I agree with you TomIron361, I never see kids playing catch or having a neighborhood game of baseball. They are all walking with their heads down looking at a cell phone. Man, I hoped you are blessed with an extremely long life.

Baseball has become a specialized sport. A big reason we don't see kids around the neighborhood is those that are dedicated enough to play are usually on some type of travel team where the parent may take their kid to the next county or even state to play for elite teams. I know, I hauled my own son around for a few years playing for travel teams until he decided to solely concentrate on football. However, there are still local little league teams as well in my area of the state.

In MLB news, Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon was hitting an even .500 until going 0-4 last night. Hitting .472 as of now and with the shortened season has a chance to hit .400.
However, there would be an asterisk by his name. He's leading the league in Hits, 34, RBI, 20, BA. .472, OBP. .506, and OPS, 1.187.

Trout hit his 8th HR in just 15 games yesterday.

You are so right Carolina Speed about the travel teams. I give travel parents so much credit for the time they put in for their kids just so they can play ball. As I'm sure you can attest to how hot it gets in the south.

Good point regarding traveling teams @Carolina Speed .

Nice to see Blackmon off to a hot start in this whacky season. He's definitely flown under the radar nationally last few years. I don't think he gets the Respect he deserves. Partially because he plays in a hitters ballpark a mile high and partially because of his melanin. MLB has gone all out to promote their young, Black, Latin Americans.

I know I've told ya'll this before, but Clemson great and now NFL Safety, Tanner Muse was on one of those travel teams with my son. You can imagine how good that team was!
In those days Muse was expected to play college baseball or even get drafted, but really blossomed as a football player.

Based on the below message, you would have thought that Reds announcer Thom Brenneman said something as serious as calling for the mass extermination of homosexuals in Auschwitz Birkenau. But rather he was just caught on a hot mic saying KC is the “f ag capital of the world”

He later appeared on screen “begging” the viewer for forgiveness

I wonder if these beacons of homosexuality are strategic as Atlanta is one for the south and San Fran Freako is one for the west, now KC in the heartland is another. In the bible there was only one Sodom and Gomorrah.

Houston Astros rookie OF Kyle Tucker hit his league leading 6th triple of the season and had three RBI giving him 26 RBI on the season. He also has 5 HR's and has stolen 4 bases and hasn't been caught. He probably could have more as he stole 30 bases in Triple A ball in one season. Can't have whitey running too much now can we.

Nice name to bring up Carolina Speed. Lot of talk about Kyle Tucker's talent and it is finally starting to shine through. I wish super speedster Myles Straw could get more playing time but Tucker is one to watch for sure.

Last night might have been the first night my three favorite players had good games on the same day. If it wasn't the first it still has been rare this season. Hope I don't jinx any of them by bringing it up.

OF Cody Bellinger got off to a horrendous start but he is slowly getting back into form. Last night he hit his 9th HR and drove in 2 going 1-3 in a win.

SS Trea Turner went 5-5 and raised his BA to .350. in a loss. He has been scorching hot lately.

OF Mike Trout went 3-4, scored 4 runs, hit his 13 HR and drove in a big 6 runs. Mike had been struggling of late until two nights ago where he hit a HR and went 1-3. His average is up to .282. He is my favorite player. When he plays well I feel better.

He is my favorite player too. Mike Trout it the best baseball player I've ever seen. If only a few of us here would have been smart enough to buy his rookie card which just sold for a small fortune! :)

Having spent time in all 3 of these places San Fran stands far above the rest. As for the south and eastern US its clearly Miami. It wasnt until 5 years ago I first went there and somehow never heard anything about it prior. That was the fruitiest place on earth even more so than SF which would be #1 in the media.

I'll be honest I haven't followed baseball yet - don't think I have watched an inning of this season. I am a huge baseball fan but with the dolt Manfred as commissioner it has put a damper on the season. I'll try to catch a few games here and there and get up to speed on the stats for our guys.

Is KC really full of homos? I’ve never been but would like to visit someday, to try some of their famous barbecue if nothing else. @FootballDad , we need your on the ground report.

The faggiest places I’ve every been in no particular order are NYC, Miami, Los Angeles (West Hollywood) and Key West. I really can’t imagine a place like KC even coming close....

There aren’t enough Mike Trout’s in the world to make me want to watch one minute of sport that does this:

The New York Mets and Miami Marlins jointly walked off the field after a moment of silence, draping a Black Lives Matter T-shirt across home plate as they chose not to play Thursday night.

After other games around baseball were postponed to protest social injustice, the Mets were late to take the field Thursday and neither starting pitcher threw any warm-up pitches. The teams stood around their dugouts in full uniforms shortly before the 7:10 p.m. scheduled first pitch, and the national anthem was played and all players and coaches stood.

Mets outfielder Dominic Smith – a Black man who wept Wednesday night while discussing the shooting by police of a Black man in Wisconsin over the weekend – then led New York onto the field. Players took their positions, then reserves and coaches filed out of both dugouts and stood silently.

Both teams then returned to their clubhouses, leaving only the black T-shirt at home.

I was checking in on this "game" because I believe it seemed like it was the only one going to be played that night. It sure looked like they were going to until they pulled the rug out at the last minute.

But this nasty incident further illustrates what I said earlier and that is this BLM charade is taking advantage of the fact that no fans are allowed to attend games. The only back drop we see is a fawning media genuflecting every second of the way.

Imagine s ballpark full of fans and they pulled that shite? This is what frustrates me the most. We aren't allowed to see tangible proof of fan backlash. Just TV ratings for now and they are often hard to interpret.

