#18 Duke beat #8 UNC 86-78.....Led by Grayson Allen's 25 & Luke Kennard's 20

It must be infuriating to the caste media that after Duke signed three "future lottery picks," that the two best players are their two white men. Kennard and Allen were great tonight. Surprisingly, Luke Maye drew a start for UNC, and was praised by Shulman and Bilas for a really good game. Hope to see more of him in the future!

If one needs another example of the caste system and the ever-shrinking black talent pool in the United States, look no further than the Indiana Hoosiers and Tom Crean. Crean took over Indiana and built it back up, using a lot of white players such as Jordan Hulls, Cody Zeller, and Will Sheehey for examples. Now, after Indiana has been able to create "more athletic guys" (read, black players) they suck something fierce, and are in danger of missing the tournament. Now, he's blasted his team for a "lack of maturity." Is it any coincidence that as white players have been slowly banished from seeing the court over the last 5-6 years that Indiana has gotten worse each year since Cody Zeller left? The only white guy who even plays for them anymore is Zach McRoberts, (Josh McRoberts' younger brother) a walk-on who transferred from Vermont. Yes, there are a few good all-black teams, but you don't see them very much, but there are not as many as the media would like you to believe.

Sorry for not being able to post many stats lately... I've been pretty busy. Here's a couple of good games from last night:

Notre Dame's duo of Matt Ferrell and Steve Vasturia is REALLY good, and have the Irish on a three-game winning streak after beating a woeful BC team last night. Farrell had 19 points, 3 assists, and 2 boards, while Vasturia had 15 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. Rex Pflueger made several big plays down the stretch that sealed the win for the Irish.

Purdue big man Isaac Haas had 24 points and 11 boards to lead the Boilermakers past a woeful Rutgers team. Purdue is definitely a team to root for. They only start versatile guard Dakota Mathias, but their only three bench players are all white, and all will usually see double figure minutes, with Haas and two-guard Ryan Cline playing 20+ most nights. Spike Albrecht also sees time at the PG spot.

Here's a quick recap of the action Thursday, which had several strong performances from our guys.

Moritz Wagner has been a breakout star for the Wolverines this year. He shone brightly in Michigan's victory against Wisconsin, leading the team with 21 points. Watching him and Happ was fun, as Happ had 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Belmont's Evan Bradds continued his strong senior season with a 25 and 12 effort. Dylan Windler had 23 points as well for the Bruins.

Lauri Markkanen had 19 and 11 in Arizona's victory of mediocre Washington State.

Przemek Karnowski had 23 and 7 for the Zags in an easy victory over San Francisco.

Jock Landale had 16 and 11 for St. Mary's.

I've been able to watch a lot of hoops today, and we've had some good performances thus far!

Luke Kennard had 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists and Grayson Allen had 11 points, 6 assists, and 4 boards as Duke held off a tough Wake Forest team.

Zach Collins had 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks in helping Gonzaga dispose of a hapless Pacific team.

Isaac Haas had 18 points and 5 boards in Purdue's demolition of Michigan State.

Matt Farrell had 11 points and 8 assists, while Steve Vasturia had 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists as Notre Dame blew out NC State, which had 15 from Maverick Rowan.

Davidson's Peyton Aldridge had 15 points and 13 rebounds in Davidson's win over UMass.

A few more from last night:

Lauri Markkanen dominated all-black Washington, with 26 points and 13 rebounds. I'd love to see him stay, but we all know he'll be in the NBA at this time next year.

Andrew Rowsey moved into the starting lineup, and it payed off, as he was second on the teaming in scoring with 18 points, and first on the team with 7 assists in the Golden Eagles' demolition of Xavier.

Phil Forte had 22 points, while Mitchell Soloman had 6 and 7 as the Cowboys beat in-state rival Oklahoma.

Bryce Alford led both teams with 26 points, 6 assists, and 4 boards, while TJ Leaf had 19 points, 8 boards, and 3 blocks, and Thomas Welsh had 16 points and 16 boards in UCLA's demolition of cross-town rival USC.

