Where did you meet your wife(fiance)??

I just have a question for you guys out there about where you met your current or ex-wives at? Just wondering because with the women I meet, the relationship goes nowhere (sometimes my fault/sometimes theirs). So when I am ready to get serious I just want to know the places to keep in mind. Answer away...

Sister of a kid I was coaching at the time, so I knew there'd be some baller genes in there! (So far, so good, just moved five-year-old son's hoop up to 8 feet after he got the rotation down at 7-feet).

But on a serious note, this didn't happen until I saw the light, and didn't need "fun girls" anymore, but someone from a good family who hadn't been utterly brainwashed by the post-modern maelstrom.

CHURCH Start their you will find many single women who are looking for a good man. Church is a very good way to meet decent non slutty women which is my type. Some of you may laugh, but women especially christian women want someone to love them and take care of them. If I were you I would start going to church. Also one more point I beleive sometimes the Lord helps you find your soul mate for some of you it might be time to get religious.Edited by: White Power

Since this is a sport related site, I recommend going to the gym or joining a walking/canoing/sky diving etc group. This is an excellent way of finding fit women, if you're into that sort of thing. Check the age group, though, don't want to be stuck with a bunch of old birds. I know in the Chicago area there are groups that will help you train for a marathon. There are all kinds of sport related groups out there. The internet is a good resource for finding ones in your area. Just pick something that you're interested in and go for it. You will make tons of new friends.

Oh, my friend recommends renaissance fairs and comicons. You will find some geeky women that will blow your mind. They like the kinky stuff.

If there is a college near you that has a dance curriculum and you can get into their practice area go watch the ladies rehearse their dance steps. These young ladies spend so much time on dance they do not have a social life. Read a book so you can speak the language and dates will be easy to get

I met my wife at a 'hippie' bar. A mutual friend introduced the two of us and as a group, we had a few drinks. The two of us ran the dart board for a good hour. At the end of the night she shook my hand to say goodbye. I looked into her eyes and could tell that she happy to have met me. About two weeks later we had our first date. A week after that she spent the night and never left.

To me, one of the corners stones of a good heterosexual relationship is how you make your significant other 'feel'. Do you bring them joy? Comfort? Security? Horney?

Relationships are not about 'self'. It's important to understand what is necessary to sacrifice in order to sustain a relationship. The trick is to be sure that each person's behavior standards are not conflicting with what the other will find acceptable.

When seeking a mate, It's more important to know what you will put up with. And if you happen to be intolerant if insanity, good luck, because 90% of women are effin' nuts!!! Dealing with their insanity is no easy task. Many men try to fight it off with negative reinforcement or just plain nastyness. I don't recommend using that tool too often. Remember: If you're the one with the brains, it's your job to figure out a solution to the problems. Progress will rarely come quickly. The patience of Job is usually required.

Those last 3 paragraphs are very well said C Darwin. I agree whole-heartedly. It ain't all about what we want and trying to get instant satisfaction. Sacrifice is huge for any relationship to work or be good.

She used to work for me at a book store I managed. Had to wait until she was 18 and no longer worked for me to make a move though...

C Darwin made one mistake, 100 percent of women are crazy. My wife is the most rational, down-to-earth, intelligent woman I have ever met and even she has those maddening feminine quirks. But understanding that we are different is important.

Beware of pure sexual attraction, it is like a mirage in the desert. If you don't like a woman, I doubt you could ever be happy marrying her.

lol...Me too. I still go out and party like a rockstar once in a while. Just harmless drinking and dancing with the ladies. No harm, no foul.

You love those bars, don't ya Jax? Its cool, so do I. Its a shame you live so far away from me. You and I would have blast in bar if we ever met up, bro. Having a few beers, talking hockey, and conversating with some ladies. My kind of good time.

I met my wife via mutual friends circa 1996. She's given us four wonderful children.

Regarding long-term relations, I'd advise putting character (integrity, work ethic), personality, etc. up at the top of the list. Family/background is important as well. I'd advise looking for an old-fashioned gal. Church is a good place. I've been "off the market" for several years, so I don't have any fancy or modern advise other than put character first and think "old-fashioned".