We saw glimpses of fan backlash with the NFL kneeling back when. And even though perhaps part of the population is more sympathetic to the BLM plight now I still feel that fan anger would be much more demonstrably antagonistic towards players than it was during the kneeling episodes.

MLB Ratings Crash As Wokeness Takes Its Toll

Primetime ratings for Major League Baseball are in freefall, as the season began with players kneeling for the National Anthem and standing for Black Lives Matter.

The league joins the 'highly political NBA,' which has turned off a large portion of its audience and seen ratings suffer as a result.

Breitbart:

Sunday, baseball’s flagship primetime night, has been particularly bad. As Sports Media Watch reports, last Weekend’s edition of Sunday Night Baseball was down 30 percent over last year.

The site reported that the “Braves-Phillies earned a 0.8 and 1.20 million on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball (including ESPN2 Statcast coverage) — down 30% in ratings and 33% in viewership from week five of last season (5/5/19: Cardinals-Cubs: 1.1, 1.81M), but up a tick and 2% respectively from last year’s comparable date (9/1/19 Mets-Phillies: 0.7, 1.19M).

Saturday wasn't much better - with Sports Media Watch reporting that "FOX averaged a 0.9 rating and 1.36 million viewers for regional Major League Baseball last Saturday afternoon (Braves-Phillies or Indians-Cardinals), marking its smallest MLB audience in two years

Meanwhile, a study cited by Breitbart reveals that most fans think the NBA's politicization, along with its fealty to China, has made them stop watching.

Get woke, go broke.

I agree and as a big baseball fan it pains me to say it.

All the BLM stuff is literally sickening. Grown men being forced to kneel for a literal Marxist movement that is built on a pack of lies. I was excited for the season but now I’m considering boycotting it.

PS - I’m seeing that the Cleveland Indians are considering a name change now. I was presented this news on the bottom ticker of BSPN (which I never watch and don’t pay for). No kidding, the scrolling ticker is over half “social justice” crap. Did people under the Soviets have to endure this much BS on a daily basis?

At this point I legitimately think that our ruling elites are pushing the BLM (bowel) movement harder and with more foam in their mouths than the Soviets promoted communism. Maybe it was this bad in 1917 when Lenin and his Bolshevik death squads were eager and just getting started. But after 70 years of total control they had long since burned themselves out and even most high-ranking Communist Party officials were just going through the motions.

No way this garbage lasts for 70 years, though. The Soviet Union, although it was an evil empire and incompetent in many ways, was far more capable than this current batch of retarded clowns, they weren't suicidal lunatics, and at least the Soviets had the ability to plan for the future - something that today's ruling idiots are too dumb to do. Everything about them is all about the present, the here and now, with no ability to learn from the past or plan for the future. Literally everything that comes from any liberal media outlet these days is designed to stimulate only the most primitive, reptilian part of the brain, and provide a nonstop dopamine rush to its drooling, moronic consumers. Whether it's the pathetic joke called CNN or the pathetic joke that televised baseball has become, the purpose is the same: Reward the most coddled, privileged group in America - left-wing extremists - by providing them with one dopamine hit after another in the form of "Whitey be evil, hurrrrr!" "Antifa be morally perfect, oh yeahhhhh!" type broadcasts. "News" and "sports" channels these days essentially have devolved into political pornography channels for libturds.

It's sad because I used to love baseball. I'll still follow Mike Trout's career but I'm not going to make myself miserable watching games in which more energy is devoted to spewing hate at groups I belong to than to the actual game.

Some highlights yesterday from the summer Softball/Little League, formerly know as Major League Baseball. Brewers 19 Tigers 0. Braves 29 Marlins 9. Expect wimp burger Rob Manfred to install a college softball mercy rule any minute now.

I thought the ball flew out of the park last year but this year they are leaving out even farther and a higher rate of speed than last year according to the announcers.

This season has been downright unwatchable. From the BLM bullcrap (including postponing games for a literal black rapist) to the asinine rule changes (man on 2nd in extras, DH in the NL, etc) to the poor play on the field. I still boxscore watch for the countless White players having fantastic season but I can’t muster any genuine excitement.

The ruling system has ratcheted up to the point where nothing is entertaining or enjoyable anymore. Sports, movies, music, art, fashion, literature. All of it designed to crush your soul and spirit. This neoliberal / global Marxist corporatist monolith is a revolt against nature (God) and everything beautiful. I’m sorry for all the blackpilling, but this system needs to be destroyed in it’s entirety.

I can't get into baseball either. For me I need to have the full season plus spring training and fantasy baseball. It's a seasonal thing - I always enjoyed the anticipation of the season through the early spring to opening day. The BLM/Marxist antics do not help either. Not to mention the commissioner is a bozo and @Bucky and @booth both mentioning the juiced balls. The game is not the same one I remember as a kid. They need to go back to using the ball they used pre 1994 strike. I miss the game as it should be played - strategy, small ball, repercussions for players with attitude problems, baseball justice for teams who disgrace the game.

Hopefully next year everything is back to normal and I can go my normal routine starting with spring training and be able to enjoy the season as it should be played. I love watching early April baseball while drinking a beer.

Plus by the mid 1980’s we knew it was all a bunch of bs.Political meetings after work were considerably seen as a joke.
90 plus percent of the population didn’t believe anything from the government. In the Army us Slavic guys would group together like a prison gang and fight off all the scum from the “stans”
