Troy apke making enormous strides and is balling out at practice and is the projected starter next to Landon Collins. He could shine with an awesome defense that includes Matthews ionnadis, Cole Holcomb, Ryan karrigan.

It’s also being reported Ryan Nall has earned or is earning a spot on the roster this year, only 4 RBs on the roster and he should beat out his former Oregon state teammate who’s a unimpressive 24 year old rookie, if they were to only carry 3 RB.

Apke is another White athlete who could be a solid starting Cornerback.
64 starting corners and not one White, yet the number 10 100m Sprinter for USA is White. (Devin Quinn). 2Whites are Top 8 in USA 110m Hurdles (Trey Cunningham/Chad Zallow), 3 if you count Devon Allen. Super Elite NBA White athlete USA Alex Caruso/ best ncaa basketball athlete USA White Mac Mclung etc. but no White corners, shows the nfl is not a real sport but a deep state propaganda organ.

I think Murray in Arizona is the black quarterback I hate the most at this point - he's been treated with kid gloves since he was drafted, had the college offense he played in implemented, had several favorable calls over the course of the season to make him appear better than he is - .

Jackson is the black quarterback I despise the most. His ugly mug and low IQ make a mockery of what it means to be a QB, and that's a field general. A guy who looks like Buckwheat and who can barely speak English isn't someone I want leading me into battle.

It is 53 man roster eve and Santa Clause and his Elves are preparing to leave all sorts of goodies underneath the CF tree.

Wait a minute I think I see the Grinch. By the way that Jim Carrey live action movie makes me laugh. That adorable little girl in the movie grew up to be some sluttish metal singer. Who the hell what have seen that coming? Not her parents.

Ominous clouds are forming in some quarters. Are we surprised. The white wide receiver counter is going to be a precarious cliffhanger. Two late breaking stories and neither one of them is good.

Trey Quinn of Washington odd's of making the team have gone down this past week. I have looked at two late rosters and he isn't on them. And I doubt they will keep him around either on the practice squad ( which at this point is neither here or there) if they cut him.

David Sills of the Giants, perhaps the one receiver everybody here is most excited about, sat out their last practice due to an undisclosed injury. Man you do not want to suffer an injury during training camp. Their WR situation was already tightening up the past couple of days so we have to hope and pray it isn't anything serious and that Sills is still at the top of their list.

My understanding a couple or few of the black receivers aiming for Sills spot on the roster tore it up on the last day of practice. Just frigging great. Although Alex Bachman had a big day as well and has been ripping it all training camp. But his odds of making the 53 man coming in were greater than Sill's chances. Why don't they just put them both on the squad? Right who am I fooling. I also get a sense in many cases the QBs prefer the white receivers. I wish coaches would take that into more consideration.

Gonna half to sweat this sucker out it seems. Damn I thought Sills was in like flint.

The running back situation appears to be holding steady barring a disruption which you can never discount. The Bears Ryan Nall and the Dolphins Patrick Laird are still looking solid.

Rookie Nate Cottrell was described as the Jags fastest running back which is no surprise here. He is a bit of a long shot but miracles do happen from time to time. I think. If he doesn't squeeze in I believe they want him on the practice squad.

Best case scenario is he slips in. That gives the NFL CM along with Rex Burkhead. And then you add Laird, Nall and Cottrell. That shows some movement in the right direction. And clearly the RB position is in a better state than the CB position which has been DOA for years now.

Great updates Shadowlight. Let's try to stay positive until this weekends final cuts are announced. I know it's hard to be positive but negative energy only makes things worse. Nall deserves a legit shot more than almost any player in the nfl. Hope
it works out for him. Laird should make it with Cottrell being the wildcard.

As far as the receivers go I will predict Sills makes it.

I'm surprised WR Trey Quinn is in danger of not making the Redskins. I thought he was a really good prospect when he came out in 2018.

I know he's had some injury issues. Maybe that's why. And of course when the player is white you wonder if they're being cut because they're white.

