Connor Cook has declined a Senior Bowl invite. He will need a strong combine showing in order to help his somewhat falling draft stock due to his mediocre play vs. Alabama as well as answering questions about the shoulder injury he had during the season. Of course the unnamed scouts are going to be attacking his supposed character issues as well.

Brandon Allen has been invited in his place.

WR Ed Eagan has been called up as an injury replacement for the Senior Bowl
Ed Eagan.
Important player because of his speed. Lets hope he burns rubber on his upcoming 40 yard dash for the draft--a combine invite would be nice but they rarely

With Senior Bowl practices over (they are treated as more important than the game itself) it looks like quite a few of our guys made positive impressions:
QB Carson Wentz - his strong senior bowl showing is the first step, he plans to do all the drills at the combine as well. It sounds like he is making himself a viable top 10 pick.
OT Jason Spriggs - probably the best player not named Carson Wentz all week in Mobile, was pretty much perfect in drills - I think he is a late 1st round pick - reminds me of Nate Solder (same type of athlete)
OG/OC Nick Martin - not as good as his brother Zach but was damned impressive and more than held his own in drills
C Graham Glasgow - probably one of the biggest risers - dominated the Shrine Bowl and was invited to the the Senior Bowl and dominated against several 1st round projected sumos
OT Joe Dahl - answered questions about himself coming from a spread offense - they bumped him to the interior line like they seem to do with so many white OTs but he played very well
TE Nick Vanett - probably solidified a 3rd round stamp on him with his overall game - he can block as well as get out and be a reliable pass catcher
LB Kyler Fackrell - had a good week of practices and has probably solidified himself as at least a 3rd round prospect
DE Carl Nassib - has answered all the questions about him being a one year wonder by having a dominant week
DT Matt Ioannidis - if he were black he would be talked up more than he is being, he was very good all week. He was projected as a 5th/6th rounder - hopefully he gets bumped up to the 3rd/4th round. Won't surprise me if he is another Henry Anderson - a very good d-lineman pushed down the draft because he is white

Both Glen Gronkowksi and Dan Vitale played well at the underutilized FB/H-Back positions so they probably will not be more than late round picks anyways.
Ed Eagan had a nice catch and run for a TD during the drills - I hope he has a big game since he only had once practice to show himself.
I would say all the white LBs - Matakevich, Kwiatowski, Martinez, Ganus, Norris and Schobert were solid and helped more than hurt themselves. I didn't read anything about them being liabilities in any way.

As for the affletes - overweight, soft pudgy Reggie Ragland is getting hype as a 1st rounder - can anyone think of one alabama prospect that has actually come out and played well at the NFL level, especially on defense. I believe Amari Cooper is the only one. Most of the Alabama defensive players have been average at best.

Shawn Oakman was a huge disappointment, the guy flat out sucks. Is a workout warrior type, like I said in my previous post which has disappeared - he is vernon gholston 2.o

Also it should be interested to see how the long armed sumos fare once they are in the NFL. The arm length thing is one of the most comical measureables because every year so many of these players with long arms end up busting even though they have such a supposedly desirable trait that ensures success in the NFL.

There is speculation that the Browns will take Carson Wentz with the number two pick in the draft.

The combine invite list should be out this week. This is another step in filtering out and excluding white players from the draft process. I will post the attendees when they are released.

As far as the Senior Bowl game itself - it sounds like Wentz did pretty well and has cemented a 1st round grade on himself. Gronkowki, Nick Vanett and Ed Eagan all played pretty well.

Some of the more laughable things I have read are that Jacoby Brissett might see an EJ Manuel like jump (even though he had a bad senior bowl week) - he was a pretty mediocre QB at NC State and always disappeared in big games. Dak Prescott is getting some unwarranted hype as well (I wonder why).