Calvin Hermanson had 17 and 6, while Evan Fitzner had 15 and 6 as St. Mary's beat BYU 70-57. Eric Mika had 18 and 5 in the loss.

Eric Garcia had 19 points and 9 assists in Wofford's win over Western Carolina.

Bryant McIntosh is an extremely underrated guard. He's Northwestern's best player, and more often than not their only white starters. He's been carrying the team this season, and last night was no exception. His 18 points and 6 assists helped the Wildcats sneak by a terrible Rutgers squad.

Easily the highlight of the night, South Dakota State's Mike Daum had the single highest scoring output of any player in D1 this year, throwing in 51 points and collecting 15 rebounds in the Jackrabbits' 97-89 win over IPFW. This shows you why some NBA teams have been looking at Daum. The Jackrabbits aren't very good this year, so I could see Daum possibly transferring in the off-season to get himself more exposure at a bigger program. I like having small-school stars, so I hope he stays.

One last post for the weekend. A couple of our teams played pretty well today already.

Butler center Nate Fowler led the team in scoring today during their demolition of DePaul with 15 points. Tyler Lewis had a great game as well, with 10 points and 7 assists, to NO turnovers!

Ethan Happ was showing why he deserves to be in the Player of the Year conversation, as he led the Badgers with 20 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. He can really stuff the stat sheet! On a high note, highly touted guard Brevin Pritzl has been playing more for Wisconsin as of late, playing 23 minutes off the bench today. He had 7 points and 7 boards.

Tim Kempton had 22 and 10 for Lehigh today as they blew out Lafayette.

Finally, Bucknell's guard Kimbal Mackenzie and forward Zach Thomas both had good games for the Bison as they clinched the Patriot League regular season championship. Mackenzie was 2nd on the team in scoring with 17. He also had 4 assists and 2 rebounds, while Thomas was 3rd, with 15 points and 7 boards.

All and all, not a bad weekend for our guys.

Ok, one last thing. I always find it funny the lengths some announcers will go through to not call white players athletic. The instance I'm talking about is Michigan's Moritz Wager. Wagner, who I think is easily Michigan's most complete player this year. Every time I've watched him, I've came away impressed. The last few games, he's been great for the Wolverines. Also, he doesn't need 15-20 shots to score his points (unlike the "stars" on Michigan, Zak Irvin and Derrick Walton). He's quick for a big guy, he's athletic and agile and can score in a variety of ways. Wagner, who's close to leading the Wolverines in scoring tonight against the Gophers, has had himself his fair share of impressive plays. He had an impressive steal, then ran down the floor and finished it with a one-handed slam to help Michigan get back in the game. The only thing the announcers could say was: "Wagner's got great instincts, and it was a 'nimble' play." A play like that by a black player, and those idiots would've been falling over themselves, salivating about his athleticism.

Wagner must be using his lunch pail to get up this high!