Not much news on Lions WR Tom Kennedy But he seems to be doing alright in practice. He has a good shot at practice squad but I don’t expect him to make final cut. He’s competing against a skilless speedster in Marvin hall, and potentially unspectacular slot victor Bolden. Kennedy looks to be the 7th or potentially 6th WR if lucky which could mean practice squad.

One of the reasons I am not as positive as I would like is because of the rash of injuries that have occurred with so many white receivers this summer. I have a pet theory which may or may not have validity. I think white players try too hard and are doing things with their bodies that they shouldn't. It boils down to a white player going that extra mile knowing that if they don't look extraordinary their chances of sticking are diminished. These are black centric football teams and the last thing coaches want is to the give the impression they are sticking with a white player instead of a black player with all things being somewhat equal.

I also feel if a QB is more comfortable with the white receiver then the coaching staff should consider that in their final decisions. For instance if Big Ben wants Ryan Switzer then they should keep him on the squad. Why should a team ignore what the QB wants? Meshing and being on the same page is paramount when it coms to the WR-QB relationship. That is why Tom Brady is so great. He forms a bond and connection with his receivers like Edelman and Welker etc.. And we see the great results of that.

Honestly the list of QBs who meshed beautifully with a white WR is littered throughout the history of the NFL. Namath to Maynard and Sauer, Montana to Clark, Zorn to Largent and on and on and on. And for recent history buffs for anyone who wants to know the exact moment that Aaron Rodgers and the Packers front office's relationship started to deteriorate I'll tell you? The second they unceremoniously released the one and only Jordy Nelson.

Now a quick rundown of where the WRs stand.

Cody Thompson- Seahawks. You guessed it. He is banged up. A decent chance to land on the practice squad. But a player can only kick around like this for a year or two so Cody has to break through at some point this year or he might disappear.

John Hurst-Bucs. Talented and fast small school rookie was killing it until of course he got injured. Pretty good chance he lands on the practice squad.

Brandon Zylstra- Panthers. As mentioned in an above post by jacque all indications suggest Zylstra makes the squad after a strong training camp. This would be a nice development for CM's team.

Trey Quinn- Washington. As explained above his chances have diminished this past week. Again he came into the league and got banged up quickly and has had various injuries throughout his short career. And not helping matters Trey hasn't stood out much while he did play. Maybe like in college a change of scenery will do him some good?

David Sills - Giants. Discussed above and another player getting nicked up on the next to last day of spring training. Was having a stupendous camp and meshed beautifully with QB Daniel Jones. If he is ok I think he will make it but the whole thing has tightened up. Should have been drafted and deserves to be on the team. This is a critical moment for Sills. I think he might be the most watched player here at CF come Saturday afternoon.

Alex Bachman- Giants. Superb camp. Most indicate he just misses out but one can hold out hope. I am pretty sure they want to keep him. If they don't add him to the roster at worst a practice squad candidate. Good looking under the radar player his whole career. With speed.

Cody Hollister- Titans. It would be great if he could join Adam Humphries. One rumor I heard was it was between him and TE Geoff Swaim and if they keep the latter that would mean only 5 WRs on the roster but 4 TEs. I don't know about you guys but that number should be 6 WRs and 3 TEs. No offense to Swaim though.

Gehrig Dieter- Chiefs. I think we are looking at slim odds Dieter makes the squad. The practice squad is possible but remember some players are trade bait and he might be one of them. Need to get his foot in the door soon.

Mason Kinsey-Titans. They worked him out returning punts. I have a feeling they want him on the practice squad because they liked what they saw. Talented player and one to follow down the road.

Ryan Switzer- Steelers. Ho hum another injured player. If he is ok most lists have him making the squad which pisses off most of the slanted beat writers.

Trent Irwin- Bengals. Probably the last go around for Trent. I think the best we can hope for is the practice squad.

Alex Erickson- Bengals. The jerk beat writers don't much care for Alex ( see Switzer) but all indications is he will make the Bengals and be a solid contributor like always.

