It's been missed on this board. It seems like the voters had 3 locks in Gonzalez, Reed and Bailey so there wasn't any room for Hutch or Faneca but there was room for Mawae? Ty Law is also the first Patriot of the championship runs to make the hall of fame, he might be the weakest Patriot of the Brady era to make the hall of fame.

Johnny Robinson finally made the hall of fame, he might have been the biggest omission since Hanburger made the hall a few years ago. Gil Brandt and Pat Bowlen made the hall as contributors.........http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/...football-hall-of-fame-meet-the-newest-members

It's outrageous that Mawae made it in before Faneca. Faneca was just a slight step below Joe Thomas in his greatness as an o-lineman. Then again, who knows if Thomas will make it the first few years he's eligible. Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to the selections to Canton and Cooperstown.

Yes my first impression on Mawae was a guy who would have to wait a long time to make the hall of fame, being that he played among the least glamorous positions in the hall of fame. Also it seemed Faneca was queued ahead of Mawae. I hope he or Hutch isn't one of those guys lost in the shuffle who have to wait as long as Kramer did for his induction or worse after their death like Stabler and others.

Forgot about Steve Hutchinson, he was another all-time great guard who should have gotten in before Mawae.

Mawae is not black, he’s a Pacific Islander (of Hawaiian and Samoan descent).

As for the Edelman HOF talk, he needs maybe one more good regular season and another solid playoff run. That should solidify his case, but right now he’s just short in my estimation. If he can get close to 8500-9000 yards receiving plus another 10-15 TDs, it can happen. A good comparison is Lynn Swann, who didn’t have overwhelming regular season numbers, but did well in the postseason.

Faneca and Hutchinson were the two most dominant guards of their era and should of easily been first ballot HOFers. As Don said nothing is surprising anymore when it comes to HOF inductions.

It's interesting to hear about great white players of the past who don't get any mention by the modern media. Particularly at a position like guard, which is about as unglamorous and underrated as it gets other than special teams.

I wonder if Marshal Yanda, the most dominant guard of this generation, who should be a surefire Hall of Famer, will get the same treatment that Faneca and Hutchinson are getting.

Been asking it for decades now, but why is Ken Anderson not in the HOF? The guy was one of the most talented QBs ever, put up great numbers for his era (some of it would still be pretty impressive), playing on simply awful teams at times. I guess too many more white QBs in the HOF would be unfitting for our era.

Ken Anderson isn't in the HOF because he didn't bring the Bengals from behind to win Super Bowl XVI. Had he done so, Anderson would probably be in.

I saw this at the PFRA Forum, which has some members close to the HOF selection.
