Although every NFL team is black dominated to varying degrees, it is interesting that the three teams generally agreed to be the best entering the new season -- New England, Indianapolis and San Diego -- are among the very best when it comes to employing white players.

The Patriots significantly upgraded at the wide receiver position over the offseason, and when all is said and done Wes Welker may be seen as the biggest bargain of all, especially if Randy Moss reverts to his injury prone and/or team cancerous ways. Welker, New England's slot receiver, is almost always said to be a "possession" receiver with athletic limitations, but the fact is that he is a superb athlete with very good speed and outstanding elusiveness, as witnessed by his record breaking days at Texas Tech returning punts (and where he was also a big play receiver). The surprise isn't that Welker made the NFL after being cast off by San Diego and then nearly cut by Miami; what should be asked is why the NFL isn't filled by sure-handed, smart receivers who know how to get open, aka white receivers.

Tom Brady owns three Super Bowl rings and nothing more needs to be said other than he is a surefire first ballot Hall of Famer who has already achieved legendary status at the ripe old age of 30.

The Patriots almost always have a great offensive line to protect Brady, and again this season all of the starters are white. Nick Kaczur starts at RT, Stephen Neal at RG, Dan Koppen at C, Logan Mankins at LG, and Matt Light at LT. All are right around 300 pounds and are quite mobile and athletic, quite unlike the mostly ineffective sumos favored by many NFL teams.

All of the backups on the line are also white except for one. The backups are Wesley Britt, Russ Hochstein, Ryan O'Callaghan, and Lonie Paxton (long snapper).

Brady's backups are Matt Cassel and rookie Matt Gutierrez from Idaho State.

The two backup tight ends are David Thomas, the second year man from Texas who has strong receiving skills; and veteran Kyle Brady, who is primarily a blocker.

Heath Evans is the Patriots' fullback. He has strong running skills to go with nice speed for his size and, incredibly for the NFL, gets to run the ball on occasion. Evans ran for 192 yards in 2005 and 117 last year. As of yet the NFL has not ordered an investigation into this blatantly illegal use of a white "fullback."

It's been a long time since the Patriots started a white player on defense other than at linebacker, and it's no different in 2007. Starting OLB Mike Vrabel is a big-time talent who excels both at pass rushing and covering receivers. He's also used occasionally as a TD-catching tight end in goal line situations. Vrabel is now in his 11th season, while starting ILB Tedy Bruschi is in his 12th season. Bruschi, who is of part-Mexican descent, has overcome major health problems (he was a stroke victim) to come back and regain his starting job.

Backup LB Larry Izzo is the proverbial White Special Teams Demon. Mike Wright plays some in the line rotation at tackle.

NUMBER OF WHITE STARTERS: 9

APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF WHITE PLAYERS ON 53 MAN ROSTER: 22

GRADE: C

This stuff with the Patriots filming the Jets defensive signals is getting interesting. It's interesting in that some of the radio talk show hosts are rationalizing this thing to death (WFAN, ESPN). Their point is that the Jet coach, Mangini might have been part of such things when he coached at NE, so I guess that makes breaking the rules okay in their heads. Then they make the point that the rule isn't a good rule, so they think it's okay to go ahead and break it without any penalty. What a crock.

Then there's the point of why would Belichick do such a thing in the first place? His team was far superior to the Jets and didn't have to steal any signs to win that game. Now it looks like they'll get fined, and lose a/some draft picks. For what? I just don't understand people anymore.

This is great news!
I might just have a new favourite NFL team.

If you look at all the most successful teams in recent years...Pats, Colts, Chargers, Rams and even Steelers...they have all been almost fair to whites.Edited by: TorontoArgos

at the very end of the game Patriots had 9 white players on the field, possibly even 10 (with either Stallworth or Graham in). The white players: 5 o-linemen, 2 runningbacks, Cassell, Kyle Brady and possibly Welker.

that must be some kind of a record! Edited by: backrow

I hope that the success of the whitest NFL teams will start a trend back toward a few majority white teams. The problem of course is money and the media's pandering to black college "stars." They get all the hype and are consequently drafted highest, leaving the whites to work their way into the lineup over a much longer and more physically demanding length of time. It will take owners who want to win more than they want to pander before anything will change, but it is good to see signs like what backrow mentioned happening. Lets hope they continue!

Dave Thomas was placed on IR with a knee injury.

too bad for this very promising young tight end. let's hope he comes back next season healthy and ready to be a difference maker for Patriots.

I was surprised to read that Wes Welker has caught more passes than Randy Moss. He has 47 to Moss' 44. Wes is also slightly over 500 yards after 7 games, so he could break the 1,000 marker and possibly hit 100 receptions if all goes well.

Wes is currently 3rd in the league in catches (Jason Witten is 7th) and on pace for over 1k, which is great. i knew that Patriots would be a great fit for him, even with Moss.

I was listening to Mike Greenberg

of "Mike and Mike" being interviewed on a local sports show this afternoon and he was saying how much he hates Belichick and seemed surprised no one has deliberately hurt Brady yet. Greenberg and all the other Caste clowns in the media hating Belichick is all the more reason to root for the Patriots.

"Mike and Mike" is basically two guys who arent funny, or intelligent beyond a homo, caste-loving white fan. I hate that show with a passion.