Gunner Olsweski- Patriots. Discussed above it looks pretty good. They would be stupid to cut him.

Dalton Schoen- Chargers. Rookie won't make squad. I have had trouble finding info on him. Would not rule out the practice squad.

Tom Kennedy-Lions. See above post I don't recall this player. For sure if he lands on the practice squad that's a win at this point.

Chad Beebe- Vikings. The Vikings are not off to a good start. To make matters worse the beat writers don't much care for Chad either ( are you detecting a trend here?). A shifting sands situation. The media is looking for every excuse to unload Beebe. He has the quickness necessary to succeed in the slot. But he too has had to deal with injuries in the past but as far as I know he has been fine health wise this summer. And there is another trend he would have to buck to make the squad. Most all teams with a couple of exceptions can't seem to allow themselves to have two white WRs. Beebe was a sure shot before spring training. Now his fate is up in the air. The media has been trying like hell to knee cap him. Another sweat it out player come Saturday. The Vikings as most might know by now have moved WR Dan Chisena to safety. If he lands on the practice squad that would be a great sign.

One final word on Chris Finke. The 49ers let him go because he failed their physical due to an injured hamstring. Yes that same battered hamstring he ran the 40 in at the combine. So I think it is premature to write him off. Finke needs to heal up this year and gear up for next year. I don't think we have heard the last of him yet.

Maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised and internally I have some ( cautious) optimism. Ax white lightning says might as well think positive for another day plus.

Chad Hansen has a decent shot at Texans roster. The 4 locks on the roster are extremely injury prone, then you have Keke Coutee, Hansen, a rookie, and 2 unproductive nobodies.

Before I mention one more pet theory of mine regarding injuries it looks like the Steelers are playing the "it's time to bring in the white man" theory. Yes they have named Diontae Johnson as their punt returner. Greatest thing since sliced bread right? Not exactly. They are "concerned" Diontae may muck up the trickier punts so chances are good they will insert- here comes the honky- Ryan Switzer to handle the "safe" punts inside the 20 yard line because I quote " Ryan has earned a lot of trust with his techniques and ball security." That is a fancy way of saying he isn't going to do something stupid in deep enemy territory which apparently Johnson might.

Hey if that what lands Switzer on the team I will take it at this point. The good news he was fielding punts yesterday so I am sensing that injury issue was minor. I would be surprised if he is left off the roster.

That David Sills' fate rests primarily with the extent of his current injury just amplifies how important it is for white wide receivers to stay healthy. The majority of white WRs who have struggled to make a roster in recent times have struggled with injuries. It really diminishes their chances of advancing. It is a major reason so many white receivers aren't getting on rosters.

I believe that there are, more than realized, black players currently injecting/ingesting steroids which cause down the road injuries. But for white players I am concerned about their attempts to keep up in terms of strength with too much weightlifting. As a former lifter I truly believe weightlifting if done wrong which it usually is, significantly leads to injuries. I cringe every time I see a budding young white WR prospect on twitter deadlifting an enormous amount of weight and afterwards high fiving all his buddies. I understand the macho aspect of all that. The weights might help them advance in the short term. The added strength ( although core strength naturally increases in men in their late 20's and 30's) might get them a scholarship and even get drafted. Then on the fourth day of his first training camp he ruptures something and we never hear about him ever again.

I am not against a modicum of a strength building regiment. But I prefer more concentration on things like endurance which helps a player maintain their strength better throughout a game and a season without breaking down.

I truly believe the over emphasis on weightlifting is one of the main reasons athletes get injured. While stretching and warming up are fine baseball players stretch for days yet pull a hammy rolling out of bed. Too much straining on their muscles and tendons with heavy lifting. I prefer an old fashioned approach that focuses more on agility and endurance. It is safer, better for the body and pays off down the road. I wouldn't totally ignore some form of strength work but in my mind that aspect is way overdone these days and it leads to needless bad injuries.