I am hoping this year's draft is similar to the 2004 draft that saw Eli Manning, Philip Rivers and Big Ben all picked within the first 11 picks (JP Losman was picked at 22 by Buffalo) and Matt Schaub was also drafted in the 3rd round (as well as some journeyman/career backs up - Luke McCown/Jim Sorgi).

I actually see alot of similarities between this year's top QB prospects and the class of 2004:
Lynch reminds me of Big Ben
Goff reminds me of Eli
Wentz reminds me of Big Ben
Cook reminds me of Schaub (which is not a bad thing because Schaub had a very solid career)
Hackenberg is the wild card like Losman - big arm and talent but needs to develop and be accurate consistently

Philip Rivers is a unique case - his throwing motion probably doesn't allow me to compare him to any of the big names and projected 1st and 2nd round QBs. I think Kevin Hogan is the best comparison (although Hogan is an outstanding athlete) - their throwing motions are pretty similar.

As for the depth of this class - I really think we will see at least 10 white QBs selected overall giving the NFL an overall boost in quality talent at the position after the past few years where the position has been lacking. I hope this draft provides us 5 or 6 quality starters at the position which I do not think is unrealistic.

Looks like another year where da black man is being held out of the QB position by rayciss whites in college and the pros. The top prospects are Dak Prescott and Cardale Jones. Prescott is a reasonable talent while Cardale is just a joke. We'll see how the media tries to promote and spin one of these guys into a "1st round talent" as we lead up to the draft.

Cardale Jones is the one the media is going to try and hype up. This time last year he was a top5 if not the top overall qb according to the media. His play on the field and his antics off it have surely sunk his draft stock. Look out for his hype machine to get into full gear around the combine.

Prescott is an NFL FB - a smaller less athletic, less physical tebow.

After Von Miller harassed Scam at the super bowl I have seen a few articles looking for the next Von Miller. Oddly enough Myles Jack (who is one of the most overrated prospects in the 2016 draft) is a name that I keep seeing although he did not show much pass rushing ability in college before he tore his ACL. No one said Scooby Wright though who was a downright dominant player who lived behind the line of scrimmage during his college career. The hilarity of the draft process continues.

Scooby Wright is an elite athlete. I have no doubt he could play that role chasing down many of the new dual threat qbs. He would punish them too. This kid can really hit people hard. Take the will out of them to keep running the ball. It will be interesting to see where he ends up at.

This is pretty funny. Looks like Alabama RBs are earning the same reputation for flopping in the NFL as Wisconsin RBs. And it's from a real person, not the usual sneering (likely often made-up) stuff Weenieworld runs with "anonymous" scouts and front office personnel severely downgrading White players.

Ex-NFL personnel man Bryan Broaddus compared Alabama RB Derrick Henry to famed Bears draft bust Curtis Enis. Broaddus tweeted that he worries about 6-foot-3, 238-pound Henry "getting bigger and slower," and noted Henry's game tape reveals an oversized running back who "doesn't create," and needs "a lane to get going." Broaddus was hired by Hall of Fame GM Ron Wolf in Green Bay before spending time scouting for the Eagles, Jaguars, and Cowboys. The No. 5 overall pick in the 1998 draft, 250-pound Enis lasted just four seasons in the NFL, averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

Saw Michael Caputo (Wisconsin safety) mocked to the niners in the 4th/5th round (can't remember which) by Bleacher Report's Matt Miller, that's not too bad.

Braverman screwed tho, he was in PFF's all America team in the slot! Next great nfl slot.

No DBs, RBs and just two WRs with Combine invites, that's disgusting. At least the list posted by Leonardfan shows an uptick at DL, LB, QB and the OL.

I will do a write up of notable snubs later tonight if i get a chance. I am not really surprised at the exlusions though as the combine invite list seems to be very predictable and follow the same script each year.

UGA's Quayvon Hicks is an afrolete FYI.
Also, UGA LB & defensive MVP Jake Ganus wasn't invited to the combine. The NFL can go to hell!
