Can we get a sub 10 in the 100 please!

WL, my point wasn't so much to dispute the publcity factor of whtie
athletes vs black ones, but to make a comparison between white
sprinters breaking the sub 10 mark and Tiger Woods. BG's argument is
basically who cares if a white dude breaks the sub 10, plenty of
black guys have already done it. I was attempting to make the
same argument, albeit somewhat poorly, that the same can be said of
Tiger Woods. Who cares if a black guy can win in the majors,
plenty of white guys have already done it.

Unless he's counting Vijay Singh as black, too, as he is as dark as
Tiger and Vijay's ancestors are from the same general geographic area
as Tiger's anyway.

And how about asking the Chinese if they care that Yao Ming can
play in the NBA, after all so many blacks and whites already play
center...

Well, the white dominance of strength events certainly doesn't get any publicity. Oh, I forgot, those are the events blacks aren't interested in, cause you know, a guyrunning around a track at the Olympics is sooooooo much more interesting than a guy picking up a big piece of iron at the Olympics, and more lucractive.

The fastest black time in the 100 is 9.78 seconds.It
is very weird that until the 80's,whites were always
among the best in sprinting.The more P.C. america has
become,the more white sprinters have dissapeared.It was
kind of the same in basketball and football.Hopefully we
are seeing a return with a big bang.I do not believe in
athetic superiority in the speed events.We dominate the
strength,endurance and jumping events.There is no reason
that we cannot be competetive in the sprints again.Check
out 18 year old Craig Pickering who just ran a 10.22 at
18 over in England yesterday.He could be the best white
sprinter out there right now and he's only a kid.He has
amazing potential.

Track and Field are the MOST popular olympic events and have been since the start of the modern olympics.

So yes track and field is more lucrative and race has little to nothing to do with it.

Or are they the most popular and heavily promoted since a certain ******* embarassed the Germans in the run-up to WWII? (When white Americans were so dumb as to believe that their Germanic cousins were alien enemies and said ******* should be considered "one of their own") And could it be that the ******* sprinting ability, which I won't deny seems to be factual, is what motivates the Jewsmedia to keep sprinting in front of us constantly in the Olympics, instead of many other sports, the majority of which whites consistently dominate? Considering that the Chosen were writing 50 years ago they would destroy us by taking over the media and making the ******* our entertainers and athletes, I think we can safely establish motive, means, oppurtunity, and a signed confession to boot.

I believe there is a slight advantage due to the
narrower hips and longer legs/higher test.levels but
not to the degree that people believe.Why is is that
white sprinters had success all through history until
the Civil Rights Movement.Now,because our country has
changed and is always P.C. ,we don't even try out the
majority of the time.Added to that,just look at a
sprinter like Michael Johnson who had very short legs
but is the world record holder in the 200 and the 400
meters.That alone shows it is alot more than just the
body type involved here.I believe that we need to see
equal numbers of kids involved in sprinting to see
a resurgence of competetive sprinters.Idiots like Jon
Entine will tell you that whites can't be competetive.
Well whites won the 400 and the 800 meters in the mens
in Athens.In the women's,Nesterenko was the fastest
woman in the world.It is all political propaganda.
It will happen but only when enough sprinters with
the right training start to get back into track in
huge numbers.I dare anyone to tell Jeremy Wariner that
he isn't fast because he is white.He will laugh at you
and tell you he is the olympic champion and is going
to break the world record in the next few years.

I agree with you white lightning about body type. If you look at all of the top sprinters in the world, you will see all different body types. Some are tall and slim, some are short and stocky, yet both body types are competitive. I had a conversation with a colleague of mine and he said that blacks are superior in the sprints because they have longer shin bones. My response was that if that was the case, Shawn Bradley should be the world's fastest man. He had no response to that. I believe that there aren't enough white kids choosing track as a primary sport anymore. If more were running track then the cream would rise to the top. You look at a guy like Jeremy Bloom. If he chose to train for sprinting, he could probably be one of the top sprinters. Instead he chooses to be a world champion skier.

Good points, white lightning and SteveB. I too think that their will have to be more white interest and entrance into track before we will see big changes, but this might be in the process of happening. I don't think it will be very long before we get a sub-10 second 100 meter dash.