So to me white players trying too hard to impress the coaches along with poor weightlifting habits mightily contribute to these rash of injuries that pop up every damn year. And we see what happens to budding white wide receivers who succumb to injuries. Not a pretty sight.

He was going to make the active 53 to, but at the very least this means Alex Bachman has a really good shot at roster

David Sills season ending fractured foot, placed on IR. What a downer.

Who says life isn't gruesome? This is a heartbreaking tale. After all the crap Sills went through last year of not getting drafted and then the Bills kicking him the nuts he comes back this year fresh and ready and kills it in spring training. Looked like a near or close to near lock to make the team and now this. This is a major blow. And I know many here at CF are crestfallen. All of a sudden my enthusiasm for tomorrow's roster announcements has lost a lot of luster.

What next? If and it is a big if Bachman makes the roster then it will soften the blow. If he doesn't then it is straight ahead hell town. No point sugarcoating this. One itsy bitsy glimmer is Sills was placed on the IR which I think means they will look at him again next year. It will be his third. This year is Bachman's third. He missed his initial season with the Rams organization with a sports hernia. What did I say about injuries?

Bachman then is behind a full year and at 24 time is running out. We will get a good glimpse of what direction new HC Judge will be going caste wise when we find out Bachman's fate. 50-50 as far as I can tell. If it was me I would pick him in a heartbeat. Great speed from the slot too. His senior year at Wake proved he has the talent. Below is a recent article describing Bachman's talents. Might have to scroll down a touch to see it.

It's hard to tell whats happening with Rosen. My theory was, was that he was going to be used as a developmental QB and an insurance policy if Tua got injured. I actually kind of feel bad for Rosen. He probably got the rawest deal out of any NFL player I've ever seen. But now, I'm hearing they're using him as trade bait. I hope they don't trade him. I like the idea of keeping him around as an insurance policy as we know already know Fitzpatrick ain't the answer at QB.

They cut Rosen...he's probably done for at this point. The Panthers, Redskins and Patriots should all consider him since he has more potential than any three of their starting QBs.

Even teams like the Bucs and Saints should consider Rosen as the next QB. I'd personally rather take my chances with Rosen then Winston as a potential heir apparent to Brees.

This is what I've been personally railing against during my time here at CF.

Scam being named the started in New England is fine with me as I do not believe the Patriots are going to be contenders this season. He isn't the player he was 5 years ago and he has never made efforts to become a competent pocket passing QB. Lots of overthrows for the Pats receivers this season. I believe Josh Allen, Fitzpatrick and Darnold (primed for a breakout) are all better QBs then Scam.

Idler Arm is just a place holder for the uber talented Justin Herbert. Idler Arm was supposed to be the starting QB the whole year in Cleveland and Mayfield came in and won the job. I won't be surprised to see Herbert starting at some point this season.

Prescott is about as overrated as an average QB can be - partly because he plays for the cowboys and partly because he is partly black. The Dallas Oline is a year older, Elliot is a year older too. Who knows what McCarthy will do in Dallas but Garrett built that team to give Prescott every chance to be a transcendent QB and he failed. With this being a contract year and if Prescott struggles it would be great to see the Red Rifle get in there and give the Cowboys some leverage.

I don't think Haskins will be anything better than Jason Campbell was for them. Campbell was an average QB who was propped up by Joe Gibbs. I wouldn't be surprised to see some decent games out of him early in the season before he gets figured out. He does not seem to be overly intelligent or athletic.

I'll group Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City and Arizona together. Mahomes has proven me wrong and has become one of the great QBs in the game - I don't like the guy but I won't deny that he is a top 5 QB. Watson is a paper tiger to me - lots of look at me rah rah nonsense - Deandre Hopkins made him look alot better then he is IMO. I think Murray in Arizona is the black quarterback I hate the most at this point - he's been treated with kid gloves since he was drafted, had the college offense he played in implemented, had several favorable calls over the course of the season to make him appear better than he is - Jones and Minishew were both better than Murray last year but Murray is the poster child BSPN fantasy football this year because apparently that is all that matters. That leads us to Lamar Jackson - the QB that the media has hyped up to a nauseating degree (probably the most hyped QB since Vick). Jackson is a very talented athlete, I do not think his passing game is going to get much more refined though and as I stated earlier in the thread the Titans masterful gameplan in the playoffs last season illustrated how to stop the Baltimore offense as well as show Jackson as not being able to keep his cool as he lost his composure a few times. This season more games will not go his way plus the inevitable big hits he will start accruing will slowly erode his running ability.