Why hate Bellichick's team and NOT Jimmie Johnson's wanna-be-thuggish, criminal Cowboys? Hmm, I wonder what's the main difference between them...?

Why is there all this talk about hurting Brady? I don't have a problem with Belichick's play calling, but why do those people who hate him want to maim Brady for executing the game plan faithfully? He will at times deviate from the script, but he just performs his duties extremely well. So, the Patriots spike the ball with gusto, and that is considered unsportsmanlike? Gimme a break. Compared to all the stuff going on in the league, it is NOTHING. Today, I heard callers to a talk show say that Brady was bush league for faking a spike and then tossing a touchdown pass. I mean, come on, that has been done countless times by most teams.

Wonder what all these idiots are going to say if Brady is actually injured during a game? The player who hits him is going to be questioned as to whether he did it on purpose, even if it is an obvious accident. Can you imagine if it's a white linebacker or defensive lineman that takes Brady out??

I think it says a lot about the depths to which the American people have sunk if one can openly talk about purposely injuring a player because he is winning, and no one even half-heartedly chastises those who suggest it.

They aren't talking about taking Brady out for the hell of it, only if they keep running up the score. Throwing bombs when you are up by 35 points in the second half is uncalled for. Not saying that Brady should be taken out, but Belichick is being unprofessional in doing this. It's much like stealing a base when you are up by ten runs.

I always wondered why teams never did do that, like if Jordan or Bird was still on the floor you just send some scrub out there to blow his knee out or something. I bet some type of Tonya Harding situation would unfold. But the firestorm would be huge if it was a white guy, but if he was black Sharpton and Jackson are already revving up the troops.

Belichick is sending a message to the NFL by crushing the teams he plays against. It's great for the morale of his team. His job is to win the superbowl, and by "running up" the score at will he gives the pats a great mental advantage over opponents.

What these pansies are really worried about is the Pats making other teams look unprofessional, and they do. Don't like it? Make a better team morons!

This is all an extension of the caste system. Coaches starting believing more in individuals then teamwork, and now have an unorganized jumble of idiots all competing to pad thier stats vs an organized, intelligent TEAM in the Pats and Colts. And the pats and colts are dominating these teams of "affletes".

Actually I have no problems with them passing or going for it on 4th when they're way up. I wouldn't leave Brady in that long though. There's no point in bringing in the backup QB for experience if he's just gonna hand the ball off on dives for the rest of the game. He SHOULD air it out. I think on some level "taking it easy" on guys late in the game is insulting. I think keeping Brady in is asking for trouble though.

I believe that a lot of the "scorched earth" policy Bellichick is employing is because they were labeled as cheats. He must figure that by completely dominating opponents, he is going to show America that "we don't need to film the oppositions' defensive signs."

That said, if I had a general like Brady running the show and I was blowing the other team out, I'd be letting my second teamers get in there and 1. protect my winning assets and 2. let the 2nd stringers develop. You get a human-hating safety on a clean blitz, you can kiss your SB dreams good-bye.

Doesn't it bother anybody that they actually even TALK about taking out another player deliberately, and no one is called out for it?

Some people here got flak from others for wanting a black running back to get injured so that a white player could start. here's a yahoo feature story...

Cowher: Brady could be target of cheap shot

As the New England Patriots pour it on opponents, fans have to be wondering about it and Tuesday former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher said it: If the Patriots keep running up the score, will someone like Tom Brady be the victim of a retaliatory hit?

The subject of the Pats' late-game tactics is causing a lot of buzz around the NFL, particularly after Sunday's 52-7 victory over the Washington Redskins. On a CBS conference call with reporters Tuesday. Cowher noted the Patriots could be playing a dangerous game.

"At some point if this continues, someone's going to take a cheap shot,'' Cowher said. "Is that worth subjecting your players to if it comes to that?''

I went to the Yahoo meassage boards and it's interesting to read all the comments about crippling Brady by the idiot fans. That does not surprise me one bit, but some of the media talking heads are making similar comments. I wonder how people would react if it was Randy Moss instead of Brady that was being singled out. He is the big name receiver. After all, Moss has 11 touchdowns so far. The media would probably then jump in andadmonish all the haters.

Jaxvid, didn't mean to jump in so quick, but I was writing while you were posting. By the way, speaking of Cowher's irresponsible statement, some folks believe the Steelers wouldn't have gone to the Super Bowl if Palmer hadn't been taken out... accidentally of course.

Might seem like semantics, but there is a difference between 'hoping' or 'wanting' a player to be injured to give another guy a shot, and actually suggesting that someone take the player out on purpose.

Not to mention that we're a group of outcastes (pun intended) on a message board on the Internet, whereas there are professionals (if you can call them that) in the media who are discussing someone deliberately taking Brady out.

I agree with you, Bart, if it was Moss instead of Brady it would be a different story. I wonder why no one has suggested taking out Belichek with a long rifle while we're at it.

This is so stupid, I mean, think about it. Purposely hurting a player because he's actually playing hard and beating you? The NFL and the total idiots who cover it have sunken even lower than I had expected with this foolishness.

If this were a black player and/or a black team destroying his/their white competition, not a word would be uttered. They would simply be labeled as: amazing.

This is beyond typical for Bill Cowher to say...he probably prays to God that Brady and the Pats' plane with explode on their way to a game. F*ck that a**hole Bill Cowher, he was a overrated coach and obviously a very stupid person to suggest this and be serious about it.
