I love the fact that sCam got blfo by Denver's pass rush. Of course the media will do damage control and take away blame from sCam. sCam is such a loathsome nfl player.

I would say Semian was almost scams equal tonight. He impressed me with a quick release, athletic ability and he throws a pretty ball (not that it means anything). I did not even consider Semian a draftable prospect in 2015 but he has made me second guess myself. I think it's a great story to see a 7th round player from a school known for academics over sports start his first game and defeat and perform at an equal level as the nfls MVP.

It was a great to see Janovich score on a long td run as well!

Scam still throws off his back foot and at times almost propels himself backwards when throwing the ball. It's a huge mechanical flaw and just a really ugly display of qb play. If he was a white qb he would be criticized to no end for such bad mechanics.

Semian looked poised and not in over his head for his first start in the NFL. He looks like he could be a solid starter with more experience. He also showed that he can roll out and get yards on a scramble and unlike Scam he isn't selling out his body for the first down. I expect Scam to start breaking down in a few years from the punishment he takes. It will be interesting to see if Newton can be effective as pure pocket passer when his legs are shot.

Did you guys see that Olsen catch-and-roll-out-of-bounds to stop the clock just before halftime? Great catch, and a heads-up play that even the commentators had to admit was "brainy," i.e., more intelligent than the average player would think to do. Olsen had a great catch prior to that as well, with a pass too high for him which exposed him to a CB hitting him pretty hard. But he held onto the ball and pressed on. Nice.

The media tries to act like it's impressive when he does it. Say stupid **** like "Very few QBs in the league possess the strength to do that".

As I expected the media pinning all the blame on Gano as he "botched" the kick.

Lost in translation is the fact that sCam didn't play like an MVP should. Denver's pass rush was on a quest to hit him hard all game and hurt him. I think it's safe to say Carolina players are the only ones that appreciate sCam's celebration shenanigans.

DWF's are crying he got hit in the head and didn't get the calls, but on the other side, Denver pass rushers were held all game and didn't get the calls. The refs just let them play an aggressive game.

Carolina was lucky to even get in FG position after a stupid hands to the face penalty on 4th and 21 gave them new life.

Next week Carolina faces the 49ers. I hope the 49er pass rushers take the same approach.

I was thinking the same thing watching the game. Newton was like a wobbly heavyweight boxer about to go down for the count, and it was just the first game of the season.

Now everyone is complaining that the Refs were not calling helmet to helmet hits. From what I saw of the game they called the only obvious helmet to helmet hit. Scam gives himself up as a QB when he runs with the ball so those types of incidental helmet to helmet hits should not be called because he is not a QB he is a runner. Also it shows how much this game has been softened up when players on the losing team are crying about their team not getting penalties called in their favor.

That's the key, incidental. There's no way they can be eliminated when guys are running as fast as they can trying to make tackles. Punish the deliberate ones and the borderline deliberate ones, otherwise they might as well be playing touch football.

NFL fans have turned into the biggest crybabies. After each game, the losing team's fans always claim they lost due to the refs. They whine about flags not being thrown for hard hits or incidental helmet to helmet hits. It's never that the losing team was outplayed.

The media is trying their hardest to paint the narrative that poor Cam Newton was victimized by the dirty Denver Defense, everytime Cam was hit a flag should of been thrown and Carolina should of been handed the win. Even though Denver outplayed Carolina.

They should put a glass skirt on sCam. Would that help the fans feel better? After all, there's no difference between men and women, right?... And wouldn't that be more inclusive? Screw the Anthem. Right? We fans and all offended and oppressed players have bigger fish to fry and need to be protesting that players can't wear glass skirts with tampons built inside....C'mon everybody!!!
All that was a joke of course, but this is what this League and its fans have come to. If it goes down any further it won't even be football any more.

Personally I enjoy seeing this smug mug get hit. It's comical how childish and arrogant his demeanor is when hes up and how down he gets when things don't go his way.

PS if there was no flag thrown for helmet to helmet on that play, the play is history. He'll get every call his way next week though.

sCam hasnt changed. When they had to burn the last TO towards end of 1st half he had a hissy fit when the Denver defender was trying to get the home crowd into it. He pushed him aside like some kind of diva.

Elway is already probably telling his offensive coordinator not to give Janovich any more carries this year. As soon as he scored on the run Elway was thinking, "Oh shi*, a white man just scored on a run for us! I don't want a repeat of the Hillis or Tebow situations! That would be awful!!! Hmmm, how can I stop this..."