I am sure I would say the same thing about a lot of black future NBA college players but I feel that everyone of the white guys mentioned in the upcoming draft should stay in school and I will go a step further and say most of them should stay the full four years. None of them are ready and I know everyone here has different thoughts on the matter but I am very conservative on this idea of staying in school and I think it serves the players better to stay in school despite the instant gratification of getting drafted. I would rather the guys get the great publicity that comes from being a star on a college team as opposed to sitting on an NBA bench for a couple of years or at best a bench scrub out of the gate. Baseball is a bad example because so many great white athletes have stalled in the minors but generally big league teams do not call up their star minor league prospects unless they are going to play. They need at bats and there is no point calling up a promising young prospect just to sit on the bench.
OK that said just a few words about the big men.
Ethan Happ- Does not seem to generate a ton of NBA interest at least yet. The positives is he can rebound is rugged and is good around the basket. Also gets a lot of steals for a big man. The problem is he does not shoot jump shots per say. But I say let him develop and expand his game. He is only a sophomore and like JL says he is a real college star doing what he does so lets see where he is two years from now. Too many experts expect young players to be fully formed after high school. Nonsense.
TJ Leaf--I love the way this guy plays the game. He is my favorite young player. But he would not make much of an NBA impact early on. He needs to mature physically and like Happ if he stays in school everybody will be talking about him.
Tyler Lydon- Last nights game vs Georgia Tech proves he is not ready at all for the NBA. Tyler is a good athlete and can shoot threes and is a good passer but he needs two more years to work on his dribbling, pull up jumper and one on one skills. I like him a lot but jumping to the pros would be a huge mistake for him. Another two years of refinement could do wonders for this talented prospect.
Ben Lammers - Had a great game vs Syracuse last night. Blocks a lot of shots and is active. He is a late bloomer as a junior and the best thing for him is to continue improving and he just might get his name called in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Lauri Markkanen- OK granted he is the most NBA ready but stay in school young man. Last night he displayed a better close to the basket game but he needs to improve in that area and another couple of years in school would help that cause. He could be a monster as he becomes more physical.
Drew Eubanks. He came in as a raw athlete and now as a sophomore he is showing nice around the basket skills. He can block shots and has a great NBA type body. Kind of like the Plumlee brothers. But another two years of growth and work on a jump shot would be the best course of action for Drew.
I know I sound like a killjoy but I would prefer these guys being talked about rather than disappearing into the NBA wasteland. But I suspect when the money is waved in front of their faces they may take the easy way out of school which would be a shame as far as I am concerned.

I agree with Shadowlight. In this day and age, there usually isn't much benefit for white athletes to jump into the NBA, especially white American players. Besides Kevin Love and now Gordon Hayward, they usually aren't talked about too much, or simply not given very big roles on teams. I'd much rather have the conversation next year be about the potential Player of the Year race in college involving Luke Kennard, Ethan Happ, and TJ Leaf as front-runners, rather than discussing those three's limited NBA roles next year. I'm with Shadowlight in really hoping these players and the ones he's mentioned stay in school. It at least gives CF users one enjoyable area of basketball. Plus, the longer white players stay in school, the more white-friendly teams there will be.

Big school college basketball is not like the minor leagues in baseball or white high school sprinters, volleyball players or lacrosse stars where the general public does not see them perform therefore they do not exist and so they have no affect on the general caste outlook. But here we have players on major power five conference schools performing on TV multiple times a week . What better way to fight the caste shadow? And while many may dispute the notion that staying in school is a better long term NBA plan for most of these white stars I feel by staying in school it makes them more NBA ready in terms of physical development, skill advancement and emotional maturity. And I find college basketball more exciting than the NBA personally in this day and age. That was not the case in the 70's and 80's where the NBA was just as exciting as college. Sure some of the players I root for in college may never make it into the NBA despite the fact like everyone at this site, I am rooting hard for the white guys to make a mark in the NBA. Still it is imperative that white athletes shine on a national TV stage to combat caste talk and college basketball is one of those key crucial outlets. And like most all of us here I have grave concerns about ESPN and the way they have blanketed sports coverage with their underlying caste cloak. Cripes listening to Dick Vitale the other day during the Georgia Kentucky game was beyond sickening. But then I thought to myself that people like the despicable Mike and Mike in the morning and a lot of what ESPN shoves down my throat only energizes me more and makes the success of white athletes feel even sweeter. JL good job on college basketball reporting by the way.

Back then, I enjoyed the NBA more than College BB, even though College BB was much Whiter. Some of the younglings here may not have been of age yet or even born yet to know that College BB back then didn't have a shot clock, so if a team got up by enough points they'd just start passing the ball around to each other, playing "keep away" from the other team for as long as they could, either running out the clock or getting fouled by the other team to send them to the free-throw line in hopes of them missing the shot and getting the rebound so they had a chance to score again. This wasn't how the game was meant to be played. It was pretty bizarre watching it sometimes. Also, I think the NBA had the three-point line before College BB did. Now, College BB is much better than the NBA.

