There is no point in shell shocking him if he isn't in sink with receivers or he has problems adjusting to faster linebacker and defensive backs in the NFL. Taylor knows why he is "the starter".

I would have preferred a veteran who plays more like Herbert, but guys who have been proven starters in the past and are willing to be film room second eyes are hard to find, so the Chargers settled on Taylor.

The Patriot way is more than likely coming to an end. This was a poor desperation move last year and cost them a 2nd round pick. BB's poor track record of bringing in non-white WRs is pretty astonishing and somewhat comical. Randy Moss was a great signing for them at the time but outside of him I can't think of any other. Meanwhile "the Patriot Way" saw them bring in Wes Welker as an unheralded FA signing, draft Julian Edelman and develop him, snatch up Amendola and utilize him and sign Hogan away from Buffalo. Not to mention the Woodhead and Burkhead signings.

BB is grasping at straws now bringing in Scam and whispers are he wants Fournette as well. The Patriot Way is nothing but a shell of it's former self.

Patriots released WR Mohamed Sanu.
Sanu's ankle must be beyond repair. The Patriots made the stunning move at the trade deadline to acquire Sanu for a second-round pick last season, likely in an attempt to patch together a final Super Bowl push with Tom Brady. It didn't pay off to say the least. He injured his ankle immediately and never looked the same while playing through it. The Patriots have major issues at receiver right now with 34-year-old Julian Edelman and first-round question mark N'Keal Harry at the top of the depth chart. Bill Belichick probably needs to make a last-minute move to get Cam Newton some more weapons. At least this release saves Belichick $6.5 million in cap space.

If Gunner makes the team and plays, the release of Sanu will be a positive. He's been getting a fair amount of positive hype, so we'll keep our fingers crossed.

The Patriots are still the most undecided team this season as far as demographics. If Gunner, Edelman, Stidham, Burkhead and Keene play some or regularly on offense, and Winovich, Simon and Allen on defense (all three are currently listed as starters by Our Lads), New England can still be a very watchable team. But the final product might not be nearly as watchable depending on final roster cuts and who starts and who doesn't.

So, Kirk Cousins is being attacked and shamed for stating in an interview that he wasn’t worried about the corona b.s. I have new respect for him. But, i will wait and see if he is forced to backtrack and apologize.

Would I be crazy to say Gunner Olszewski is a lock to make the team after the release of Sanu? Everyone has praised Gunner from Belichick to Stephon Gilmore, and word on the street is that he has become a fantastic route runner and is a great competitor. He’s probably the best return man on the team, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him as the 3rd/4th receiver and starting returner. Edelman and Harry are definitely above him and maybe Jakobi Meyers, but Gunner is definitely not behind anyone else.

I agree and think he will be the 3rd receiver. If I was New England, I would play him more at wide receiver and less at returns as they are very thin at the wide out position. He is too valuable to possibly be hurt the way Jason Sehorn was.

First of all while on the subject of Carolina the last indicator I saw does indeed have WR Brandon Zylstra making the roster. When it comes to white WRs you can never put that lock idea into the bank but all signs point in a positive direction. We will find out soon.

As for LB Kunaszyk at the risk of turning this saga into a Laurel and Hardy reel these pictures don't entirely clear up the matter for me. Just call me straight jacket Shadow but there are some confusing signs. For starters that sounds like a Polish name and the dad does indeed look Polish. My experience is children of a Polish dad look Polish. But Jordan does not look like his dad and does not have his dad's white skin coloring either.

So what about the mom? I see some similarity between Jordan and his mom. Then look at the picture of Jordan with his two siblings? The one on the left resembles the mom I think. The younger one on the right is a Polish child.

Did the mom remarry and Jordan and the other brother are from her first marriage whereas the younger boy's dad is Polish? Are those Jordan's siblings? That would be my first question. This is like that old SNL skit with Pat. No one could figure out if Pat was a he or a she. Now it is obvious that Jordan if he is mixed (?) is overwhelmingly white. But for me the mystery continues.

What does it matter how good the White receivers are in that the black QB won't be able to consistently get the ball to them?

Yep it’s really hard to tell. He has straight white guy hair but the hairline is suspect. And the tanness. I’m his younger photos I thought he really looked white and has his fathers nose and eyes ,but look at Texans linebacker Dylan Cole who’s the same way and turns out to be mixed. I’m about 60% sure he’s white.... at the end of the day he’s a fringe bottom of roster guy with not much upside so I won’t worry to much

Giants international RB Sandro Platzgummer is working a lot with second team. His teammates and media like him and gets a lot of coverage, he looks pretty good in camp. With his international roster spot exemption he will be safe in league for years but the question if he makes active roster and plays.

Don’t mean to spam the thread but Clayton Fejedelem is having a great camp and is a leader, May end up starting. Don’t understand (actually I do understand) how his brother Jeremy isn’t on a roster and hasn’t even gotten looks.

Jacque good point about Kunaszyk It isn't like he is a star running back. Probably a special teamer so at the end of the day not that big a deal.

Good to hear about Clayton. That would be nice if he finally gets a deserving starting nod? As for his brother Jeremy who was a stand out S at Air Force? I believe he hung up his cleats. My guess is he is flying fighter jets in the Air Force right now? Good looking prospect so a bit of another mystery although as usual the scouts were ignoring him.

Jordan Fehr was looking good in camp and some Vikings media had him making the team as the 5th LB... but of course he got cut by the Vikings.

As a person of Polish descent, I can assure you we Poles can tan quite well sometimes. My grandfather was 100% Polish and would get very dark in the summer- my dad and I the same way.

