The height and reach advantage of Jacobs was a little too much to overcome. I also think that Jacobs knew what he had as they have sparred for years together, it looked like he Jacobs ready to go at one point in the 12th round but his tank was near empty at that point.

Sergey usually overcomes opponents with his quickness, but he couldn't get to Jacobs like he's done with most of the others. Jacobs did seem like he knew what to expect. It was a good, competitive fight, very close. A couple of rounds could have made the difference.

I had Derevyanchenko winning 114-113, but I didn't expect him to get a decision in the US over a privileged high-profile African-American boxer.

When you box your opponent in his hometown under his promotional team, you better knock him out. Plus being his sparring partner, you should have a good idea of what your opponent is capable of doing. All the good Russian boxers seem to be mismanaged to me.

If GGG has not gotten old over the past couple months, I see him with a dominating victory over Derevyanchenko.

He's clearly past his best buy date, no offense to the Ukrainian but he would have been steamrolled similar to Macklin, Gaele and others. His shots looked slow and that affected his precision. I suspect PEDnelo and team Golden Shower will sign to fight him in the spring unless he has a rematch with Kovalev.

There are reports that GGG was ill. Could be. But it could be father time creeping up. No matter. I loved watching GGG fight. He was and maybe still is a class act. He never really lost a fight. This fight was arguably a toss up, but GGG got the nod. I will look forward to his next. Maybe GGG will consider switching up trainers.

GGG jaw must be made with titanium. He is all warrior and one of my favorite boxers but being honest he lost last night. That is just my opinion and I respect anybody's opinion that says he won.

Looks like father time is knocking on GGG's door. He doesn't look like the force he was 3 years ago. My brother says he was sick last night, which would explain his substandard performance or may his new trainer is not bringing anything to the table. We will see how he does the next fight.

This was not an easy match-up for GGG. The Ukranian is a highly skilled tough fighter. A good win for GGG that means more than a knock-out over some handpicked opponent. I still like GGG's chances against any middleweight out there.

Derevyanchenko will need a KO to win against an African-American boxer on an Al Haymon card.
Yes Al Haymon doesn't give away his titles easily, just watch the various score cards since he launched the PBC. Draws and bizarre wide points wins for the house fighter are the norm. Wilder has benefited from this as much as anybody as that's the only reason he is getting a rubber bout with Fury.

Returns this weekend vs Carlos Adames.

Dervyanchenko is a very good fighter, honestly and without bias.. I scored all three of his losses to him, He beat Golovkin 8-4 imo, and against Jacobs and Charlo I had him winning 7-5. He's been unlucky in his biggest fights with the judges.
