Yes I know he was Jewish but you have to love Blazing Saddles where at the time it was okay to be politically incorrect in the movies. Young Frankenstein was also pretty damn funny.

Yes, also was good as the original Willy Wonka, not the one that Johnny Depp played. Lessons to be learned from that movie on how you shouldn't spoil children. He also made a small appearance in Bonnie and Clyde, 1967 movie.

Did he ever play a bad guy/villain? I think that would have been fun to watch, like that one movie Robin Williams was in with Al Pacino.

Wilder seemed like a genuine nice guy.

Young Frankenstein may be my favorite movie.

Wilder was also funny in the 4 movies he made with Richard Pryor. Lots of good un-PC racial comedy in those movies.

Another little piece of my childhood is gone. I recall watching Stir Crazy over and over on HBO (before VCRs). Me and my friends would laugh, joke and talk about it for days. Fun times and one of the few actors who truly made me laugh. RIP.