To me Jordan’s facial features sure look White.

The Jags are trading starting safety Ronnie Harrison to the Browns, this should be good news for Andrew Wingard unless they’re planning to bring someone else in. Wingard should make the team based on his special teams presence alone and he did a solid job at the end of the season when he got extensive time at safety. He finished his rookie year with 28 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.

Wingard can be a star if given the opportunity.
I recall LaDainian Tomlinson once quoted as saying something along the lines of nearly everyone could be a starter if given opportunity- and that is what kills our guys... lack of fair shake and opportunity.

Cam Newton has reportedly been named the Patriots' starter. That makes ten black QBs starting by my ciphering -- Arizona, Baltimore, Carolina, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, LA Chargers, New England, Seattle and Washington. That's close to a third, and that percentage is sure to keep rising in the coming years.

In my opinion Cam Newton’s time is limited. His shoulder isn’t what it used to be as we saw at Carolina. Stidham should be the starter by the end of the year.

It's hard to tell whats happening with Rosen. My theory was, was that he was going to be used as a developmental QB and an insurance policy if Tua got injured. I actually kind of feel bad for Rosen. He probably got the rawest deal out of any NFL player I've ever seen. But now, I'm hearing they're using him as trade bait. I hope they don't trade him. I like the idea of keeping him around as an insurance policy as we know already know Fitzpatrick ain't the answer at QB.

This is what I've been personally railing against during my time here at CF.

Scam being named the started in New England is fine with me as I do not believe the Patriots are going to be contenders this season. He isn't the player he was 5 years ago and he has never made efforts to become a competent pocket passing QB. Lots of overthrows for the Pats receivers this season. I believe Josh Allen, Fitzpatrick and Darnold (primed for a breakout) are all better QBs then Scam.

Idler Arm is just a place holder for the uber talented Justin Herbert. Idler Arm was supposed to be the starting QB the whole year in Cleveland and Mayfield came in and won the job. I won't be surprised to see Herbert starting at some point this season.

Prescott is about as overrated as an average QB can be - partly because he plays for the cowboys and partly because he is partly black. The Dallas Oline is a year older, Elliot is a year older too. Who knows what McCarthy will do in Dallas but Garrett built that team to give Prescott every chance to be a transcendent QB and he failed. With this being a contract year and if Prescott struggles it would be great to see the Red Rifle get in there and give the Cowboys some leverage.

I don't think Haskins will be anything better than Jason Campbell was for them. Campbell was an average QB who was propped up by Joe Gibbs. I wouldn't be surprised to see some decent games out of him early in the season before he gets figured out. He does not seem to be overly intelligent or athletic.

I'll group Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City and Arizona together. Mahomes has proven me wrong and has become one of the great QBs in the game - I don't like the guy but I won't deny that he is a top 5 QB. Watson is a paper tiger to me - lots of look at me rah rah nonsense - Deandre Hopkins made him look alot better then he is IMO. I think Murray in Arizona is the black quarterback I hate the most at this point - he's been treated with kid gloves since he was drafted, had the college offense he played in implemented, had several favorable calls over the course of the season to make him appear better than he is - Jones and Minishew were both better than Murray last year but Murray is the poster child BSPN fantasy football this year because apparently that is all that matters. That leads us to Lamar Jackson - the QB that the media has hyped up to a nauseating degree (probably the most hyped QB since Vick). Jackson is a very talented athlete, I do not think his passing game is going to get much more refined though and as I stated earlier in the thread the Titans masterful gameplan in the playoffs last season illustrated how to stop the Baltimore offense as well as show Jackson as not being able to keep his cool as he lost his composure a few times. This season more games will not go his way plus the inevitable big hits he will start accruing will slowly erode his running ability.

Fragile Teddy in Carolina might not make it through the season. He will be the beneficiary of having the best RB in the game to use as a security blanket but outside of C-Mac the Panthers offensive weapons do not at all compare with the Saints. I dislike pretty much everything Rhule has done at this point - he is one of these younger coaches who is all in on the caste system (Kingsbury, Riley, Heupel all come to mind too). I doubt Bridgewater will be more than a stop gap QB. Brady is going to be playing with a huge chip on his shoulder (I am team Brady - screw BB at this point), Matt Ryan is never the problem in ATL - It's the defense and Drew Brees can still get the ball where it needs to be. Bridgewater is a distant fourth and the Panthers are a young team so Brady, Ryan and Brees should all take advantage of that.

And in Seattle Wilson will continue to roll out and heave the ball downfield to an open receiver yet defensive coordinators never play to that obvious tendency.

I agree on Rosen. He was on a terrible Cardinals team - strung along publicly by Kingsbury and probably lied too regarding the drafting of Murray, jettisoned to Miami to play on a talent deprived team. By all accounts he has done well in handling the adversity. Fitzpatrick is a pro's pro and it seems like Rosen is soaking up all of the good habits and knowledge from Fitz. Rosen played on some bad UCLA teams - in terms of poor coaching by Mora Jr. and poor personnel around him and he kept his team in plenty of games and won some as well. I think the talent is all there it's just a matter of getting an opportunity.

The NFL continues to dig itself into a bigger hole.

Troy apke making enormous strides and is balling out at practice and is the projected starter next to Landon Collins. He could shine with an awesome defense that includes Matthews ionnadis, Cole Holcomb, Ryan karrigan.

It’s also being reported Ryan Nall has earned or is earning a spot on the roster this year, only 4 RBs on the roster and he should beat out his former Oregon state teammate who’s a unimpressive 24 year old rookie, if they were to only carry 3 RB.
