Texas Tech is going to love Mac McClung. Me and everyone else I know is super excited about him, especially with the loss of Moretti. Trust me, Texas Tech fans like the basketball team more than the football team, every home game is completely full. It’s gonna be a fun ride!

Georgetown is a dumpster fire, and his head coach (Ewing) reportedly sabotaged McClung’s NBA predraft exploratory process. both are said to have factored into his departure.

Mac McClung making 540 dunks look easy. This kid is an athletic freak with off the charts atheleticsm. Hope his game continues to improve at Texas Tech!

Insanity.

Keep a couple of things in mind. He is around only 6'2" and unlike a lot of big time dunkers McClung doesn't have long arms. His vertical has to easily clear 45 inches but I suspect he is in 50" territory.

You bet get better Mac. I root for players like Mac extra hard because this dude is a real caste buster. And in the vaguely bleak sports back drop you can never have enough of them.

Sifting through information stretching back only a year the best info I have found puts Mac McClung's vertical leap at 48 1/2 inches. I would add that seems fairly accurate but that number is still climbing. I noticed in the video twitter above his body is transforming into a sleeker look.

Which is another oddity about McClung. In some ways his body type and size is somewhat comparable to ex Indiana star Damon Bailey. I was very intrigued by Bailey when he was just coming out of high school where he led his small town school to a championship which I remember watching on ESPN at the time. Yes they televised the game because of Bailey. Bailey made headlines ( and the legend started) a couple of years prior to that when Knight said he was better than anyone on his current team in the best seller book by John Feinstein "A Season On The Brink." I still have the SI basketball preview article featuring Damon which is where I found out he sported a 39 inch vertical.

Bailey was sturdily built at 6'3" but wasn't long or lithe like so many of other up and coming players. When I first saw McClung I thought he was built more like a football running back rather than a high flying back court basketball player. McClung is built like a lot of White high school basketball players who never advance much further. A bit stocky with non Orangutan like limbs. And for such a prodigious dunker even McClung's hand size isn't anything resembling the big paws and long fingers one usually sees in basketball players. Larry Bird had big ole paws. Dr. J and Michael Jordan had the longest fingers I have ever seen. John Stockton even had big hands for a player his size.

So in a word McClung is a true outlier in many ways. But it is also important to remember that like sprinting the "experts" hype up the idea that blacks have better leaping ability that Whites. Problem with that is the one event that most accurately measures leaping ability is the high jump and blacks do not dominate that event in track and field. In fact White women have been the dominating force in the high jump over the past decades. But you won't hear a peep about that from the black athletic supremacy crowd who carefully tailor their message to form fit their propaganda.

Mac wins G-League Rookie of the Year award.

If the G-League is really the pipeline to the NBA, I can’t imagine how their best rookie won’t move up next year.

Mac McClung is the 2022 NBA G League Rookie of the Year yet the NBA Teams ignore him. What a travesty. Hope this summer a team other than the L.A. Lakers
picks him up and actually plays the kid. He has all star potential. He is so talented yet his phone never rings. I wonder why? Congrats Mac McClung. Well deserved! :)

I watched a few quarters of South Bay games this year. Mac was easily the fastest guy on the court at all times. His ball-handling, leadership and scoring ability were apparent. He’s shooting well from all ranges. He will be a fan favorite from the minute he joins any NBA team.

Good news and bad news. The Lakers are signing McClung to a two way contract for 2 years. So they will move him back and forth between the G League and the NBA. Complete
b.s. in my opinion. McClung won the rookie of the year award in the NBA G League. He also was considered for the MVP of the NBA G League. Yet the Lakers still won't call him
up full time. Only a 2 way contract so I'm happy and sad for him at the same time. Also he is on a team with a bunch of ball hogs including Lebron. I would be much happier with
any other team than LA but at least he is keeping his dream a live without going to Europe. There is no reason he should have even had to go through all of this crap.

McClung will simply not be given a chance on a team run by LeBron. LeBron’s ego will not allow it.

I would like to see him in Dallas, Miami (and they send Strus to star alongside Doncic) or even Washington to thrive alongside Porzingas.

I was watching McClung last week. The announcer was very complimentary of his skills.
Said multiple times that the opposition will be having nightmares about MM....
He also said it’s like the kid has a trampoline on the floor when he rises...Congrats on a great season. No G league next year!

As I've said for several years now there is nothing this kid can't do. Great defender, scorer, passer, unselfish and an overall leader on
and off the court. Then you throw in the superman high flying dunks and he is an all start if the nba can see past his white skin disease!

Great hilites of McClungs all around game. You cannot guard this kid! He is just too explosive! :)
