I was pleasantly surprised to see 19 Whites on Tampa's 53 man roster to open the season.

QB - Ryan Fitzpatrick (starting due to Jameis Winston's 3-game suspension), Ryan Griffin
WR - Adam Humphries, Justin Watson
TE - Cameron Brate (Brate and O.J. Howard are both listed as starters), Alan Cross
T - Michael Liedtke, Leonard Wester
G - Ali Marpet, Alex Cappa
C - Ryan Jensen, Evan Smith

DE - Carl Nassib
DT - Beau Allen
LB - Jack Cichy
S - Chris Conte

PK - Chandler Catanzaro
P - Bryan Anger
LS - Garrison Sanborn

Tackle Mitch Unrein and LB Riley Bullough are both currently on IR.

Guard Cole Boozer, TE Tanner Hudson, and DE Patrick O'Connor are on the practice squad.

The two White receivers stand out, though Humphries is the odd man out with the rise of Chris Godwin and the continued presence of DeSean Jackson. Godwin is suited for the outside, which has pushed Jackson into more of a slot receiver role. He's in the back nine of his career and Humphries may regain his slot role in 2019 if Jackson departs. I was happy to see Justin Watson make the roster; I had him pegged for the practice squad, though it would be foolhardy to consider his position secure given how the Caste System works.

Chris Conte is a very good safety, and at least the Bucs continue to start him even though he's been despised by DWFs in Chicago and Tampa for the irrational reasons we often discuss when it comes to White d-backs.

Though there are six White starters, Fitzpatrick is most likely a temporary one, and I wouldn't be surprised if Beau Allen is demoted at some point. But the pickup of Nassib was a smart move; I still expect him to have a very productive NFL career if given a fair opportunity, which he did not receive in Cleveland.

Total number of White starters: 6

Total number of Whites on 53 man roster: 19

Grade: D (the 19 overachievers is nice, but the number of White starters is likely to be just 4 or 5 as the season unfolds)

Mike Smith is made the fall guy for Tampa's horrible defense. "The game has passed Smith by," meanwhile it's just a matter of degree from Tampa's defense to all the others in the league. Jacksonville's defense was supposed to be formidable but it's been carved up of late. Baltimore's defense looks good at times, emphasis on "at times." All other defenses pretty much stink all of the time.

But analysts will continue to moan only about a non-existent "lack of quarterback talent" while in reality every position blacks dominate is bad these days, particularly those on defense. But acknowledging the 800 pound elephant in the tent is cause for instant job loss for anyone in the system here in the "land of the free." The extreme segregation of the Caste System must be continued at all costs.

Bucs fired DC Mike Smith. LBs coach Mark Duffner is expected to take Smith's place. Smith is the first scapegoat for the collapsing Dirk Koetter regime, though a richly-deserving one. Running antiquated, vanilla schemes, Smith's defense was getting gutted for 440 yards per game, a number that would be by far the worst in the league if not for the Chiefs. They are on pace to allow the most points in NFL history. Smith's unit wasn't good (as in, dead last in yards allowed) in 2017, either, and it's fair to question why he was brought back in the first place. The game has passed Smith by.

But but but it's all Conte's fault...oh wait he was placed on IR and all of the world's best athletes were giving up tons of points.

Carl Nassib has played 93% of the snaps in Tampa's last two games, and has acquitted himself well.

Nice to see Nassib establish himself as a starter in Tampa! Lanky DE with of course a nonstop motor.

In other news "3 sack" Jack Cichy tore his acl again.. Likely end of the line for him.