Thank you Shadowlight! You have some good posts as well. I'm busy at times, but I do my best to keep everybody updated. There are some great players in college basketball, and it's a shame guys like Jimmy Chitwood, Deadlift, GreatLakeState and a few others no longer post about it.

We had a few good games again last night:

Isaac Haas has been playing great basketball as of late. He was second on the team with 13 points to go with 7 boards and 2 assists. Dakota Mathias had 12 points, 8 boards, and 3 assists, while Ryan Cline had 11 points and 3 assists, helping Purdue to win a slugfest in OT against Penn State.

Ohio freshman forward Jason Carter has been on fire as of late as well. In the Bobcats' 4th straight victory last night, Carter both teams with 25 points, and also pulled down 11 boards, again a game high.

Continuing with the theme of "on fire lately" Wichita State's Conner Frankamp would certainly fit the bill. After losing his starting spot for part of the year, he forced his way back into the starting five and has become one of the Shockers best players. He again had a productive night last night, coming in 2nd on the team in scoring at 13 points while also recording 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.

It was just another night at the office for Valpo's Alec Peters, who's been on fire all year. He had 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists as the Crusaders took care of Milwaukee.

Due to contributions from Bowling Green's backcourt of Zack Denny and Dylan Frye, the Falcons knocked off the all-black leaders of the MAC, Akron. Frye (just a freshman) lead Bowling Green with 22 points, while Zack Denny was close behind with 20, while also collecting 10 boards.

Marquette is a fun team to watch. The Golden Eagles now start three whites, and will often have four on the court for long stretches of the game. This was certainly the case last night against St. John's and Marquette's white guys balled out, to say the least. The Golden Eagles shot nearly 57% from the field as they routed the Red Storm 93-71. Freshman forward Sam Hauser led them in scoring with 19 points, while collecting 8 boards. Katin Reinhardt came off the bench to post 16 points, 5 assists, and 4 boards. Andrew Rowsey (now starting) was 2nd on the team in scoring at 18 points to go with 6 assists and 4 boards. Matt Heldt (starting in place of Luke Fischer) has been making the most of his opportunities, and last night was no different. Heldt recorded a double double with 15 points and 10 boards. Marquette is currently on the bubble, but they should make it into the Big Dance, and in something not seen for a long time, they will actually be one of the best teams we can root for!

On another positive note, Iowa coming back and knocking off Indiana likely knocks the all-black Hoosiers out of the tournament!! Hawkeye combo forward Nicholas Baer is one of my favorite players. A former walk-on, Fran McCaffery put him on scholarship after his freshman year. He's a great athlete, and somebody who does everything well. Like last night, he had 10 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. Simply put, Baer stuffs the stat sheet. He had a great play during Iowa's comeback, posterizing one of Indiana's future NBA players on a putback dunk. Check it out for yourself:

Funny you should mention Baer. I like him too but I must admit I haven't watched much of Iowa this season which is unusual for me. Baer fits the mold of a lot of white athletic Iowa hustle guys from the past that may not fit the NBA "profile" ( oh no he's white) but still fun to watch. I will start paying more attention to Iowa albeit it is late in the season. God that was one hell of a dunk!!!!! I did not see it. Thanks again JL for your comprehensive reporting. Also Heretic mentioned preferring the NBA back when to college. Have to admit nothing tops watching Larry Bird in his prime playing for the Celtics. Man I miss that now in the NBA. Often you don't realize how great things were until it's missing. I do not see the next potential "Larry Bird" currently in the NBA but never give up hope. Maybe someone will emerge in the next three to seven years?

Speaking of Larry Legend and the Celtics. Ethan Happ reminds me a lot of Kevin McHale with his prowess in the post!! What do you guys think? Also there may never be another Larry, that's what adds to his greatness and Top 5 all time status as one of the games best ever!!

