Jared ran a 20.59 to win the 200m at the Bobby Lane Arlington Invitational today. Texas Relays are next week...hopefully this is a sign of more fast times to come for him.
