great result for Prandini - what a fighter!
Season best 11.11 into a headwind -1.0mps. Rounding into form nicely and relay rep quite possibly

Prandini got 4th place!
That's a relay spot.
Also she's the alternate if one of the top 3 finishers gets injured or can't run for any reason.

Firstly ..thanks to white lightning for the pic. Of Alex koenen ...cool ..what a powerfully built young sprinter. And then to the USAtfs ....1. Great stuff by boling ...what a competitor ...2 very disappointed for ..both cole beck and Quinn ....I can understand cole running out of gas ..,but devin Quinn I had expected to be pushing 10 flat ...as he has been very competitive all season ...but the champs is where it’s at ...but I will say ..nerves and expectations .....,now he has to go back to training and an open race , at get back to form ...for confidence alone .......cole beck has had a productive season ...and should continue ....3 . Otherwise usual peds suspects ...4...prandini 5 ...fair play to bluth BYU for racing a week after the ncaas....6 ...once again to boling ....this young man has made a lot dwfs sit up and take notice .....6 ...where is John teeters ....7 ...how come Quinn has no official gear sponsor....8 ....wait until shubenkov destroys grant Holloway ...9 ....I reckon trey Cunningham could still surprise a few people ....10 .....Ryan crouser ....

Yes Payton Chadwick will make a great wife and mother someday. Wish I could be the lucky guy. So beautiful and very talented.

I miss the days of the great Sally Pearson of Australia. She was incredible in the hurdles. Glad that she is now a mother and what a career. I really enjoyed watching her run! Quite the sprinter too!

Payton Chadwick is already married, white lightning (her maiden name was Stumbaugh). i’m obviously excited she had such a strong showing at the meet! success couldn’t come to a more worthy athlete.

Patryk Dobek of Poland ran a new PB - 1:43.73 - in winning the 800m against a really stacked field.
Dobek is a former 400m hurdler, who just started running the 800m this year. Incredible.
Also, a new name, Krzysztof Roznicki, is just 17 yrs old and ran 1:44.51. That's mind blowing!! The kid is just high school age!
Poland is super deep in the 800m with Dobek, Borkowski, Lewandowski, Kzczcot, and now Roznicki.

I'm really excited about the 800m this year!
The Poles and the Brits are overflowing with talent in this event, plus Clayton Murphy of the US is looking very strong as well.

Glad for Prandini, sad for Cunliffe being in the wrong heat. Kudos for Boling and he can still go sub 10. Biggest kudos are for Shae Anderson, she has made the final as well in a really deep womens 400mh, completely ignored by the 2 negro announcers and an afterthought mention by the white announcer.. Talk about blatant racism. Someone needs to get The female negro announcer SRR off the commendating as her inability to put full structured sentences together with her lisp is like listening to a 13 year talk. She is pro negro and it is obvious. Now as I have mentioned previously that as an atholete I like Allyson Felix, I like her running style and she appears to run clean, but I am not watching to hear about her kid.....Congrats to Chadwick so far and for setting a PB when it counts! Thats guts!!!

Shae Andersons race and nary a comment towards her until after the race. meanwhile Shae just finished a very strong third beating 5 others in the process.

If the USA womens 4x100m relay doesnt win gold in Tokyo the masses will blame Prandini just as before as she is the white person.

Shae Anderson is only one of two college athletes to make the 400m final. The other six are professionals. A great accomplishment for her.
The women’s high jump is an example of Whites not participating in Athletics in the USA in any serious numbers.
World wide White Women dominate the event, often comprising all 10 of the World top ten lists. However in the US it’s virtually no Whites in the top ten.

Great effort by Prandini, but ultimately it's yet another Olympics without a single white athlete representing the USA in the 100m, the blue riband event.

Boling ran only 10.13 in the biggest competition of his life, with +2.0 wind. With that wind assistance one and running for the Olympics, one would have hoped for a PB at the very least. Not to mention the others (Sant, Quinn, Beck). Disappointing all in all.

thanks for that jacknyc.
No offence - but I found this on youtube so posted it as a follow up mainly because she's on show here and it's a stand alone clip.
That's a killer stride and smoothness personified. How efficient she must be!

Boling 10.22 finished last and looked very tired. Congrats for fighting so hard!!