Butler, which played 3 whites for the majority of the second half, come back and beat Villanova on the road, giving them a season sweep of the defending national champs. Tyler Lewis has been playing great his last few games, and this one was no exception. He finished with 8 points, 4 assists, and 2 boards, as well as playing some good defense. Andrew Chrabascz stuffed the stat sheet, with 4 points, 8 assists, and 7 boards! He is one of the most versatile forwards in the country. I'm looking forward to watching them come March.

And in another good performance I watched tonight, Luke Kennard continued his outstanding season for Duke. He finished with a team high 23 points, while getting 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and a block. Grayson Allen has hit a funk recently; hopefully, he'll be able to get out of it by the tournament.

And to answer Celtic, Happ reminds me of him as well. You don't see many big men with Happ's IQ around the basket. I just hope he'll get the chance in the NBA in a couple of years.

Both Grayson Allen and Myka of Kansas have had some bad patches. With Allen the blessing could be he stays in school and becomes more consistent. He still looks like a first round pro to me but another year is clearly needed especially maturity wise. As for Myka the jury remains. He can get to the hoop at times but has little finesse or control when he shoots it on the drive usually clanging a missed shot off the back board. I do not like his coach much either but he has clearly disappeared from the offense for a big spell here and for him to declare after the season would be foolish. Best case scenario is he gets drafted in 2018 late first round but like I have said before I would not place any bets on him. I am still rooting hard for these two guys. Again the NBA has so few white guards. Odd but I was rooting against Duke for the first time this season. I wanted to see Syracuse secure a seat at the big dance and this win takes them over the top. Tyler Lydon's numbers from last night were not eye popping but he played pretty much the whole game and made several key plays down the stretch. On two late rebounds he soared through the air with authority. I fell asleep but looks like Oregon State's Drew Eubanks had another stat stuffing game albeit in another loss. He is progressing nicely.
Just to change things up for a moment a word about the women. Below are five good and really cute players.
1-Ally Disterhoft Iowa SR-must be of German descent.
2-Carlie Wagner Minn JR-ditto above Germanic?
3-Jadda Buckley Iowa ST JR-good point guard
4 Tyra Buss IN JR-another good point guard
5-Katie Lou Samuelson UCONN SO- arguably one of the top players in the game and the only non blonde in this group. She has a great stroke----I am talking about basketball here. Her team is 27-0 and are on a record winning streak of 102 games in a row. Man is that something.

Arrest warrant issued for Creighton BB player for First Degree Sexual Assault.

Karma for usually White-friendly Creighton for abandoning the White players that got them to where they are today and going with an all-black starting five (last that I heard of)...

And they lost today. Teams that want more "affleticism" should know that correlates with more off the court issues, duh!!!

#5 UCLA beats #4 Arizona yesterday in Tuscon. It would be AWESOME if UCLA were to win the national championship this year. It would add to the incredible string of victories of Brexit, Trump, and the Patriots.

It would be great seeing UCLA and their four white athletes (3 of whom start, and are all great players) who play a lot getting a championship. The media keeps trying to hype up Ball, and he is a key player, but anybody who's watched the Bruins can see that without Leaf and Alford playing well, UCLA won't win. Go Bruins!

I came to a mini conclusion last night. For all the talk about Ball I agree with the media on this, he is the most clever and alert player out there and has a lot of Jason Kidd in him. He is NOT however a great athlete. In fact the guys the media are hyping as supreme athletes for the upcoming draft like Fultz, Bridges and Josh Jackson are not as athletic as say Andrew Wiggins. Personally I think NC State's Dennis Smith is probably the safest NBA pick. And Kyle Guy hit two shots over him yesterday on his way to a 19 point effort in a key win. That said BYU is a team to watch next year. Erik Mika is starting to get noticed and the whippet like Hawes will only get better. HUGE win at Gonzaga last night. In the past BYU teams would lose those type of games. Is Hawes the second coming of Danny Ainge? And yes GO UCLA. Man are they fun to watch or what?