With the success of Wariner and Rock more white kids will maybe at least give themselves the benefit of the doubt that that they can compete in sprinting. I'm sure that most every white kid that sprints in Texas is well aware of Wariner and the success of Ryan Varner and his team might just signal the beginning of a resurgence for white sprinters. I'm sure that many potentially good white sprinters, while maybe running track in high school to stay in shape for football(esp. in a state like Texas) have been lost because they have invested themselves in the higher profile sports and then been winnowed out by the caste system after high school and college. Seeing the success of Wariner could make a fellow think twice about where to focus his sporting energies. The caste system could ironically start feeding whites back into sprinting. Some whites might feel they would rather take their chances with the objective clock as opposed to the "judgment" of a high school asst. coach or a college football recruiter that they aren't flexible enough in the hips.

Great post surfsider.Other than Kevin Little,the track
situation was very bleak about 10 years ago.Now,there
seems to be a uprising of white sprinters again.We do
need role models for these kids to look up to.They can
relate to a Wariner and Rock because they are very
similar to them.They have proven the myth,yes myth to
be false!ARE YOU LISTENING JON ENTINE & BRUTAL?Ask
yourself this question.If a white guy can run the 200
in sub 20 and the 400 in the 44 second range,then there
is absolutely no reason that a white sprinter cannot
break 10 seconds in the 100 meters.IT WILL HAPPEN VERY
SOON!! I predict this August at the World Championships
of Track and Field if the conditions are right.I can't
wait to sip on some champagne as I toast the sprinter
that does it.Many more will follow over the next
decade.The first is always the hardest!

Yeah but at least they like to drink beer like me.Ha.ha.
There are some beautiful german ladies too who I wouldn't
mind meeting at Oktoberfest sometime soon.Seriously,they
have around 3 or 4 descent german sprinters.Tobias
Unger,Sebastian Ernst,Till Helmke and Tim Goebel.Out of
these guys,maybe we will see the next Armin Harry.You
just never know and they are very young & raw.

I will make a bold prediction.Matic Osovnikar just lost
a best friend a teammate,in a car accident.He was the
2nd best sprinter they had.God bless him.Matic was
already on the verge of something big.He ran a 10.15 in
Athens last August.I see him running a sub 10 in memory
of his friend.This should add even more fuel to the fire.
He is so close.Nothing can replace someone that has died
tragically but maybe something good will come out of this.I will predict Matic runs a 9.99 in either the
quarter or the semifinals at the World Championships.

Today the first man from France ran a sub 10 in the 100.
Ronald Pognan but he is off african ancestry too.I am
still thinking that it will be in August at the World
Championships that someone of euro-ancestry will finally
break through.Here are some of the guys with a chance if
everything goes perfect with a positive wind that is legal.Nic Macrozonaris,Tobias Unger,Lukasz Chyla,Simon
Collio and Matic Osovnikar.A least these guys are the
sprinters most likely to even have a chance.On the junior
scene,there are alot of up & coming young sprinters who
are already running in the 10.2 - 10.3 range.They are
running as fast as teenagers as most of the older
sprinters we have talked about.

I think that you can add Morne Nagel in there. He hasn't been in too many meets since March so I think he may be off the radar, but he has all of the ability to do it.

I was going to put him but he hasn't run any descent times
in several years.I don't know how he regressed so quickly.
His only ok time this year,was a 10.27 into a negative
wind but the rumors are that the timer wasn't working
right.He has been stuck in the 10.3 - 10.5 range.I really
was pulling for this guy a few years back.Maybe he can
get it going again but from what I've heard,he probably
won't even be going to the world champs.Good luck to him
on getting back to his 2002 form.

The World Championships start in around six days and it
doesn't look too good in the 100 meters for most of the
sprinters that we are rooting for.The only one out of all
of them that is in good form is Tobias Unger.He has run
in the 10.11-10.25 range this year.The problem is that he
is entered in both the 100 & 200 meters.This will mean
running multiple rounds which will really fatigue him.His
best chance to make a final would be in the 200.Other than
that,Simone Collio is probably the other possible hope.He
is capable of running in the 10.10 range.Macrozonaris has
been hurt,Shirvo hasn't run worth a damn,Osovnikar is just
in horrible form.Then you have Nagel who has regressed
along with guys like Chyla.It's really sad how many of
these sprinters are running slow times this season.Let's
hope that we see at least a few personal bests at the
World Champs.This is the time to run your best!Good luck
to all of these guys & others who I left out.