Alot of us were sad to see Boling not make the final but it was to be expected as the kid is worn out. I am proud of him for what he has accomplished. I've said many times that he needs to quit doing the long jump and
the 400 meters. Only when he trains full time as a normal sprinter over 60/100/200 meters can he achieve his goals. He is stuck in the 10.15 to 10.20 range for the most part. Boling had the 2nd slowest reaction time
in the 100 semifinals. This has to stop. He has to react to the gun quicker. Also was we know the majority of sub 10 sprinters we have seen in our lifetime all run minimum 6.50's and others are in the 6.40's range. Matthew
Boling has a p.b. of 6.64 so he has to get this down by alot if he is going to run sub 10's in the future. I have no doubt he is capable but he must focus on these weaknesses in order to get to the next level.

My biggest fear is that he will decide to change back to running the 200 & 400 meters. I don't want to see this happen. He needs to stay in the short sprints and train only for the short sprints. It's time to quit pretending he is in
high school. He is with the big boys now and he can lose every time he steps on the track. Losing is very difficult but he will learn from it. The kid is gonna be special. He just needs more time.

There's no denying that 10.22 in the biggest race of his life is poor. Possibly he is worn out, though guys aged 21 have a lot of energy. Perhaps a relaxed summer followed by a winter of solid training will get him to sub-10. I think someone mentioned he's transferring to LSU? They have a fantastic program which could help him. Not gonna write him off just yet after one bad summer, but expectations have taken a huge dent. If I had to put money on it I'm now leaning toward another Shirvo/Lemaitre false dawn, but we will see next year.

Today was Matthew Bolings 21st birthday. It has to hurt very bad to lose in the semi finals of the 100 meters to make the U.S. Olympic Team. Most champions go through alot of adversity before they break through
to the next level. I believe this year has taught Boling alot about what it will take to get to the highest level of sprinting! The kid is smart, focused & driven. Next year you will see a way better all around sprinter. I give
him credit for attempting to make the team even though he knows he is not in the proper form to have much of a chance. He still goes and competes anyway. That is the courage of a lion. It will bode well for him
building this mental toughness going forward into the future. Heck even Noah Lyles didn't qualify or Justin Gatlin. This was a very tough Olympic Trials for the 100 meters. Boling did well considering he has raced
all year. He will get stronger and be ready for the next challenges.

Yeah, I hope Matt finds that sweet spot in between becoming discouraged, and becoming seasoned.

Even though Quinn has not had the greatest season, I still credit his 10.4 to nerves. Even not at his best, he is guy who can consistently get in the 10.1s. Looks like the Olympic, men's hundred will be the black power shower it usually is unless a few of the Asians can get in there and change the narrative. It's really getting boring. Same old.

I don't see much on the calendar in terms of meets outside of the Olympics. I'll have to check again. I know there is stuff in August. Maybe Quinn can get a litte recovery time. then come back later in the summer in less pressure meets and still hit a PB.

At this point, it doesn't look like Matt will do much in the 200, but it's hard to say because of his youth. As said above, those young guys can recover fast. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think his 20.06 PB is the fastest white male 200 time ever.

Of the bunch I think Shae Anderson has the most potential. In a span of 2 days she ran 3 400m's against the best in the USA excluding Mcgloughlin and athing moh and lowered her PB by just over .32 with tons of speed yet to come...Bright bright future for this lovely young lady.

Yes he had the fastest indoor and outdoor 200 meters time by any White American Sprinter ever! He did this at 20 years of age. Like I said above Boling just turned 21 today on June 20th. He has acheived so much at a young age and he will
not stop here. You have only seen the icing on the top of the cake. Just wait till he continues to develop!

Julian Reus ran a 10.29 today. Good to see him still competing at 33 years of age. I still get mad about his p.b. of 10.01 as he shut it down with about 5 meters to go as it was a semi final heat of the German
Nat'l Champs many years ago. I'm sure he will always regret that because he never got another chance at a legal sub 10.

It's crazy to think how many of our guys have come so close but not dipped under the 10 second mark legally. Just off the top of my head I will list a few that came so close.

John Teeters 10.00
Devin Quinn 10.01
Richard Kilty 10.01
Julian Reus 10.01
Emilie Erasmus 10.01
Pietro Mennea 10.01
Matt Shirvington 10.03
Marian Worinon 10.00
Nic Macrozonaris 10.03

Whites that have fun sub 10:

Christophe Lemaitre 9.92
Ramil Guliyev 9.97
Adam Gemeli 9.97
Filippo Tortu 9.99

Lemaitre, Guliyev and Gemeli also have run sub 20's in the 200 meters.