Fragile Teddy in Carolina might not make it through the season. He will be the beneficiary of having the best RB in the game to use as a security blanket but outside of C-Mac the Panthers offensive weapons do not at all compare with the Saints. I dislike pretty much everything Rhule has done at this point - he is one of these younger coaches who is all in on the caste system (Kingsbury, Riley, Heupel all come to mind too). I doubt Bridgewater will be more than a stop gap QB. Brady is going to be playing with a huge chip on his shoulder (I am team Brady - screw BB at this point), Matt Ryan is never the problem in ATL - It's the defense and Drew Brees can still get the ball where it needs to be. Bridgewater is a distant fourth and the Panthers are a young team so Brady, Ryan and Brees should all take advantage of that.

And in Seattle Wilson will continue to roll out and heave the ball downfield to an open receiver yet defensive coordinators never play to that obvious tendency.
Great post as always. Nice to get a synopsis on all the upsiders. Last year was a watershed make for “black quarterbacks”. I expect a regression to the mean this year.

With Denver's surprise cut of starting ILB Todd Davis the other day, the semi-forgotten Josey Jewell is the top choice to replace him. Fingers crossed as Jewell continues to be slammed as "unathletic." So was Chris Borland and of course many others. Jewell is always productive when he plays.

Big-time bust Reuben Foster was put on IR (again) by the "Washington Football Team," which further solidifies Cole Holcomb's position as one of the starting linebackers. He had an excellent rookie season last year but of course the doubters remain as he wasn't drafted until the fifth round despite his tremendous productivity at North Carolina and topnotch speed.

Foster? Isn't he the idiot that started a fight with a medical staff during the combine. Right then and there teams should have said no thanks.

Two human interest stories moving in opposite directions.

Remember the one armed Shaquem Griffin who stole the 2018 NFL combine with his ( which turned out to be fraudulent) 4.38 40 yard dash? Seattle just dumped the Milli Vanilli extra. I'm not putting any blame on this fellow. The media overdid their lavish coverage which was partly based on a lie. I never thought he was NFL material but one can't dismiss the things he had to overcome just to get there.

Meanwhile QB Alex Smith made the Washington 53 man roster. A profile in courage he is listed as their 3rd QB. Whether he actually plays this season is an open question but coming back from his devastating leg injury is one of the greatest comebacks I have ever seen.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong. So be it. But I can's contain myself.

Both WR Chad Beebe and WR turned S Dan Chisena are rumored to have made the Vikings 53 man roster.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just read that Artavis Pierce was cut by the Bears clearing the way for Nall to start hopefully....Pierce will be on their practice squad.....Good news for Nall, unless they sign Adrian Peterson

Didn't think Jaguars WR/PR/KR Michael Walker was going to make roster anyway but he was waived and a knee injury of some sort was involved as well.

Also two more bad cuts.

Rookie Clay Johnston of the Rams and our buddy John Elway came through as usual by axing rookie Edge Derek Tuszka.

Yep, looks like Dan Chisena made the team for his special teams ability. Personally I think they should cross train him at WR and S.

I thought at the strike of 4:00 all of our questions would be answered. Apparently that is not the case so we may have to sweat things out as news dribbles in.

The Dolphins just traded to picked up an overrated all purpose RB/KR Lynn Snowden from the Raiders who I think is a rookie from Kentucky. This might affect Patrick Laird?

If Laird gets lopped off what a dirty late minute move. But not sure what will happen here. I'll hold my fire for the time being.
